The Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 is a well designed, compact and easy to use webcam. It comes equipped with an in-built microphone, the ability of recording high-quality videos with sound, as well as being able take still pictures and, of course, to send live videos and sound allowing you to have online video conversations.

The Logitech Quickcam Pro 5000 certainly looks good from the outside, and at first glance it performs well - But there are several problems with the software that drives it. The software from Logitech causes many people, including myself, to have several problems that don't just affect the camera's performance, but cause problems with Windows XP (particularly the display of the 'quick launch' icons). The other main problem people get, seemingly those ... ...of the Quickcam software. The Logitech forums give more specific details from many unhappy users. I did not personally get the BSOD but version 10 of the software did mess up my quick launch icons, so I stick with the version it came with (V9.5).
The built-in microphone works well, but if you have the facility enabled which allows better audio (called AEC), then your surround sound 5.1 speakers will not work, but will play only in normal stereo. ...

I have to admit this is my first webcam, however all I can say is I have nmot been disappointed so far. I have been very much impresesed with the features and capabilities I have seen of this webcam so far. It is more expensive than most of the other webcams I have seen in use so far which have acceptabloe quality, but am glad I decided to pay a bit more for such a good webcam.
The image you get is of very good quality, as has been told to me by ... ...microphone is of a reasonable quality. Provided with b the webcam you also get a headset, which can improve voice and speech quality in conjuction with the webcam, as well as for private conversations. As a note the headset can be used also for VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) programs as well as in addition to usage with the webcam itself. Advantages: It has nice avatars only. Disadvantages: to expensive and makes you many problems!!
...for £ 70 and now it costs i think £ 30. So that means that not many people are buying this camera, and so the logitech have to reduce the prize to sell more.
The brand is very good but what is a bad product with a good brand!!! ...

I bought this webcam almost a year ago now with the idea of doing some video conferencing with my friends. So far I have only used it a few times and only once with each person I have used it with. It is just so funny to start with, then it gets embarrassing and eventually it gets turned off. I have not managed to get the sound quality to improve and at the moment there is a very annoying echo. I have used the webcam with MSN and Skype and both were ... ...to take photos is fun but the quality isn't good, certainly not as good as my 3mega pixel digital camera so I don't use it often.
Had a few laughs secretly filming my other half. When he was doing some exercises was best!
A bit too expensive for me seen as I haven't used it much. ...
