Advantages: Great sound quality, remote control, looks good Disadvantages: The subwoofer/amp need to be kept away from other devices
After having a cheap Creative 5.1 sound system for a few years I decided to replace it with a better system. I did some research and most places pointed to this being the best 5.1 set up for a PC that was available. I found a good deal and bought it straight away. I was not disappointed when it arrived and I had it set up.
The 4 satelite speakers both look and sound great. The removable grill gives them the standard speaker look but once it's remove ... ...quality is very clear from the high quality 3" drivers. They have 62W output power which gives them quite a bit of power to really pump out high quality sound. The speaker stand can rotate to turn it into a wall mount which is quite stylish and nice feature. The speaker cables are seperate to the speakers and amplifier allowing you to use your own speaker cable if you need to and not have any problems extending or replacing them in case of damage. ...

Advantages: Very loud, very good quality, easy to set up Disadvantages: Big and heavy subwoofer but that's to be expected!
...I eventually came across the Logitech Z-5500 - and I'm glad that I did. ~ The Setup I Have Now Got ~ When I found these speakers I originally thought that they would not be suitable due to the fact that on the box it says they are to be used mainly for PC's - but this was printed long before the PS3 came about, apparently. Now my set up is: Logitech Z-5500 ---> (optical cable) PS3 ---> (HDMI cable) HDTV This means that I can play my games and watch ... ...one source of entertainment. This Logitech on the other hand allows you to use them with many more sources including PC's, mp3 players, DVD players and game consoles. I hope many people will find this review helpful as I know how hard it is to find reliable information on these sort's of things. All of the information above is what I experienced first hand with little knowledge or advice and I can gladly report that this system worked out very well ...

Advantages: powerful, clear sound Disadvantages: display not always visible
I purchased this set of speakers after selling my set of Z5400, which was identical to this set, save for the digital control.
At 500W RMS, this speaker set will get things going. I have had mine for about a year, and only one did I ever turn the volume up past the three-quarter mark - and that was just a test!
Connected to a pc with a 5.1 channel output, this set really shines as a home theatre speaker system, with excellent sound quality, clarity ... ...or kick", according to a few of my friends.
One nice thing about this system was that there were no RCA or proprietry connectors from the amplifier located on the back of the subwoofer to the rest of the speakers - so if the supplied cord was not long enough, you could just head down to RadioShack and get as cable you needed. (Previous systems used RCAs to connect the satellites to the amp, so you would either have to cut the cord and do your own ...

Review of Logitech Z 5500
Advantages: The Sound clarity, design of speakers, price, ease of setup, Disadvantages: size of the Sub, Wired and not wireless satellites, AND NEIGHBOURS MAY COMPLAIN ABOUT LOUDNESS!
I've had these speakers for several months now. I purchased them from a local dealer who had an offer on and firstly I was amazed at the sheer size and weight of the box. Opening the packaging, it contained a remote control, batteries, the user manuals, 1 central speaker and 4 satallites, a centralised volume control system with nice blue neon lighting and lastly an absolutly gigantic Sub. Fitting was fairly easy, although i wished to originally ... ...use this on my PC because of the size of the sub not fitting anywhere downstairs also the wires would have looked unsightly and they were not long enough to go round the room, also the room structure meant that it would have been difficult placing the satallites in a good position in order to optimize the 5.1 surround sound. I connected the speakers easily and once the setup to my pc was complete I was at first instance blown away by the sound, I ...

Advantages: Loud, very good sound quality, snazzy design Disadvantages: Sub box is massive
I used to have a set of Creative 2.1 speakers that cost me £40. They did the job well, but i was after some extra punch and sound quality. After searching on the net for various options i chose these, and boy am i glad i am! The sound quality through these speakers is superb! With a total of 505W RMS they kick out alot more sound than the majority of units available! Mine were purchased 18 months ago for £300, but they are considerably cheaper these ... ...them.
The speakers look very nice on the desk, and produce some very good sounds. The subwoofer is an enormous 10" ported unit, which is impressive bearing in mind most PC speaker systems have a 5.25" or 6.5" sub. The only down side to this is the shear size of the sub box, its massive and you will struggle to fit it under most computer desks.
The 'control unit' is a very clever touch. It has a display screen and allows you to change the settings ...

...a more well known brand. Logitech first came to mind. As I unpacked these lovely speakers I firstly loved the design. I set it up quickly and tested them out, the quality is amazing on these. They not only look great but the sound also follows. I just can't get enough of the quality, it's so crisp and clear, I would reccomend it to anyone! Advantages: Excellent Sound Quality, Good Bass, Very Load Disadvantages: Sub/amp does not have magnetic protection
I've got to say, even with the high price that comes with this speaker system, it was definately worth the money!
When I received the box, I could not get over how big (and heavy) it was. After opening it, I found that the Sub was taking up most of the room!
The system looks fantastic, and wouldnt look out of place in a nice living room. The 5 surround speakers have stands that can be rotated, allowing you to place them on a desk/stand, or to wall ... ...could place them around a large room without any trouble. Also, as they use standard speaker connector wire (no permanent connection to get pulled out of the speakers!), you could nip down to an audio shop and get some longer cables if you really needed them.
The sound quality is equally impressive, when coupled up with an good sound card, DVD audio sounds amazing. The Sub produces nice clean bass with little to no distortion. The level of bass ...

Quick review of Logitech Z 5500
This product is hard not too miss, with the sleek design and mind numbing bass power on this 5.1 speaker set, it is no wonder you are reading this review!
The sound quality on these speakers are not to be missed. We use it in our home, and not even half the power this speaker system can rock to. I know a computer store who uses these as their store's music system!
This is a must have to impress friends, and may be too powerful for normal home users, but it will definitely have every visitor say wow. ...

Advantages: Excellent set of speakers Disadvantages: None
Bought these speakers over a year ago and I have had no problems with them, they are still going strong. Extremely good quality no matter what sound you put through them. I don't think I could live with anything less than these speakers now, the upmix is awesome the bass is thundering and the sattelites are extremely well made. Make sure you have room to keep the bass atleast 30cm away from your computer as the magnet in the bass could wipe your ... ...These speakers are a lot more expensive than other speakers but are still worth the money you will not be dissapointed with these but I would recommend having a 5.1 compatible sound card instead of using the speakers upmix function, it gives a much better quality sound. Advantages: Amazing sound quality and bass response, very reasonably priced Disadvantages: The magnet in the sub needs to be kept atleast 2 feet away from TV's and computer equipment
I bought these speakers at christmas time as I was looking for a set of loud 5.1 speakers for under £200 and i'm pretty sure these were the best ones for the money. The first thing my attention was drawn to upon them being delivered was the size of the box, most of this taken up by the sub woofer with it's huge 12'' speaker.
The speaker system is so easy to set up a child could probably do it in less than five minutes without the instructions, just ... ...to the control box and away you go. The sound quality is amazing, these speakers can handle anything from bass heavy ska and drum and bass, to clasical and pop without even a hint of distortion. The Dolby Pro Logic effects for music and movies are also amazing.
In conclusion these speakers really have to be heared to be believed and if your looking for a speaker system for under £300, this is the one to buy! ...

Advantages: Reliable, excellent value for money, loud. Disadvantages: Can get warm during playback.
I purchased these speakers from Amazon a few years ago and they have been all round excellent. They are incredibly loud, stylish and in my opinion great value for money. What sets these speakers apart from any others are the fact that they are adaptable to so many different media centres. For example, you can plug these speakers into not only a TV, but also a computer (some laptops may even be capable of doing so) or you can plug and iPod or any other ... ...outdated TV's/PC's/iPod adapters, to simply buy a connecting lead adapter which I have seen on Amazon UK for ten pence. Addtionally, there are different settings for different media. i.e a mode for watching movies, a mode for music etc. You can easily control the amount of bass and assign a volume to which set of speakers you want to. Also included is a guarantee. P.S The subwoofer (for the bass) is absoultely earth shaking! (but can be turned down ...
