"I am a blob, my name is Joe. Joe blob"

Advantages: Bright, chirpy, and happy. What more can I say?
Disadvantages: Gameplay gets repetitive fast. Level editor a let down.

-=-=NOTE=-=- Since LocoRoco is such a bizarre game, to help you poor souls out there who haven't played it understand a little better, please refer to my screenshots at the bottom of this review when you finish reading it. Not only will it show the pretty graphics, it will show off the features with little captions by me. All screenshots were taken by me by the in game screenshot camera, which I mention in the review. And with that, please read ...
...what? Cheer up, life's good!". LocoRoco is one of these things. It was originally published on the internet as a downloadable demo for the PSP. You downloaded it, uploaded it, then launched through a demonstration level which showed off the simple controls and pretty 2D graphics. A bog basic 2D cell-shaded game generally generates little or no interest in the computer gaming world. XIII was a good game, but it was in full 3D and was a shoot-'em-up, ...

A Weird and Wonderful World..

Advantages: Playability, addictive music, attractive graphics
Disadvantages: Too short, poor extras, too much time where you are not controlling the game

I first heard about LocoRoco from a friend who told me I could download a demo game from the internet. The demo was in Japanese and I could not understand the instructions fully but I managed to get my way to the end of the stage and I was instantly hooked and knew I would be buying the game as soon as it was released in the UK. The game is very simple but extremely entertaining. The story is that further than the very best telescope can see there ...
...stars to take over.. The LocoRoco have no idea how to defeat invaders and that's where the player comes in. A LocoRoco is a kind of squishy blob that has eyes, a tuft of hair and a mouth which is very important as they never stop singing. This is the first part of their appeal. They sing total nonsense, and there is a very Japanese-y style to their nonsense but after a while it is almost like you can understand them. The game itself is very easy ...

Cute Fuzzy Graphics, But Somehow Lacking

Advantages: Highly addictive visually and from a sound point of view
Disadvantages: Tedious after a while, too much the same.

The first game I picked and played on my PSP is the rather odd Loco Roco. Loco Roco's cover boasts some rather delightful looking bugs and blobs, and is sure to appeal to the "arrrrrrr" game player simply by the cover alone. Having put the rather funky looking UMD disc in the back of my PSP I'm immediately greeted by a quirky little song and some rather psychedelic graphics. Indeed psychedelic is a good word for Loco Roco, I can literally envisage ...
...I don't know which is the more "trippy" the graphics or the sounds and music. Basically the games design is very simple, you start off as a little orange blob that must make your way through a strange maze like world. As you travel along you must collect "red bluebells" with every one that you eat your body mass will increase. There are 20 of these flowers hidden at various intervals on each level. On top of this on each level is a bonus opportunity ...

The cutest PSP game around!

Advantages: Very cute, generally easy to get to grips with, good fun
Disadvantages: Not as easy as the demo may make it seem

I was recommended to try the demo of this game for the PSP, which I luckily got free with a PSP accessory I bought last year and after playing it, I knew I wanted the full game. It has to be the cutest game on the PSP I've played so far, very original in my opinion, though I can't claim to have extensive knowledge of all the games on the market. It involes you using the top left and right buttons on the PSP to tilt the screen, moving the loco rocos, ...
...are too (I like nice cute games lol call me a kid but there you go!). You can also make them bounce by pressing both the left and right buttons together and the same time. The game involves navigating these loco rocos through different worlds, being careful to avoid nasty Moja's (which look like sort of flying spiders) and burrs (sharp objects). There are good things to look out for too, like berries and Chuppas, which can fire your loco roco into ...

LocoRoco – A great, original game

Advantages: Addictive gameplay, Simple graphics, Replay value
Disadvantages: Can get repetitive by the end

...game is to guide your LocoRoco though a colourful level, collecting berries and MuiMui’s (small creatures that need saving) as you go. You start the level as a single LocoRoco, and from here you must tilt and bounce the world to proceed forward (see Controls), over rotating/moving platforms, past enemies, until you reach the end. In every level there are 20 berries to collect, which increase the size of your character, and getting all 20 in ...

This is required when travelling thorugh small tunnels/cracks, that are not ...

...story, however, like Mario. The LocoRoco can also make themselves into one big ball/sausage etc. They can break up and be individuals at any time. ADDED MINIGAMES Also, you can collect pink (sometimes orange,) flies and you can get other things for the Loco House by using your pink-fly-money. LOCO HOUSE This is where you create your own little crazy area for the LocoRoco to play in with the pieces you can collect in the main gameplay. From my point ...

SOUND You can always hear lots of music in LocoRoco, but it might get annoying when you hear the same music on some of the pages over and over again. However, each level has it's own music, this is great! VALUE FOR MONEY You can but this game from Game for £12.99, I think that this is fantastic value for money. Review of LocoRoco (PSP)

Locoroco (PSP)

Advantages: bright colourful and fun
Disadvantages: finished it very quickly

I have had the game Locoroco for a little while now and so far it has been one of the best games I have purchased this year. Locoroco is a 2D game set on a planet far, far away where little blobs, or locoroco, live merrily singing and rolling about. One day evil spider-like creatures called Mojas invade and it is up to the little locorocos to defend their world. The aim of Locoroco is to guide a locoroco around a World by using the L and R buttons ...
...bounce. On the way the locoroco can eat flowers and every flower that is eaten grows into another locoroco. Two or more locoroco can join to make one big locoroco by holding the O button. They can split up by tapping the O button. There are lots of different Locoroco that you will come across whilst journeying around, and each one is unique, and each is a different colour. Also, on your travels you will see a whole menagerie of weird and wacky creatures ...
