Advantages: Great interesting and honest account of Alan's life so far Disadvantages: Ended too soon
Alan Carr is not someone who I was very familiar with until recently. He came to my attention when I watch by chance his Celebrity Ding Dong show. I can honestly say that I don't think I had laughed so much at a single show in a very long time. After I told my hubby about him he though he would treat me to his new book when he spotted it in the shops. The book is a hard back edition white has a picture of Alan smiling and a white back ground. The ... ...small body of a weight lifting man and lots of funny things behind it. The face of Alan which we see is actually the one on the cover of the book as there is a cut out hole in it. The book has 12 chapters which all have titles with a football theme. Alan starts the book talking about his childhood and how his father had been a professional footballer and was trying to push him to follow in his footsteps. Alan was never any good at sports let alone ...

Advantages: Interesting story, easy to read Disadvantages: None for me
It's been a relatively short space of time since Alan Carr first became prominent on our TV screens on Channel 4's The Friday Night Project, which he first hosted on the 6th January 2006 with co host Justin Lee Collins. The series itself had enjoyed an eight week run the previous year hosted by Jimmy Carr (no relation to Alan just a spooky coincidence) but for the second series Channel 4 wanted new presenters and amongst those chosen was Alan Carr. ... ...point you could quite smugly say "and the rest is history..." "Look Who it is!" published at the latter end of 2008, just in time for a Christmas stocking filler is Alan Carr's autobiography. I often scorn at all of these "new" celebrities rushing out their autobiographies, often barely before their pubescent acne has cleared up. Whilst on the other hand I hold great respect for those more established "stars" like Michael Parkinson or Dawn French ...

Advantages: Great front cover, hysterically funny Disadvantages: Some parts seemed a little too rushed
''Alan is the spiritual son of Frankie Howerd''. (Quote from City Life) I think that says it all….
With big thanks to my boyfriends sister I am now the very proud owner of Alan Carr's 'Look who it is' book. It is immediately going to be added to my vast collection of autobiographies and I shall make certain that it gets the hot spot where the morning sun can warm its fringe, it deserves a shrine! I am not exaggerating when I say it is the most hysterically ... ...Initially I thought Peter Kay's was amusing but this beats it by a mile. The front cover is an instant attraction. Alan has portrayed himself to be at a seaside resort and he has been photographed with his face on a little man with huge muscles lifting weights. Is he trying to convince us that he has little muscles but just hides them away, no! If you flap open the front cover you will see the real Alan underneath in all his glory, the chubby chap ...

This review is for the hardback version of 'Look Who It Is! My Story:' by Alan Carr
Alan Carr has long been on my radar as a great comic presenter and comedian. As one half of the presenting dynamo for 'The Friday/Sunday Night Project', Alan has long been using making me laugh with camp humour, innuendo and cutting sarcasm. With expectations high I delved into his autobiography….
His TV persona always seems deeply rooted in reality despite his ... ...told how he can't quite believe what his life is like at the moment now he's in the public eye. I've heard this from many a 'celebrity' before but there is something more genuine here; Alan understands what has made him famous and is grateful for it without over-the-top gushing.
The first couple of chapters deal with his childhood, from being born in Weymouth and moving all across the country as his father's work dictated. Alan's dad, Graham Carr, ...

Advantages: Laugh out loud funny Disadvantages: Has a premature end to the book
When I received this book for Christmas, i was really happy. I had seen Alan Carr on Friday/Sunday night project and thought he was quite funny. Then when his stand up show The Tooth Fairy was on channel 4, I loved it, it was hilarious and I found myself sitting laughing out loud (my dog got a bit frieked out at my outbursts). I had been thinking of getting the book, but thought I'd wait till after Christmas in the hope of picking up a copy cheaply. ... ...of Alan Carr, his ups and downs of being the son of a well known footballer and football manager, being expected to follow in his fathers footsteps. Being picked on for his looks, and eventually for his femininity. Life at college and how he discovered that stand up was his forte and the way forward for him. The book has 300 pages and has two sections of colour pictures. This is the hardback copy and is available on amazon at 9.49. My Opinion - Alan ...

Advantages: Laugh out loud funny from start to finish. Disadvantages: A bit short, would liked to have read more i was that addicted!
Alan Carr is a stand-up comedian & television presenter who has risen to fame in the last couple of years. He must be a very busy man, he presents The Sunday Night Project (previously known as The Friday Night Project) he has his own series called 'Alan Carr's Celebrity Ding Dong' in which two teams of celebrities are pitted against each other & answer questions to determine who's best i.e. 'I'm a Celebrity' Contestants VS 'Big Brother' contestants. ... ...his very camp nature & you will either love him or hate him… I love him!
I absolutely love Alan Carr, I'm not a great book reader therefore was a bit sceptical as to whether this book could hold my attention or not. However i gave into temptation when i saw this book in the half price sale for £9.99 & bought it. I was immediately hooked. It begins with a quick preface which talks about things that are happening in the present but then quickly gets ...

I read Alan Carr's Bio when i ws on holiday a few weeks ago and throughout the book I could not stop laughing. I would recommend it to anyone who loves comedy and Alan Carr, even if you do not like him you will feel for him and will see you share the same experiences.

Advantages: Extremely hilarious! Disadvantages: None that i know of, a great read.
I am a keen fan of The Sunday Night Project and i have seen Alan Carr's stand up numerous times and still laugh! I received his autobiography as a Christmas present and as i opened it i wondered whether he would stay serious about life events in the book or if he'll stay himself. I started to read the intro and i started crying with laughter and i haven't put it down since! At one point i had cramp in my leg i was laughing so much. He is so witty ... ...books where he only makes a few jokes, i was laughing throughout even through the sad parts. If you like Alan Carr on the Sunday Night Project or Ding Dong definately buy this book, unlike other comedians i think that Carr's book stand out the most because of his amazing sense of humour and his view of the world around him. I would give his book a 10/10. ...
