    Advantages Advantages Detailed entries, clear maps, English and Japanese, background info (culture & history etc.)

    My brother bought me this book for my 18th birthday, knowing that I was heading out to Japan in the following months. He chose it because he had been told it was the best, and I found it absolutely outstanding. The introduction, "Facts for the Visitor" pages were great for reading up on before I went - I learnt a bit about the food, the history, the culture, just enough to stop me from making any offenisve errors!
