    It was around 4 years ago when my Finacee Jason (WormThatTurned) suggested going to a Ciao meet. I was still only a blue dot at the time and seemed to spend more time on Ciao putting my foot in it then 'making friends' so we decided against it. Four years on though and whilst I am still only a rubbish shade of purple I seem to have got more into the community side of Ciao and talk to quite a few members outside of Ciao.     It's a Monday morning at work and I have just logged onto Ciao, today my guest book is hive of activity and I am overcome by all the lovely messages I have received from my fellow ciaoers about the London Ciao Meet.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Didn't get to talk to everyone, and didn't hug a few people.

    As a lot of you probably already know, Lizzie (LIZKEMPO) had been busy arranging the London meet since July. A lot of hard work and organisation went into it. I hadn't been around on ciao for about 8 months, due to lots going on in my life, but had been getting lots of alerts in my emails. One day in Sept I decided to make time to log in and check out my GB for messages, and how glad I am that I did.     Well, 50 up. Which presents me with a kind of quandary. Now, I know that tradition states that I should be writing about Ciao right now, or at least write something based around Ciao. But I didn’t really fancy that, and after reducing my CD collection down into Top 10s recently, I didn’t really want to try and reduce Ciao members down the same way. I’m out of Nurofen, for a start, and I didn’t really want to offend anyone!     To tell the truth, I didn't really expect to be writing this op. At 4pm on Thursday I was telling people to have a good time, and to have a drink for me. At 4.30 I was sending messages to Iain (SohoBlack) saying I was thinking of coming...and at 5.15 I was on the train out of Cambridge and on my way to Kings Cross...and I'm so glad I make impulsive decisions sometimes!     I’m not sure this is really a Ciao meet – I believe everyone present is on Ciao, though I think we all started on Dooyoo. The reality anyway is it was more of a Tooyoo meet, so I don’t feel so bad writing about it here!     The Mouse's view Raffi started his meet proposal review with the heading Are you a man or a(nony)mouse – well, I'm definitely a mouse. You'll notice the absence of a photo on my page. I've been well criticized for not automatically returning reads.     Last night we had a mini meet at Borders in Oxford Street. But although there was only five of us, we made up what we were lacking in numbers by the amount of noise we made. At about 4pm that day there was a flurry of emails and guestbook messages from and to me – “What are you wearing?” as this was my first meet.     With much excitement we said “goodbye” to the kids and set off for London town. Ten minutes later we said “hello again” to the kids and switched the computer back on. Thirty minutes later, we had the hotel booking receipt and the directions to said hotel printed off, the PC switched off and had said “goodbye” to the kids and once again were on our way to London town.
