Advantages Advantages Cordless, Rechargable, Accurate Laser, Battery indicator, Quick charge, Lots of buttons

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit expensive for some, Some buttons don't work in non-Microsoft software, A bit heavier than other mice

I've only ever owned wired Mice for fear of poor battery life, but I recently took the plunge and bought a Logitech MX1000 Cordless Laser Mouse to go with my Logitech Media Keyboard. I bought it from Ebuyer for £38.37 plus £3.83 Super Saver delivery. The price now is £35.69 plus delivery. They like to drop prices AFTER I buy the items. Anyway, you can also find it in the high street in Dixons, PC World, etc but usually more expensive. I also found it at CCL Online for the Ebuyer haters. The mouse has a non-obtrusive Logitech logo on the top. The Left and Right-click buttons are part of the ... more

The humble mouse. First introduce by Apple in the 80's and is now and integral part of everyday life. They work so well that most people don't even think about the mouse they use on a daily basis or realize that the mouse has evolved significantly. When looking at your PC it's always worth considering the humble mouse and keyboard. After all, it's something you will be using constantly and you want to make sure your hand has something nice to hold. If it helps you with your day - even better. Bring in the Logitech MX1000. Although it was released over a year ago, it's still worth your ... more

Advantages Advantages Very responsive, customisable, fantastic ergonomics,no need for a mouse-mat,long battery life, battery status.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bulky in comparison to a standard mouse, not the clearest instructions for a PC novice, some may find a bit heavy, needs getting used to.

I'd heard of Logitech products about this time last year when I purchased my very first computer, to me they appeard to have some interesting products such as speaker systems for PC use etc but that sort of thing didn't appeal. Neither did the need to change my prehistoric mouse. It wasn't until I used an optical mouse at work that I thought maybe an upgrade could be worthwhile,so I purchased an optical mouse by Microsoft which plugged into a spare USB port . A definite improvement. Well as usual, I thought someting even better may be about so I asked my PC fluent boss about what's available ... more

Advantages Advantages As good if not better than a high end mouse

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little bit heavy but there is more in a cordless mouse than a corded one

I have been in the market for a couple of months for a cordless mouse but have been a little put off by the things I have read on them ie pointer lag (pointer not moving as quick has it should when mouse is moved) and just generally not performing as good as a corded mouse. Well you can forget all that with the Logitech MX 1000 laser mouse. The movement is as smooth as a corded mouse, although I have to say the mouse I had before this was a Logitech corded mouse and the MX1000 is smoother than that. The MX1000 has fast RF transmission, what this means is there is none of the drawbacks that are ... more

Advantages Advantages Very comfortable, very accurate, very smooth, lots of useful buttons

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very expensive for a mouse

-Introduction: The Mouse Dance- I remember a time when the only mice that you could buy had a surprisingly heavy rubber ball underneath and an absolute maximum of two buttons. It would not be very long before the rubber ball would collect fluff and dirt and very effectively transfer it to the microswitches inside the mouse. Thats when the real fun would begin. As you tried to perform an operation with your mouse it would stop moving the cursor in one or several directions, its primary and only real job. So then would begin the 'Mouse Dance'. Pick the mouse up, bang it on the desk, pick the ... more

Advantages Advantages Super-accurate, lots of buttons, long battery life, quick charge, cordless, battery indicator, got a laser in it!

Disadvantages Disadvantages little bit too heavy, software a bit clunky

When my trusty old MS optical corded mouse went to the great recycle-bin in the sky, I took the opportunity to go wireless. When you are looking for a mouse, you require: Accuracy - the laser used in the MX1000 is 20 times more accurate than standard optical mouse sensors. This is obviously a great improvement but if you are unsure what this means in actual benefits, I can confirm the mouse is very accurate at tracking small movements. The immense accuracy also means that you can use virtually any surface as a mousemat - your desk, a hand, a wall, even featureless white surfaces. Buttons ... more

Advantages Advantages comfortable, lots of customisable controls, long battery life, good response

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really

Now as somewhat of a power user, this mouse has had quite a hard life. My business is internet based and, what with car forums, research and staying in contact with my clubs and students, it probably gets about twelve or more hours use per day. It's be interesting to see a milometer attached to these things to work out how far they travel in their lifetimes. Maybe a good idea would be instead of airmiles get mouse miles! Okay on to the meat and potatoes of the review. I'm coming at this review slightly differently from the other excellent reviews this character has. I recently replaced this ... more

Advantages Advantages Accurate, Comfortable, Long Battery Life

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, Weight

After a lot of hard work and a long time with a dismal PC at work I was given a new one. I asked for a programmable mouse to go with it, just expecting a regular Microsoft Intellimouse. This is what I got, a Logitech MX 1000. First impressions and I thought I'd be controlling nothing short of a star ship. I have been using the mouse for high end 3D graphics and illustration work with a top spec PC. Once out of the box and into the dock for a quick charge the mouse looks impressive, commanding and very aesthetically appealing on your desktop. The smooth grey and black finish with the light ... more

Advantages Advantages Very precise, lots of buttons.

Disadvantages Disadvantages May be hard to handle.

I have this mouse primarily as my gaming mouse on my PC. I bought it for around £40 at PC World about a year ago. Since then im glad to say its still working even after lots of use and is still as good as when I bought it. When it comes to looks the mouse itself does look rather funky and cool. Mines in a dark grey/blue and silver (not sure whether it comes in any different colours) and looks rather smart sitting on my desk. However, the charging cradle does look rather ugly in my opinion sitting at the back of my desk as much out of sight as possible. When it comes to the features and quality ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price

Not the cheapest mouse around but was the first laser mouse and it has not disappointed. It is very responsive and works on every surface I have used it on and is a huge improvement on all the other types of mouse I have had which include ball, optical, optical and wireless. All the buttons can be programmed to whatever functions you desire and it fits your hand perfectly(unless you are left handed). Also unlike my last logitech wireless I find that the pads underneath have not been brushed away despite having used this mouse for over a year now. It comes with a cradle receiver which doubles ... more
