A long Read to Freedom
Review of Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela by amicousins

Advantages: An insight into a Great Man!
Disadvantages: Uncertainty about pronouncing nouns

...dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended.' This book has reminded / motivated me to not give up. Although from time to time I might take a rest from live's trials and tribulations, that rest should only be to re-energise. If I am truely motivated to a cause I shouls return to participate in the struggle, and hopefully, particularly with the dignity that Nelson Mandela showed throughout his 30 or so years in prison. ... Long Read to Treasure
Review of Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela by wikidwika

Advantages: Educational-historically and personally
Disadvantages: Lengthy, unfamiliar African names may take some getting used to

It took me longer to read this book than any other i had read but boy was it worth it. The first thing that struck me about this book was its thickness, at 751 pages this is not a book to be taken lightly although once you start to read it the subject grips you and takes you right through to the 751'st page. The book is an autobiographical account of the life of Nelson Mandela and whilst there is a fair share of politics involved it does not deter ... Read review

The life and memories of the people's Hero
Review of Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela by radiation_vibe

Advantages: Captivating, Historically and otherwise educative, Enjoyable an Insightful
Disadvantages: None

...and despite it being relatively long (approximately 751 pages, Abacus) I was gripped from beginning to end and finished it within two days. I began reading this book on recommendation of a friend and decided to get stuck into and that I did. The story stayed with me from start to finish and I found some of the most memorable quotes that I can ever think of in such a powerful and compelling life story of a man who can only be called a hero in the struggle ... Review of Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela by dawn_ash

Advantages: A truly captivating read
Disadvantages: It's a long read and hard going at times

...and is rewarded with a long stay in an extremely harsh prison. Even through this Mandela conveys hope and optimism that one day his dream of an apartheid-free nation will one day come to fruition. The story is a truly uplifting experience. You will become a better person for reading this book. Persist with it; it's a long story, but one that is worth reading every last page. If any man deserves your attention this much it's Nelson Mandela. ... Read review

A Compelling Story
Review of Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela by ICATJAM

Advantages: Informative
Disadvantages: Inexperienced readers may find it long and linguistically difficult

At last I found the quality time in my life to read the story of this living legend. The story of just a man but a man with the strongest convictions of any man in history. A man who lived through his imprisonment to see his dream begin. I say begin because as we know there are still many injustices in his country which are not yet ironed out. Mnay things have been said in previous reveiws and I shall not attempt to repeat them. i only say that this ... Read review

Long Walk to Freedom
Review of Long Walk to Freedom - Nelson Mandela by GCREELMAN

Advantages: Gives a great insite into the life of a great man
Disadvantages: Lots of names which are hard to pronounce and hard to remember

I found this book very interesting but hard going to read. There were so many unusual names in it to remember. On reading the book I started off well but as I got into it I found that there were so many unusual names of people he had contact with that it was hard to remember them all while progressing through the book. I found that I had to put it down half-way through and go back to it at a later This book gives great insite into the life of ... Read review
