Plug, Play, N Enjoy

Advantages: Cover, Compatable, Plug N Play
Disadvantages: Lead can become short at times

...always been a fan of Logitech so I thought why not try their webcam out. Sure its not the cheapest available but it will get a fair bit of use and you wont go out a year down the line and change it that’s for sure. Had mine probably 2 years or so now. Not broken, not packed up still looks new. Now to the details: Setting it up. Well I’m on XP so like most things it was detected just like that. It loaded itself up, set itself up with MSN and it ...
...under my computer so you can look at the cameras view, adjust brightness, mirrors manage the color settings everything. It has a zoom feature as well as black and white mode, sepia etc in the odd event you want to use it. Its packed with features that most people wouldn't use but nice to know its their. This webcam works with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Pinnacle Studio, and Windows Movie Maker. All of them recognize it and you ...

Coooeee, can you see me waving?!

Advantages: High quality, includes microphone, good framerate
Disadvantages: software not fantastic

I picked up a couple of these recently as I'd got ADSL at home and it meant I could give one to my daughter and have one at work, so I could "tele-parent" when she was home from school on the laptop and I was stuck at work. They are very easy to install, simply plug the USB connector in and install the drivers included on the cd. They also come with a privacy shield (useful if you leave it running all the time and want to get changed or pick your ...
...and one for flat surfaces). The included drivers work perfectly, however the software (which you use to mess about with saturation, brightness, zoom etc) has a habit of crashing on both my machine at work and my daughter's laptop, so I suspect it doesn't like XP. To be fair though, you don't need to use the software as on auto everything is fine. The cam itself uses a CCD (which offer better quality than lower priced CMOS cams), and can spit out ...

Excellent Value For Money

Advantages: Easy to set up and use, great picture quality
Disadvantages: Swivel base

I have had this camera for about a year after upgrading from a cheapy one that was very poor quality. This little thing not only looks stylish but also does the job required excellently. The picture quality is amazing and is great fun to use to talk to friends online. It's a doddle to set up, simply put the disc in your cd-rom and follow the instructions. It is a USB connection. The supplied software covers everything you could want from a webcam, ...
...use it as a security cam or just to catch out someone touching your PC when they shouldn't be! The built in microphone is another useful feature though I confess I prefer to use a miniture one attached to a tie clip as it's easier. Only downside is the swivel base which is effective but sometimes is too easy to part from the camera and can be a pain. Other than that it's great value for money. ...

A very decent webcam

Advantages: Professional look; built-in microphone; lighting options
Disadvantages: Still takes fuzzy pictures

...alternative. In my opinion Logitech makes the best webcams around. My brother has one, and I saw how it performed, so I decided to follow suit. Of course, I was looking for a cam that didn't take fuzzy pictures, and worked under low light. I bought the Quickcam Pro 4000 from eBay for around £40, believing it qualified. First off, the camera works exactly like other Logitech cameras - install the software, plug it in and you're ready to go. It works ...
...Scanners and Cameras folder. Another bonus is its support for low light environments - one of the biggest problems I've had with previous webcams. It will automatically adjust the picture to accommodate for lack of light, but you can also set brightness and contrast, as well as other colour correction options, within its options. Best of all, the camera takes pictures up to 1 megapixel. It also has a manual focus, which is the ring around the lens, ...

Good all rounder!

Advantages: Good quality reliable webcam
Disadvantages: USB 2? Not sure

...a proper digital camera. The logitech software is pretty much idiot proof, if a bit too much for advanced users. I use mine for live capture, webcam chat and still captures. Quality of picture is great and it even has a microphone attached onto the camera so you don't need additional hardware. It even looks like cool in it's grey and black attire. The black ring round the lens, acts as a focus so you can do close up stuff, plus captures at a distance. ...

Very high quality pictures and easy to use webcam

Advantages: Excellent quality, easy to set up
Disadvantages: Stand

I previously owned a cheaper webcam; however the quality of the picture was not too great. I decided to upgrade to this camera and was pleased that it provided much better quality images, they are very clear and crisp. An added bonus is that it includes a small microphone. The camera is really easy to set up. You plug it into a USB port and Windows finds it. There is no fiddling around required and no technical knowledge is needed. The cam comes ...
...and pictures using your camera. This is all easy to use. Additionally there was an option to create a webcam show – however this used to cost an addition fee and has now been discontinued. I do not know if a replacement service is offered with recent purchases of the webcam. However there are other ways of broadcasting webcams on the net, such as the world of webcams website (www.ww.com). I mostly use my webcam on the msn and yahoo chat programmes. ...

Face to Face

Advantages: Very good picture quality
Disadvantages: Face tracking doesn't always work

We received the Logitech QuickCam as a present last Christmas from my parents in Law, so that we could chat online. The Camera itself was very easy to install and set up thanks to Windows XP's plug and play capabilities. The picture quality is very good, unless you Web-cam at the weekend when there is a lot of traffic. The camera was also easy to configure to use with both Windows and Yahoo messenger. However, we were unable to use the flat-panel ...
...computer desk has a shelf abouve the monitor. Our camera therefore stands on this shelf, and this unfortunately means the camera cable is not able to swivel as intended. The only other feature that is less than perfect is the face-tracking. Frequently the camera will zoom on a static object in the room, or a part of the anatomy other than the face, which can be slightly embarassing while talking to the in-laws. Eventually we got fed up and switched ...

Can't really fault it.

Advantages: Built in microphone does not pick up background noise.
Disadvantages: Can't think of any

This one cost me £79.99 from either Index or Argos. The picture (according to folk at the receiving end) is as clear as a bell. It's good with tungston lighting, fluorescent lighting and copes well in poor lighting too. Normal daylight through a window is a little blue but can easily be adjusted by the software it comes with. The quality of the microphone is really really good. My desktop mic picks up the sound of my computer... not this one though. ...
...The webcam is connected by USB and has a fairly long lead so there's no pulling and stretching to position it comfortably. I use it with MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, PalTalk and AIM with absolutely no problems whatsoever. It is capable of taking stills and they are (in my opinion) ok for putting on websites but not good enough to put in a picture frame. ...

Quality Of Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000

Advantages: Excellent Quality
Disadvantages: Can Get Blurry

Now for this only being only a webcam it has so many advantages. Firstly it goes up to 1.3 megapixel images, 3X zoom, Built in microphone and a new one face tracking - and it really does work. You can use this hign quality image camera for many uses like on msn messenger to have video conversations which is free and no more worries about the microphone too. Also you get the choice to download a free software with many features to do with the camera. ...

it gets better

Advantages: Brilliant Picture and Microphone
Disadvantages: none

...a proud owner of the Logitech Pro 4000 Camera and have been very pleased! I found the face tracking wasn't that good to start with but downloaded the latest drivers from the logitech website and now it is fantastic! I paid £39 from Pixmania which I think has now put its prices up :-( but I still think its a bargain at £49. I have tried a few different cameras and this one I the best ever! The picture quality it fantastic even when to a web conference,. ...
