Advantages: Great range of shades to suit everyone Disadvantages: Quite expensive
MAC sell a few different types of concealer, but the ones that I am reviewing are MAC Studio Finish Concealer and MAC Studio Stick Concealer. I should point out that the purpose of these concealers is to cover blemishes - this may seem obvious, but light-diffusing concealers have become very popular lately; the purpose of these is to brighten and highlight certain areas of the face, rather than cover them (MAC sell one of these too in case you are ... ...- the same pot that MAC eyeshadows come in for those of you who have seen a MAC eyeshadow (a pot I am very familiar with, having over 30 MAC eyeshadows!!!). For those of you who haven't, the pot is a circular shape, measuring 3 1/2 cm across, and with a depth of 1 1/2- 2cm. It is made of black plastic, except for the flip-top lid which is mostly clear, and has the MAC logo printed on it in black. You get 7g of product in a pot.

In some ways though, I can understand the obsession. After being introduced to the different pigment colors of MAC, I found my fave eyeshadow. Then, this little *Gem* of a concealer. So, suffice to say, I will be checking out more MAC cosmetics as my current cosmetics supply starts ... ...i've always paid for it. MAC stuff isn't normally "cheap" but it's not really expensive either. This stuff is around the same price as most of the same in Clinque or Lancome and works 10 times better. The consultant there recommended, based on my age, skin tone and skin type MAC Select Moisture Cover, in shade NC20 (one of the lightest shades). The shade is lighter than I would have chosen myself - this just goes to show how clueless I am when it comes to make up. Although the bottle seems dinky, and is only 5ml, a little really does go a long way. The thin little bottle ... ...is different. Online, from MAC itself, you'll pay £11.26 for this - elsewhere, you can expect to pay anywhere between £10 - £15, probably less at some discounters. Used sparingly, you should get decent value for money, as premium make-up brands go. As a non habitual make-up wearer, I can recommend this concealer. ...

...worse, I decided to give MAC a try. The assistant matches you up with a shade that suits you, and because there's a much larger range of colours then with cheaper brands, it's easier to find one that is an (at least almost!) perfect match for your skin tone. They also have a variety of different concealers to suit what it is exactly that you are trying to conceal. I wanted one for both blemishes and under eye circles, and was reccommended this one. ... ...have heard negative things about MAC make up's effect on skin. However, I honestly do not think this product has had anything other then a positive effect on my skin.
I am so glad that I found this. I don't think I will ever look elsewhere when the time comes for another concealer.

...but i have to say Mac concealer is my favourtie. It lasts a long time, i had one for months, i think it added up to a year, it can blend in with my skin tone easily and it dosen't look to fake or chalky. It gives a naturaul look, gives a subtle glow and makes my skin look healthy and fresh. It dosen't make my skin look too cakey. Mac concealers, for me, are about the best there is for two very important reasons. Firstly, there's the colour range. The concealers are available in the same selection of shades as their foundations, which means that whether you have pink or yellow based skin, are very fair or dark, there's almost certainly going to be a shade to suit you. I love mac makeup! this concealer works really good! I use it to cover up my dark circles under my eyes and to cover up blemishes. Its lightweight and it blends well into your skin. it best to set up an appointment with a makeup artist to see which shade is the best for you. this concealer is a little expensive, it comes in a really nice package and it will last you for along time. I also recomend to use the pressed powder by mac , after using the ... ...well as myself that uses this concealer and other products. this concealer can easily be removed when washing, but it will last on your face all day and you dont really need to reapply it, you should never over-do it on makeup, then it will look caked on looking. ...

Having spent many years looking for the perfect concealor (I have quite heavy under eye circles) I hit the jack pot when discovering this. It is an absolute must for those with dark undereyes. It has a great thick consistency and stays put all day. If put ontop of a good quality undereye cream there is even no need for a touch up before going out.
