Hello, how are you, I wish I could see you. Sound familiar does it well how many times have you seen that whilst chatting to your friends and family whilst on line, I know I have. I went out and bought a Trust Spacecam 200 web cam and used it for only one week, while running Windows Me. I probably would have stuck with it, even allowing for the terrible picture quality, which to put it mildly was not flattering except for the fact that it was not comparable, even though I was assured it was with Windows XP. So back it went to the supplier for a refund. Here the problems started, no one in the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Easy to Use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a Good Quality Picture

I use MSN Messenger a lot to chat to friends and got this webcam so I can see me friends whilst I chat to them. This cam seemed to be the best option as it was heap and I wasn't looking for the best one, just a cam I could use for fun. The webcam connects to the computer via a USB port so it's easy to plug in and out. The cable connecting the webcam and computer is long which is good for making videos or placeing the camera far away from the computer. The cam sits in a stand which allows the camera to rotate and look up or down. This helps if it sits on an angle and you want a straight picture ... more

Advantages Advantages Quite cheap, Easy to set up

Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor image quality, Annoying stand

At around £20, The Logitech Quickcam Express is one of the cheapest webcams on the market , and in this case you truly get what you pay for. Image quality and lighting levels are very poor and the camera is big (for a webcam), bulky and difficult to arrange properly on its stand. My girlfriend bought this camera to use with her laptop, but the quality was so bad that she soon got a Creative one instead. Technology: The main feature of the camera is obviously the CMOS sensor which delivers the image. The box states that this webcam can display images at 640x480 resolution, but this isn't really ... more

Logitech Quickcam Express I got a webcam 2 years ago as I was moving to the UK and it would enable me to keep in contact with my dad who also has the same webcam. Logitech Quickcam Express is like a mini digital video camera. Quickcam Express can bought starting from £10 at www.novatech.co.uk up to around £30 from www.dell.co.uk. I bought mine on promotion 2 webcams for £30. Or on Ebay starting at 99p to about £10. Just shop around to find the cheapest deal for you. The webcam is a ball shape with a small bit at the bottom that fits into the stand that comes with it. The stand acts like a ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to set up, quick, works well, Mum can see me, cheap.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not possible to use with

My webcam broke recently and my neighbour kindly lent me one of his old ones. It is a Logitech Quickcam express and is white in colour. I believe that the original price of this was somewhere around the £20.00 mark when he purchased his but this can now be found for just £7.00 or so on Amazon.co.uk, also in white. This webcam comes with a stand that allows it to be stood on the top of my home computer monitor. This works well and it is very simple to manoeuvre in to position, however, I could not adjust this enough to connect it to the edge of my laptop which was a real shame. I found that the ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Mount is not very accurate

I got my Logitech Quickcam Express a few months ago and it has been a useful little device - sure it is limited in it's capabilities but it only cost 25 pounds!! I have no real need for webcam but I thought it might be fun to hook one up. The device cost me about 30 pounds to begin with but then I got a manufacturers rebate that brought the price down to well below any competition. Plugging it in couldn't have been simpler - the USB interface is virtually idiot proof (although I'm sure there are plenty of idiots willing to prove me wrong!! ;-> ). The only hassle I've had since is one of the ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to install, good software, easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages You need good lighting, otherwise picture quality drops.

This webcam is excellent value, costing around £30. For your money you get the camer and some software for it. The camera has quite a long lead on it, and a USB connection to connect it to your computer. It was easy to install. Just plug it in, and install the software. No hassle at all. I would say that is is the easiest piece of hardware that I have bought to install (with the exception of things like keyboard and mouse that just plug in!) The software has a number of features. You can take pictures and video, create picture or video e-mails, make a web albumn and make a live webcam ... more

I have just bought a Logitech quick cam express, and i must say for under £40 was a very good buy, nicely packaged, neat installation USB to boot!!, the software you get is basic but intuative to use, you dont really need a manual to find out how to do things, netmeeting comes supplied and worked a treat on my machine, although the video recording doesnt come off, but ill get that sorted soon. updates of the software are regular and easy to perform. one thing i look for in a product is the content of its manufacturers web site, logitech have one of the more easy to understand sites around and ... more

Advantages Advantages Low Prices, readily available

Disadvantages Disadvantages Almost non-existent Customer Support, poor response time, lack of knowledge on behalf of advisors.

Like most amatuer enthusiasts on the net, I wanted to try out all the functions of the Internet. Global Communication was my aim, as it is the "World Wide Web". With relatives spread over the globe, I opted to try out net-meeting through MSN, and ventured out to purchase my first web-cam, ( or video capture device) As usual I browsed through numerous sites, including Ciao, to get an idea what I wanted or indeed needed. Here I found the majority of good comments at the time recommended Logitech's Quickcam Express, retailing from anything from £29.99 upwards. I eventually opted to purchase the ... more

I was given the logitech Webcam for my birthday last year, I was thilled to recieve it and started using it asap. I loaded it on to the computer which took very little time so I could start taking pictures and making video's staright away. The package cost around £30 and for what you get that is a very good price for what you get. With the logitech Webcam you can do different things under each heading: Create Pictures and Video's ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In this section, it allows you to take a picture with a click of a button, it is very easy to do. You can also record video's with a click ... more
