Advantages: local if you run out of something

Disadvantages: Grubby shops and high price

Mostly the Londis that I have visited have tended to be quite dingy and grubby, they seem to have a good range of basics but these basics all seem to be coming close to the shelf Expiry Date. There are never normally enough fresh (or even old and not fresh) vegetables or bread and the staff always seem comptetant but you would not want to challenge them with thinking. Disadvantages: the prices are higher on nearly every item

Londis prices are one of the highest in any supermarket I have been to. Maybe it is because like our Londis supermarket it is one of only two supermarkets in our small town. You have to go to one or the other or travel 7 miles to Tescos if you have forgotten anything in the weekly shop. Most Londis supermarkets are in the smaller towns or villages. Cat food in Londis is 47p where as in tescos I can get the same brand for 33p. Most items are ... Read review

Disadvantages: too expensive, grubby look

There is a little Londis in my neighbourhood. It is tiny, but it has a decent selection of most products. It even bakes its own fresh breads and pastries. My main complaint is that the prices are at least 20 percent above the bigger supermarkets like Tesco. Sure, it is convenient, but do I really want to pay that much more? ...of them had the word Londis Written on it. Today it seemed to be open and it was a Londis shopping hall, when I say a hall I mean a shed size hall! As me and my friend stop for refreshments each day anyway we decided not to visit our local but go into this new Londis. Londis will always be the most popular corner shop in Britan. But is that good enough for them? Why have such a good shop be wasted as a LITTLE shop selling one brand of every item. The Problem is called SPACE! Londis shops are known for good owners, good contents and good brands of foods and suppliments, but the problem is only one brand of these things are sold.
