A perfect title

Advantages: excellent writing style, easy to read
Disadvantages: none

...choice that I came across Lizzie Zipmouth. She had never read any Jacqueline Wilson books before but I had heard many good reports and of course the title glared out at me as perfect for her! She was also impressed that it had ‘her nickname’ in the title and so the deed was done! We read it together and I was totally impressed! Lizzie’s mum is moving in with her boyfriend Sam and his 2 boys. Lizzie wants to keep her mum to herself ...
...course none of this impresses Lizzie and from the minute they move in she stops talking. This results in her stepbrothers naming her Lizzie Zipmouth. Things continue with tension mounting on both sides and Lizzie ever more determined not to speak. When she is given an ice-cream “My mouth watered but I didn’t even have one lick. The ice-cream melted and dripped down inside my sleeve.” At this stage I wanted to give her a hug, so ...

...best-selling author Jacqueline Wilson. Lizzie refuses to speak. She doesn't want to talk to Rory or Jake, her new stepbrothers, or Sam, their dad, or even her mum. She’s totally fed up at having to join a new family and nothing can coax her into speaking to them. Not pizza, not a new bedroom. that is until she meets a member of the new family who is even more stubborn than her. Lizzies mum has got a new boyfriend Sam and her and Lizzie are moving ...
...day that they are moving Lizzie decides she isn’t going to talk to anyone no matter what. Sam asked Lizzie what color bedroom she wanted and Lizzie really wanted pink but her mum said it was to girly she got red and purple checked. Lizzie was so upset about it not just being her and her mum, that she shut herself in the wardrobe and everyone was looking for her, but Lizzie stayed their when she was found her Mum told her off and sent her to bed ...

Lizzie Zipmouth - bennifites of reading

Advantages: Helps children who are experiencing the same thing
Disadvantages: Very short

...Lizzie Zipmouth would be particularly beneficial for children who come from broken homes, as I did. It teaches young children that change is ok, and sometimes may lead to something better. Lizzie refuses to accept her new step-dad and step-brothers into her home. As I had once refused my own step-dad. It didn't seem to matter to me how happy he made my mother, or how kind he seemed to be. Ten years later my step-dad is still in my life, and I am ...
...my mother created. Like Lizzie I learned to accept my step-dad, and it led to a better life for me. I recommend this book to a child who may be going through the same thing. However, it is also a well written and enjoyable book that I would recommend to any young child. As are all of Jacquline Wilson's books. Each of her books has a lesson in them. Wilson's books helped me through my childhood and young teenage years, I sincerely hope that they help ...

This book is based on a girl who is ignored by some of her fellow family members but is then it is her time to shine when her granny struck ill and looked after. the cover is very appealing and shows the main character throughout the story. my sister and myself recommend this book to young girls as it is very interesting and relates to us in a way. the author is a favourite throughout my bookshelf and the illustrator is a very experienced drawer ...
