They have finally lost the plot

Advantages: realistic
Disadvantages: most storylines now used

Two or three years ago I was hooked . London's Burning captivated me to the edge of my seat without fail . The fires and special effects were so realistic . The Blackwall crew were a revelation . The quality surpassed many American programmes and for a long time had very high ratings. Now I think the programme has had it's day . It is looking tired and surely the nw fire station is a last desperate effort to re-ignite some spark into the show. ...
...off too often and the turnover in crew is too high. OK firefighting is dangerous and their are fatalities as well as people moving on. But with sicknote gone now and the younger lads brought in who just seem to fool around the show has I feel lost some crediblity. George is the only original left now and he is one of the more believable characters I feel . He is played very well by West Ham FC fan Glen Murphy. I must comment on the recent rape ...

Wheres The Fires

Advantages: You wont get too excited watching it
Disadvantages: Dull, monotonous

This is a programme almost entirely devoted to the personal lives of a group of people who are apparently firefighters. I suppose having endless series about the other emergency services – police, hospitals, er vets it is de rigeur to have one set in a fire station. Unfortunately (and I suppose thankfully) there are only a limited number of ways the writers can use this background. Hence the fact that the personal lives of the characters swamp ...
...jaws of life. The brigade commander still looks as if he’s likely to ask them all whether they want to swap their house insurance to Direct Line. He is presently struggling through the most implausible story line where his female friend (Shoestrings receptionist for those who like TV’s useless facts) wants to develop an area and it might get in the way of fire engines getting to incidents quickly. How do they keep their face straight. ...

You wont get much better

Advantages: A great program
Disadvantages: none

As a Firefighter i watch this program very closely and i can honestly say the program makers have nearly got it spot on, i am talking about the firefighting aspect of the show not the story lines. All the actors/actresses on the show could nearly fit into a real fire station no problem. Londons Burning is set around a fire station called Blackwall and the Firefighters in it. The show focuses on the different "shouts" they are called out to and their ...
...I think Londons Burning is very realistic and can be rivoting, sometimes i wish it was on for longer because it has me glued to my seaton a sunday night. I know the program has been around for a number of years, but i still feel there is room for another series if they move with the times like they have done. Idont know what everyone else thinks because i have a bias opinion. ...

Where's the bucket???

Advantages: Tense drama
Disadvantages: Disadvantages? As if!

London's Burning is a real good, gripping, fire-fighting drama hosted by ITV on Sunday evenings. This HOT drama is set obviously in London at Blackwall Watch. The characters are amazing and there are always new ones entering and i suppose there'll have to be after the cliff-hanging last episode of the previous series. I'll tell you about it later. The storylines are nail-bitingly realistic and can make you quite frustrated, emotional and certainly ...
...edge of your seat when they have a large tragedy on the show, which really they have to have quite often to keep viewers. However i won't stop watching it. It's one of my favourite dramas on the tely! It's timed a bit wrong though. You sit down to relax on a Sunday evening and it makes you all tense and excitied about the story. Some of my favourite characters are recall, sally and the lovely old biddy that does the lunches. She's cool! I can't stand ...

love it

Advantages: Brilliant effects
Disadvantages: not on enough!

Londons Burning is areally good action programme, the characters and story lines are excellent and have you on the edge of your seat! The fires and resues are so incredibly realistic, you really worry!!! The thing I like about it is you feel you get to know the characters so well and this helps you get into it, as it deals a lot with thier out of hours lives too. Plus it also gives you the funny side too so you can have a giggle as well as a cry!!. ...

Programme to Commit Suicide To

Advantages: realistic
Disadvantages: sad, depressive, bland

Loads of people have had a go at EastEnders for being dreary and dull: when was the last time you saw an outburst of joy on the Bluewatch? I had to stop watching this programme because I ended up just feeling even worse abotu Sunday nights than I already did. Even with school the next day, this is possible. Alhtough there is the argument that it is true to life, surely people cannot find this rather sad portrayal of London life in the emergency ...
...hear you think. 'It's meant to be realistic'. Fair comment if you are watching Big Brother, but when I watch drama I want to be entertained. I want to have good time occasionally. London's Burning is sad, depressing and getting to be so drawn out that it isn't even comic anymore. Mind you, it's a Sunday night, and what is the competition on terrestrial? ...

Good mix of action and soap opera

Advantages: good mix of action and soap opera type viewing
Disadvantages: series constantly being taken off air, then back again.

London's Burning has been going for absolutely yonks and its still going strong. The writers of this programme must have really warped minds to be able to come up with such a large number of disasters involving fire and they must be congratulated for that. The special effects in this programme are absolutely superb. The only thing is that in the last series, we sawa bit of a move away from fire fighting more towards the personal lives of the firefighters. ...
...relationship. This isn't, however, necessarily a criticism as it keeps you interested in whether or not the firefighters fry in the latest fire. Also, too many huge explosions and they'll just wash over you. In this way, when there is a big storyline, you appreciate it all the more. ...

Just keeps on getting better...

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

When London's Burning first came out it was so boring - it was not a drama or soap opera and it simply involved the men fighting different fires in each episode with no real information to the station or their backgrounds. But since the show has been modernised and brought into the new millennium it has improved greatly and become like a soap. The initial drama is still there but now it has got even better! Each series sees tragedy and the introduction ...

Burning nicely

Advantages:
Disadvantages:

Londons burning began a few a years ago as a dramatic stunt filled look into the lives of firefighters in London, with a bit of humour thrown in. Since then it has grown, the fires have been reduced and it now centres on the private lives of the team, with their work pushed to the background. Although I've always enjoyed this show, especially some of the breathtaking stunts, lately I feel that there are too many deaths. Firefighting may be a dangerous ...
...cliffhanger at the end of every series for the sake of ratings? - I think not. That aside though, the characters are brilliant, and my favourite has to be poison, who's now going to be a father! I also feel that it wouldn't be the same without the original surviving cast members and I can only hope that they won't be killed off. There also seems to be a trend that the chief is changed every series. I think the new chief really fits in with the rest ...

Advantages: we have got to know the characters more
Disadvantages: not enough fires

where have all the fires gone, where are the naughty kids with matches, the drunk who comes home and feels hungry so puts some chips on and then falls asleep.Londons burning was one of my favourite drama programes, but now it is slipping.Even though it is a good idea to use storylines so we get to know the characters,we still need action,it seems when we finally do get action a loved character looks like they are going to die. This seems to happen more ...

Blackwalls Family Station

London's Burning is a very realistic drama. The show is based at Blackwall station in London. Its mainly shows Blue watch, but others are shown too!! Maggie, is the Station's cook and has found it hard to get used to the Kitchen in the new Building. Poision's wife has recently given birth to a beautiful baby girl called Eve. Sally is lost without Joe, as she had finally agreed to marry him. Earlier this series Sally got date raped by the Sub of a rival watch. London's Burning brightly

Advantages: Very entertaining
Disadvantages: None

London's Burning is one of ITV's most popular and enduring series. As old favourites have left the show (usually through a dramatic death) new characters have soon become favourites. Set in London, the programme is based on the lives of the fire-fighters working in Blackwall Fire Station and their "shouts" ie all the fires and accidents that they attend. This hour long programme is always dramatic, funny and true to life. Real firemen that I know ...
...on the TV such as The Bill. The only surviving member of the cast from the first episode is Glen Murphy who plays George Green, a recently divorced father of 2 who is an amateur boxer. Although he looks tough he is actually a softie. George is the only fire-fighter to have not been given a nickname by his colleagues. In the past 'Vaseline' was my favourite character and the holder of best nickname! Other characters include Sally 'Gracie' Fields, ...

Burnt out

Advantages: used to be good
Disadvantages: burnt out

Itv's London's burning was a great concept that has now "burnt out". The show is now boring and tired looking. It used to be a great sunday night show which I watched avidly but it is now just full of very weak plots and charactors. Can some one please give sicknote along term one? It used to have some realistic and had very dramatic fire scene's but now a days they just look like they have re editted last weeks fire scene.Unfortunately this show ...
