Advantages Advantages Last FOREVER, versatile, good range to choose from

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Initial expense

When writing my top 10 beauty products recently, I was struggling towards the end and chose MAC pigments because they are such a versatile and high-quality product. Before I tried them out, I was under the impression that pigments were really just a way for the big dogs at MAC to make a quick buck, because they are pretty expensive. Now I understand a little better, I really think they're quite reasonable. In short, pigments are simply a loose powder which is rich in colour and can be used as more than just an eyeshadow. A little (and I mean VERY little) goes a long way, and expensive as they ... more

Advantages Advantages So many! - shade range, blend easily, different textures, pot lasts forever....

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very pricey but quite inexpensive considering the endless list of advantages!

MAC Pigments...well, what can I say about them? Not enough, in my opinion - I could rave about these little gems all day! I was first (indirectly) introduced to MAC Pigments on a make-up site I very often visit. A girl had posted a "Parrot Eye Tutorial" on the forum in which she used green, blue, orange, yellow Pigments - all of which looked absolutely stunning on her. Her technique appeared so advanced and professional and, although I wanted to imitate her eye look, I didn't think I would be able to apply my makeup in such a flawless way. I went out and purchased just one of the pigments she ... more

    Advantages Advantages High quality/value4money/Beautiful colours

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price-slightly expensive!!

MAC pigments are truly more than just any eye shadow!!! The first time i seen the MAC range, i was pretty dazzled by its vibrant and appealing colours - something which I have not seen before. They are nicely presented and lined up in pots that have been estimated to last you a lifetime! I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation as well as the actual content within these pots.... AMAZING. The first thing to be aware of is the smooth feel they hold. It is mega silky, unlike other cheap quality eye shadows, creases will never occur. The colour will not fade off with just a touch; it will ... more

Advantages Advantages Pigment does not streak or cake, is easy to blend and long-lasting.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite expensive

I've been using MAC Pigment for about a year now, they are basically a loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin. I always use an eye primer before application of the Eye pigment. I usually buy my pigment from the MAC website where they retail at £15, they come in a 7.5g pot which lasts me about 6 months so in my opinion its worth the price. I currently own Cornflower which is a blue colour, Golden Olive which is green and Fuschia which is purple. I apply the pigment with a brush and you can build the colour up for a deeper effect. If you wet an eye liner ... more

Advantages Advantages Easy to use, great range of colours, high quality product, doesn't crease

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price, can be messy

no. of shades available: 26 --What does the promo say?-- "Pigment is a highly concentrated loose colour powder that contains ingredients to help it adhere to the skin. Pigment comes in an excellent range of colours. Use to create a subtle wash of colour or an intense effect. Pigment does not streak or cake, is easy to blend and long-lasting." --Packaging-- The pigment comes in a small, transparent pot with a black screw-top lid (all made of plastic). The MAC logo graces the front of the pot in sophisticated black lettering. The pot is easy to open and close, and doesn't leak. --Application ... more

    * oooooooo pretty * I love Mac pigments , they colours are so bright and intense. There are so many different shades to pick from so where do you start. I have a couple of samples of pigments and I love them , A shade called milk which is a pale pink / white colour and mutiny which is a sky blue. * What pigments are used for *? The most common use is eye-shadow. You can apply these wet or dry. To apply dry just dip your brush in the pot and tap of extra product and place on your eyelids , i do find that you can get a bit off fall out if your not careful. Apply them wet buy adding a mixing ... more

Advantages Advantages Works better than other eyeshadows, stays on throughout the day, plenty of choice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, difficult to apply

I was first recommended MAC pigments through an online forum and I happily decided to try some samples. My other eyeshadows had started to feel useless - not only did they crease on application and wear out easily, but they were not very bright and it was difficult to tell different colours apart. MAC has a huge variety of pigment and I was surprised that it was in powder form, something I'd never really tried before. Though I found applying it a bit difficult and messy, the product worked amazingly - the colours were bright and blended together with other colours really well. Admittedly, you ... more

****Mac pigments**** I was drawn to these after alltheatglitterz21 on youtube was talking about how much she loved them. **Packaging** The packaging for these looks similar to the fluidline but it is plastic instead of glass and is a little bit bigger. I like this because there is less chance of me breaking it. **Product** These things are amazing!! they are super pigmented and the tiniest amount lasts ages. I have been using the one colour on and off for the last month and the tub looks like I have hardly touched it. I would totally recommend these. I don't like how they bring out some ... more

Advantages Advantages highly pigmented, good quality, goregous

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive, small

I never even knew about MAC pigments until I saw a review of them on You Tube. I was absolutely fascinated with them, because I had never known that they were even made, and was so surprised that they were like something that you have to make yourself pretty much. They could be used for eye shadows, blushes, and lipsticks too! I thought that it was incredible, and needed to try it out, but they were so expensive themselves. I was very disappointed that they were $20 each, but then I found a sample site, and wanted to try them out very very badly. The samples were only a few dollars. So I ... more

Advantages Advantages Versatile, good value for money, you will NEVER run out!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Take a little getting used to as they're loose powders.

I have a love affair with MAC, I admit I am a MAC junkie, an expensive but rewarding habit to keep! The first MAC product I tried was a pigment, Violet. Since those days I have over 50 jars and love them all. If you're looking for a shadow that will last for years, never crease, has colour that pops and comes in a variety of shades look no further. Yes the £15 a jar may seem like a lot but this is a seriously versatile product. The shade pink opal for example can also double up as a high lighter for under the brow as well as a cheek highlighter. You can use pigments dry as you would a normal ... more
