My Mouse has No Tail, No Ball and No Red Light! Review with images

AdvantagesCordless, Rechargable, Accurate Laser, Battery indicator, Quick charge, Lots of buttons

DisadvantagesA bit expensive for some, Some buttons don't work in non-Microsoft software, A bit heavier than other mice

"...the plunge and bought a Logitech MX1000 Cordless Laser Mouse to go with my Logitech Media Keyboard. I bought it from Ebuyer for £38.37 plus £3.83 Super Saver delivery. The price now is £35.69 plus delivery. They like to drop prices AFTER I buy the items. Anyway, you can also find it in the high street in Dixons, PC World, etc but usually more expensive. I also found it at CCL Online for the Ebuyer haters. The mouse has a non-obtrusive Logitech ..." Read review

A smooth black rodent

AdvantagesComfy, feature rich, good battery life, smooth, wireless

Disadvantagespoor software

"...- even better. Bring in the Logitech MX1000. Although it was released over a year ago, it's still worth your consideration. Here's why: == Build Quality == I've used the mouse for over a year and class myself as a power user (2-3 hours a day, plus my wife and kids use it). Basically, the mouse gets used - a lot. It's been dropped (I'm clumsy), it's been thrown across the room (massive fight with wife..), it's been in the fridge, been sucked ..." Read review

Every PC should have one

AdvantagesVery responsive, customisable, fantastic ergonomics,no need for a mouse-mat,long battery life, battery status.

DisadvantagesBulky in comparison to a standard mouse, not the clearest instructions for a PC novice, some may find a bit heavy, needs getting used to.

"I'd heard of Logitech products about this time last year when I purchased my very first computer, to me they appeard to have some interesting products such as speaker systems for PC use etc but that sort of thing didn't appeal. Neither did the need to change my prehistoric mouse. It wasn't until I used an optical mouse at work that I thought maybe an upgrade could be worthwhile,so I purchased an optical mouse by Microsoft which plugged into ..." Read review

A cordless mouse that performs like a corded mouse Review with images

AdvantagesAs good if not better than a high end mouse

DisadvantagesA little bit heavy but there is more in a cordless mouse than a corded one

"...forget all that with the Logitech MX 1000 laser mouse. The movement is as smooth as a corded mouse, although I have to say the mouse I had before this was a Logitech corded mouse and the MX1000 is smoother than that. The MX1000 has fast RF transmission, what this means is there is none of the drawbacks that are associated with cordless mice such as mouse lag. The mouse has a litium ion rechargeable battery that Logitech says will never need replaced, also ..." Read review

The Mouse That Roared

AdvantagesVery comfortable, very accurate, very smooth, lots of useful buttons

DisadvantagesVery expensive for a mouse

"...of Laser Mice (cue fanfare). -The Logitech Mx 1000 Laser Cordless Mouse- The Logitech Mx 1000 Laser Cordless mouse uses a laser rather than conventional light. You don't gt the funky red light effect but what you do get is massively improved performance. logitech reckon that the laser technology gives twenty times better sensitivity than an optical mouse. When used the mouse certainly seems to react better than an optical mouse and doenn't seem ..." Read review

Sharks with frickin' laser beams!

AdvantagesSuper-accurate, lots of buttons, long battery life, quick charge, cordless, battery indicator, got a laser in it!

Disadvantageslittle bit too heavy, software a bit clunky

"When my trusty old MS optical corded mouse went to the great recycle-bin in the sky, I took the opportunity to go wireless. When you are looking for a mouse, you require: Accuracy - the laser used in the MX1000 is 20 times more accurate than standard optical mouse sensors. This is obviously a great improvement but if you are unsure what this means in actual benefits, I can confirm the mouse is very accurate at tracking small movements. The immense ..." Read review

Logitech MX1000 Laser Mouse VS Microsoft

Advantagescomfortable, lots of customisable controls, long battery life, good response

Disadvantagesnone really

"...also be achieved with the Logitech as well. Programming the button in the software is easy on both mice and should produce no problems to anyone who is capable of using the programs that would benefit from them. Because both mice are wireless, they need synchronising with their base units which in turn are connected to the computer via USB cable. Because the Logitech has its own little neat cradle, the synch button is just below where the mouse ..." Read review

High End Technology, At A High End Price

AdvantagesAccurate, Comfortable, Long Battery Life

DisadvantagesPrice, Weight

"...is what I got, a Logitech MX 1000. First impressions and I thought I'd be controlling nothing short of a star ship. I have been using the mouse for high end 3D graphics and illustration work with a top spec PC. Once out of the box and into the dock for a quick charge the mouse looks impressive, commanding and very aesthetically appealing on your desktop. The smooth grey and black finish with the light silver buttons are very alluring. In regards ..." Read review

Laser power

AdvantagesVery precise, lots of buttons.

DisadvantagesMay be hard to handle.

"...do different things using the logitech configuration software which comes with the package. It can also be downloaded from the internet. This software also lets you encrypt the wireless connection between the mouse and computer to prevent security implications. The instruction manual that comes with the package is rather brief but the online guide makes up for this far greatly. May I also say the packaging that you get the mouse in looks very cool ..." Fantastic But Costly Mouse

AdvantagesCan be used on virtually any surface

DisadvantagesPrice

"...handed). Also unlike my last logitech wireless I find that the pads underneath have not been brushed away despite having used this mouse for over a year now. It comes with a cradle receiver which doubles up as a recharger so no need to worry about batteries and generally can last about a week between each recharge which is extremely good for me because I'm a very heavy user(around 6 or 7 hours daily). One thing I would like to say is that the manual ..." Read review

A tidy mouse

Advantages Fast, smooth and long lasting

DisadvantagesSoftware issues, won't work on some surfaces very well

"Getting negatives out the way first, I found that using the software that comes with the mouse slowed down my PC much more than I found acceptable so removed it. The mouse works perfectly well like this but prevents programming all the available buttons which is a bit of a shame but that wasn't why I bought it anyway. (Only an issue if you use demanding software like games) The mouse doesn't work on my nice new glass computer desk which was annoying ..." Read review

Great, multifuntional mouse

Advantagesextra functions, ergonomic design, durability, charger

Disadvantagesrare connection problems

"I bought this mouse for almost 2 years ago and I'm still impressed with it. It is quite big, but it doesn't really matter. The important thing is that it fits the hand perfectly. The ergonomic design has always been Logitechs good side and this time they did another masterpiece. I can sit hours with the mouse without beign tired or discomforted. From the technical side it is extremely accurate. I know, laser IS accurate, but I still had to say it. ..." Read review

One of the best cordless mice, precise, agile

Advantagesagile movement, precise on any surface, rechargable

Disadvantagesthe charging station deforms after a while

"The Logitech MX1000 Laser cordless mouse uses a laser to detect the movement on most surfaces, regardless of how flat or soft the surface may be. I bought this mouse almost two years ago and the lithium ion battery can still lasts approximately 45 hours of continuous use, until it needs to return to the cradle, for a 5 hour charge. The range of this mouse is quite impressive. You can still get a responsive action approximately 10m (30ft) away. Ergonomically ..." Read review
