Advantages: Immense storyline, great gameplay Disadvantages: not a thing
Lost Odyssey is an immense game that fits into the RPG genre and it was developed by Mistwalker Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios exclusively for the Xbox 360. The game was released in February (29th) 2008 and produced by the "master of all RPG's" Hironobu Sakaguchi, the man that brought the world Final Fantasy and other legendary classics.
The opening cut scene shows us a mighty, grim battle taking place between warring nations; The ... ...in particular that is specifically designed to make the player laugh. Lost Odyssey is a fantastic story full of sorrow, humour, deceit and many twists. Any fan of RPG's or even just a good storyline, it is recommended that you consider adding this game to your collection.

Advantages: Immersive story, fantastic graphics, cool characters, huge game. Disadvantages: Maybe not original enough?
Lost Odyssey is a Role Playing Game that was created by the same creator behind the legendary Final Fantasy series. Understandably the game had a lot of hype behind it, and in my opinion the game is a huge success. The adventure begins in a battlefield where two heavily armoured sides fight one another, with huge magic driven machines aiding each side. Kaim, the player controlled character is fighting for Uhra, and he single-handed begins to turn ... ...him an "Immortal". Kaim has lost all of his memories, and on the way to regaining all 1000 years of them he reveals a twisted plot to rule the world, stored in his own brain. It then becomes his duty; along with several other characters he meets along the way, to stop this evil plan. The game is set in a magical continent, which has recently progressed through a "Magic Revolution" in where the citizens have discovered how to use magic, and in turn ...

...in the game. Kaim has lost his memories, the past 1000 years mysteriously stripped from him. Kaim is not the only immortal wandering the Earth searching for his past. Throughout the game you meet more immortals who have forgotten the last millennium and some intriguing non immortal characters that each have there own individualistic style of play. Unlocking these memories proves the key to thwarting a sinister plot that threatens two worlds. ==Gameplay== ... ...use a skill. Weapons in Lost Odyssey are a little on the dull side as they only attribute to attack but every weapon that you use has a new image on screen and in battle so that in a small way breaks up some of the more repetitive battles when training. Magic is the same thing that is used in many RPG?s with the use of elements, although some of the more secret magic types have to be obtained through battles with the bearer of the spells. Advantages: Old-School JRPG, Looks Well, Lasts Long, Worth The Money Disadvantages: Maybe A Bit Too Hard For Some
...as coasters. But in comes Lost Odyssey, does it re-invent the JRPG? Does it bring a fresh new battle system? Is it a revolution? The answer is no, it does none of these things, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The strength of Lost Odyssey is held in the fact that it sticks to close to traditional JRPGs, it actually brings back those fond memories of gaming days past.
The story, which is central to any RPG, revolves around an "Immortal" name ... ...with his immortality and has lost his memory, so you must set out to recover your memory and also get to the bottom of the massacre. The story is deep and engrossing, its for a mature audience, involving many twists and turns and a whole lot of political fun. Advantages: Powerful story, gorgeous grahics, gets the most out of the basic linear RPG genre Disadvantages: Cliched gameplay, slightly difficult to pick up.

Lost odyssey is a brilliant story driven game created by the mastermind who brought us the final fantasy series. Lost odyssey is Hironobu Sakaguchi's second attempt at a jrpg afta leaving Square Enix.
Story:
The story of the game is not based on just one character but for characters who in the game are names immortals because they cannot die. After a meteor strikes a war and wipes out both armies only 1 warrior was left standing Kaim Argonar. After ... ...more damage.
Visuals;
Graphically Lost Odyssey is stunning!!! it shows that the xbox 360 still have some hidden power still left inside. Clearly to me this has to be the best looking game on the console. However with all these great visuals there are some flaws such as long load time during battles and cutscenes and some drops in framerate during battle. Drops in framerates can easily be ignored but long load times during cutscenes ruin the experience. ...

Advantages: Wonderful graphics and very atmospheric Disadvantages: Too many cut scenes
This game is highly enjoyable and beautiful to look at too.
It has a wonderful immersive storyline and characters who can relate to. The music and sound are very atmospheric and really helps to set the scene.
The storyline is original and you find yourself playing it more because you want to see what happens. The fighting system is very Final Fantasy based but it very easy to get the hang of. It has a large area to explore and many side quests ... ...from the creators of final Fantasy and with this game they don't disappoint.
Only problem I did have with the game was the cut scenes they were very well done but there were too many. I thought they could have less of these and maybe more game play.
Overall though I would recommend this game as it is a joy to play. ...

...a journey to regain his lost memeries and discover his identity. Many of Kaim's memeories are returned in the form of dreams that reveal fragments of story of his life. Kaim meets others on his journey and together the set out to stop an evil that is threatening the world. The battles are turned based like those in the Final Fantasy games but the developers have added an extra element in the form of a ring system in which players can build different ... ...gain damage bonuses. It works by overlapping a target ring with an aim ring. The aim ring appears once the trigger button is held down and moves towards the target ring. Letting go of the trigger button as it overlaps the target ring gives the fighter a damage bonus. The game is addictive and will have you playing for hours on end. I ...

Advantages: Excellent graphics, fun characters, absolutely huge! Disadvantages: Can't think of any as yet.
I recently bought Lost Odyssey for my partner, well it was for both of us really as I really wanted to watch him play it. Overall I think this is a fantastic game. The graphics are as you would expect, awesome, the scenes are nearly always beautiful and the levels are all pretty huge and well layed out. The characters are all very good, especially Janson who adds a little humour to the story, whereas Kaim (the main man) is very serious but the fact ... ...sometimes quite easy to get lost in. The story is pretty long, we have got 40hours of gameplay in so far with no hint of the end.
Another thing that i think is really cool, is when you get in a battle, the graphics stay the same and most of the monsters you fight look very cool.
Overall I am very impressed, if you enjoy the Final Fantasy games then you will love this, as they are very similar. ...

Like final fantasy and mind blowing storylines? Then this game is for you. As a huge fan of the final fantasy series i was'nt sure if this game would match the standards of the franchise. But when i got it i was amazed at how good and how addictive the game is.The story is about a man named kaim who is emortal and has been wandering and fighting in battles for a thousand years and he goes on a quest to uncover his past and find out the reason why ... ...family members and other emortals like himself and they all discover that they are all linked together in some way or another. I got it free with a xbox 360 from hmv and thought that as it was free it wouldn't be much good but when i opened the case i saw 4 discs which was one good sign for me because i love long games. So anyway there are emotional scenes and evil enemys to face but if you are looking for a tough and long game you got it. It took ...

Advantages: the fighting, maybe?? Disadvantages: to long, dull and boring
Im quite lost with this game to be honest. Its fun to play, but it can get boring at times. The fighting is the same as Final Fantasy (made by the same guy), but way to much walking around. The puzzles can be quite intense at times. The fighting is the best part in my opinion, but then again aint all fighting?. I also found the "dreams" quite boring, and would just skip through them. And the game is kinda flawed, he is ment to be Immortal, but you ... ...have just gone along with the theme that is will live forever, but can still die from death. You get it? On second thought, after reviewing this, dont buy it, your much better off with Final Fantasy to be honest. Or just save your money, put it in a bank and buy your self a better X-Mas Gift. ...
