Advantages: helps during intense activity Disadvantages: expensive
Lucozade sport isotonic energy drink. As I write a bottle of this human petrol stands before me. Now if you’re like me when I first came across it, I’m guessing you think it’s like ambrosia for athletes. The reason I began drinking it was not because I saw Michael Owen sprinting on my television and then claiming it was all due to Lucozade sport, however it was slightly influential. However the reason I began drinking it was because a lot of my badminton ...

Advantages: refreshing, tastes quite nice Disadvantages: doesn't do much for me, a bit pricy
** What is it **
Lucozade sport is an isotonic drink of the still variety and comes in two main flavours orange and lemon. The idea is that this energy drink gives your body a boost by providing carbohydrate fluid quickly to the working muscles and to replace the fluid lost through sweat.
** Reason I purchased **
The reason I first purchased this drink was that knowing it was still I wouldn't get a stitch during training and the fact that ...

...wee lad being practically force-fed Lucozade by my mother anytime I was confined to bed with any ailment or other.
Not that you would have heard me complaining, mind you. It was/is totally delicious.
At that time (50’s and 60’s) about the only place you could buy Lucozade was in a chemists’ shop, as it was looked upon as a drink that was only given to people to assist in their recovery from illness.

Advantages: Effective - it really does give you a boost of energy, tastes good for an isotonic drink, replenishes lost electrolytes Disadvantages: Expensive, probably bad for your teeth, contains artificial sweetener aspartame
I have been using Lucozade Sport, an isotonic drink, for quite some time now. I was not persuaded to use this product because of the advertising with the claim that it helps you to last “33% longer”, I just bought a bottle one day from the vending machine in my sports centre because I needed a drink. I decided to try the Lucozade sport as an alternative to the bottled water on offer, soft drinks were also on offer but these are not ideal to use when ...

Advantages: A nice drink Disadvantages: only a couple
...I noticed an offer for Lucozade sport, it was two for £1.30 and seeing as I was feeling a little flush I thought I would splash out and buy them.
I am not really a big drinker of juice as I prefer tea, and anyway the name Lucozade conjours up images of when I was a lot younger, and when you were ill, out came the bottle of Lucozade, the cure for all illnesses, I can still remember having to drink it and I couldn't stand the taste of it, I still ...

Advantages: Everything you could need from a sports drink, great for driving as well! Disadvantages: none!
Lucozade Sport was first launched in the UK in 1993 by the then company SmithKline Beecham - now GlaxoSmithKline. It was promoted with that classic advert with John Barnes in a locker room drinking the stuff from a can then dropping it, and kicking it into the bin - an advertising classic! Since then the brand has grown to become the UK's number one sports drink and the 5th biggest soft drink in the UK impulse market!! Quite an acheivement from a ...

...working out interesting at all! Lucozade has always been a drink I've avoided as I've always associated it with those crazy people who like to keep-fit and play sport. But now I've started to go to the gym to try and tone up a bit I decided to try it as I need all the help I can get energywise! Since I first tried it, I've also started buying it to drink at work to help me get through the day when I'm lacking in energy a little.

Switch on your Brain with Lucozade Sport Alert
A few mornings ago I was feeling tired and in definite need of a caffeine hit when lo and behold I was given a sample of the new Lucozade Alert at Kings Cross station. The day was starting to look up already.
This new Lucozade was just launched in April so it's a very new product, hence the give away to entice customers. It is Lucozade's first stimulation drink (much like the benefits of Red Bull) ...

...in the medicinal properties of lucozade and as a young child I loved the taste, but money was tight and back in those days lucozade was only sold in chemists and was an expensive treat.
Nowadays lucozade has re-invented itself and moved away from the health market. It is now available in all supermarkets, newsagents, corner shops and garage forecourts where it can be found in the refrigerators side by side with familiar soft drinks like Coca-Cola. ...

...that currently flood the marketplace, Lucozade and the Lucozade Sport brand have always had a pretty good reputation, and rather than providing the caffeine filled stimulation of the Red Bull style drinks, focus more on energy replenishment and isotonic style substances, which supposedly offer an increased performance and energy boost rather than just making you feel wider awake.

I opened it up (with no problems at all- unlike some bottles of juice I have bought in the past) as soon as I had coughed up £1.35 for the 500 ml bottle (very expensive I feel but thirst has to be quenched and I had disobeyed my thirst by not buying Sprite so I suffered by paying more) and took a few large gulps.
It was actually quite pleasant. It had just come from the fridge and was very refreshing ...

Lucozade Sport is a still isotonic drink which comes in four flavours being Orange, Mixed Berry, Lemon and Grapefruit. For the purpose of my review the flavour i tested was Orange.
