...'''WHO?'''
TSB merged with Lloyds back in 1995 to form Lloyds TSB Group plc, I can't believe it's already been 13 years (I still referred to it as TSB by accident until 2 or 3 years ago). But it wasn't until mid 1999 that TSB and Lloyds Bank branches in England and Wales were actually re-branded as Lloyds TSB.
'''WHY ME?'''
I've been a current account holder with Lloyds TSB since 1986, except then it was just TSB or Trustee Savings Bank (as was ... ...and every account available to Lloyds TSB customers, but then again, you could get very bored and stop reading this review right here, so to err on the side of caution, I'll give you the link to find out full details of the various accounts available. http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts.asp?link=top_navigation

...remember. I continued to use Lloyds (oops...) for personal banking.
Time moved on, business went downhill, and a loan was needed - no problem, Lloyds were eager for the business - and deal done. Even when I became unemployed for a short time in my life, they paid the loan for me. More time moved on, I was accepted for a mortgage - although the deal fell through - no fault of the bank.
I had a visa card, substantial agreed overdraft which I hardly ... ...Passport approved and stamped by Lloyds themselves, got together various proof of ID, and cheques to open a new account.
Some time passed, I heard nothing. I contacted their CS department again, who informed me that a letter should have been sent, explaining that my application had been turned down - they wouldn't tell me why. I thought this was strange, considering I had been a good customer for 20 years or more, had a good credit rating - up until ...

Advantages: Moving with the times, flexible Current Account Offerings, good branch network Disadvantages: Still very much a reactive service, not a proactive banking provider..
...however, have never switched from Lloyds Bank (now LloydsTSB) for my current account for over 20 years. My main reason for this is that they have been incredibly easy to do business with. I first opened a Student Account back in 1986, the exact reason for choosing them long erased from my memory, and indeed my parents and family have never banked with Lloyds - but I probably chose them because they offered cold hard cash as an incentive. A figure ... ...all in one. However, the Lloyds account was much more straightforward to use, for managing bank transfers, direct debits and standing orders. I very rarely need to go into a bank nowadays. I did have to pay a large cheque in 2005 when I sold my house, but had not bought another..and I was whisked into an office as a matter of procedure and actually got a direct line to the bank, which is a rarity these days. ...doubt obtaining a loan through Lloyds TSB is the worst thing I have ever done in my life. At the time of getting the loan I was a very naive 21 year old and going through a few temporary money troubles that looking back weren’t so bad. The thing that makes me more angry is that I feel I was more or less pushed into taking out the loan. I originally rang my bank to increase my overdraft limit by £200, well it was January and everyone knows how long ... ...went to my branch of Lloyds TSB the following day.
Upon arrival I was taken into a private room to discuss my application for a loan! Now this is completely my own fault and I know I should have been much stronger but I could only see as far as the end of the month and worrying about how I was going to feed myself so I went along with it. The clerk took all the usual details such as address, work place & earnings and details of all my outgoings. ...

I was preparing a review on a Tesco range of ice creams called Mmmm, but that will have to wait as after reading recent and old reviews on LTSB and other banks I feel I need to give the views of a humble bank cashier.
I am unable to comment on the economics, product design and profits of large financial institutions, I'm not that clever (if I was I wouldn't still be a cashier after 25 years), but I am able to give an opinion on customer service ... ...counter'.
Reading the reviews was not totally enlightening it confirmed what I already knew, people dislike banks for the following reasons - not treating customers as individuals, lack of communication, charges, poor training, call centres. There were other problems but these were the most common.
I was pleased to see that some opinions rated the helpfulness and friendliness of staff highly.
After many years in the bank I have seen the emphasis ...

...and CONS of this local Lloyds TSB Bank; then you can read the rest of my little story.
-------------------- Pros --------------------
1. Excellent, spacious atmosphere, clean office and cubicles with blinds on every window.

Please note: The term TSB stands for: Torturing Selfish B*st*rds. This is why Lloyds adopted those THREE letters from the original TSB bank to suit their company's name (nice try).
It was a time when I had to open an account somewhere in my NEAREST bank (my parents were Lloyds TSB account holders). I had to open an account with them, because I was in the ...

...had a current account with Lloyds TSB since 1993 - only back in those days, it was just plain vanilla Lloyds Bank, before it merged with TSB (formerly Trustee Savings Bank) two years later and began the process of re-branding its branches and services. Before that time, I had banked with NatWest, as I liked their policy of not investing in South Africa during the apartheid era, unlike most other UK banks. To be fair, Lloyds have recently introduced the "Classic Plus" account, which is very similar to the Classic account, but pays 3.93% gross interest on the first £5000 (4.0% AER). Unfortunately, I can't upgrade to it because you need to pay in at least £1000 per month, and I now only work very part-time (and have a separate account to my husband).
There is no monthly fee for having an overdraft with either account; you just pay interest on the ...

...opened a bank account with Lloyds (they merged with TSB a few years later) back in 1995 I progressed onto a student account when I went to University and, being happy with the service they offered, I decided to continue the progression onto a graduate account when I left University in the summer of 2001.

...has had an account with Lloyds TSB since he was a student. He has no complaints against them. When I married him and moved to the UK, naturally I just used the same bank that he did. It was also the nearest bank to our house so convenience did play a part in my choice.
