The pad on the bottom of the mouse allow for a smooth glide, while the laser is very accurate. I bought the Logitech MX Revolution a couple days ago to replace my older Logitech optical mouse. The mouse comes in a large box and is encased in plastic. I actually scratched my new mouse trying to remove it from the plastic, because I ended up having to use scissors to get it out, so I pretty annoyed because of that. Don't use sharp edges to get the mouse out because you WILL scratch it like I did. Just use your hands to try and force it out. ...
