    Advantages Advantages Pure creamy butter

Disadvantages Disadvantages Basically all fat, but who cares

Every American male or female, has childhood memories of making butter at school. Then, they would come home and excitedly announce to Mom and Dad, that they know how to make butter and insist on showing their parents how to make it. I am no different to any other American. I have very vivid images of putting that double cream into a jar, adding some salt, putting on the lid of the jar and shaking until butter is made. There was nothing quite like the feeling of satisfaction and gratification that one got after making a batch of delicious homemade butter. My middle daughter, who is now nearly ... more

    Advantages Advantages Rich creamy taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Makes a poor spread.

Landlubber Lurpak? Yes, nothing salty about this version of butter. For those who are on a salt free diet what could be better to spread on your bread than unsalted Lurpak butter? Well just about any English unsalted farm butter beats it hands down for taste actually, no bones about it Lurpak unsalted does not stack up well as a spread, but of course this is not what it was made for. Where Lurpak unsalted comes into its own is in the cookery department, English farm butters, although excellent for taste, tend to have a lot of free liquid in them, this of course means a lot of spatter if you ... more

Advantages Advantages Smooth, Creamy and distinctive

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be a bit pricey depending on where you shop

I’m cannot be the only one who enjoys butter- solely in the UK we consume more than £220 million worth of butter a year! thats about enough butter to spread on over 4 billion slices of toast, butter 2 billion sandwiches or melt over 2.5 billion jacket potatoes... One thing is for sure - in my humble opinion no other butter has distinctive taste of Lurpak. 1000g of milk is required for each 50g of Lurpack butter. So if I buy butter at the local supermarket, I always buy Lurpack, particulalry when following a recipe that calls for butter as a mani ingredient. I have not personally come accross ... more

Advantages Advantages Delicious. High Quality. Creamy

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can think of

Lurpak butter is distinguished by its natural, delicate, taste which to me brings out the flavour of food so well. Its unbeatable taste and quality makes it my very favourite butter. The product is churned out in Denmark using the finest creams for which this Scandinavian country has a world wide reputation. Actually Lurpak celebrated its first centenary on October 23,2001 and currently the Danish company produces five types of butter. These are: classic slightly salted butter unsalted butter two spreadable butters flavoured butter-this is only available in the Danish market. Lurpak is,of course ... more

THE GREATEST BUTTER EVER I have purchased Lurpack Butter for very many years and it tastes great for many reasons as follows: Out of all the butter brands I have tried over the years Lurpack is the very best. It has a very creamy taste and is great for spreading on bread, scones, baguettes, brioche, crossiants. It is great for using in Scones, Cakes, bread and butter pudding adding to potatoes and vegetables. It leaves no aftertaste in your mouth unlike other brands of butter. At an average of 95p a 250g block in most supermarkets it is excellent value for money for it's outstandingly good ... more

    Advantages Advantages Creamy Tasty Vesatile

Disadvantages Disadvantages A Bit More Expensive

Wherever I have lived I have been fortunate enough to find the that the local shops and supermarkets stock my very favourite butter which is Lurpak from Denmark. The Danish people have a reputation for producing excellent dairy products and one of the very finest of these items is Lurpak butter. The creameries in the Kingdom of Denmark are world renowned and their standards are very high-it shows in this fine butter. What is so special about Lurpak you might well ask ? Well I think it is the creamiest butter I have ever tasted. Its o smooth and easy to spread and its taste is nothing other ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tastes gorgeous

Disadvantages Disadvantages Has to be out of fridge for a while before you can spread it

Lurpak unsalted butter is gorgeous. It is lovely on toast, crumpets, teacakes, muffins... Because its unsalted you can feel less guilty! PRICE I usually buy it for around £1.25. It is widely available. STORAGE Store in the fridge-its best to get it out about 15mins before you need it to make it easier to spread. It can also be frozen. One thing i love doing is cutting it into slabs, then mixing each slab with crushed garlic and fresh chopped parsley- then freeze each slab in seperate bags. These garlic butter slabs can then be used to make garlic bread, garlic mushrooms and other recipes. WHO ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Lurpak Danish Butter by squelchy64 13/02/2008
Aboslutely scrummy. It is so soft and spreads easily and it doesn't leave that greasy feeling in your mouth like other butters do. I highly recommed it to butter buffs!

    Advantages Advantages free gifts

    Disadvantages Disadvantages getting them

They are stopping giving away goodies. People who have complained to them have been told this, I only found out by checking the forum section. Great public relations. They say new items are on order but will we get what we want? Will all points be redeemed? What happened to the mousemat that I won? Who knows, Lurpak doesn't seem to care. And to add insult to injury one person who just joined and has a mere 200 points claims to have received a parcel with everything ever given out by Lurpak including a mobile phone. What price loyalty. If you are collecting the loyalty points keep checking on ... more
