Advantages: Fairly refreshing.
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive. Not sure that it lives up to its claim of increasing energy levels significantly.

Advantages: Effective - it really does give you a boost of energy, tastes good for an isotonic drink, replenishes lost electrolytes
Disadvantages: Expensive, probably bad for your teeth, contains artificial sweetener aspartame

I have been using Lucozade Sport, an isotonic drink, for quite some time now. I was not persuaded to use this product because of the advertising with the claim that it helps you to last “33% longer”, I just bought a bottle one day from the vending machine in my sports centre because I needed a drink. Lucozade Sport was first launched in the UK in 1993 by the then company SmithKline Beecham - now GlaxoSmithKline. It was promoted with that classic advert with John Barnes in a locker room drinking the stuff from a can then dropping it, and kicking it into the bin - an advertising classic! I opened it up (with no problems at all- unlike some bottles of juice I have bought in the past) as soon as I had coughed up £1.35 for the 500 ml bottle (very expensive I feel but thirst has to be quenched and I had disobeyed my thirst by not buying Sprite so I suffered by paying more) and took a few large gulps.
