Advantages Advantages easy to play and lots of family fun

    Disadvantages Disadvantages can be frustrating

There are many games on the market these days with some being as dull as dish water whilst others offer lots of fun for people of all ages, and it is the latter that I intend to tell you about today. The game I am talking about, of which I have played many many times, both in the passed and very recently, may look a little bit strange at first glance, with the idea of pulling things from a persons body coming across as a bit gruesome, but it is in fact one of the funniest, and least offensive game I have had the pleasure of actually playing. What is the game called? It is simply called ... more

MB Game Operation Operation is a game of skill and dexterity that not a lot of people posses. Many have tried to take on the challenge of beating me but as yet none have managed it. This is one game I have the skills to be master of my own box game and one I still won’t let Jack beat me, no matter how many tears he sheds. Mummy is Operation Master. I first got the game operation when I was a lot smaller, probably around the 5 or 6 age range and would you believe that the game I have now is the very same one that mum held onto with the hope that grandchildren would be playing the same game. The ... more

Advantages Advantages It's funny & helps with co-ordination

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Tiny parts

When I was growing up one of my favourite board games to play was Operation, it was because of my love for this game that my nan was convinced I would grow up to be a nurse... this never happened, I faint when I see gory things and my head goes woozy when I see the smallest cut with a tiny bit of blood! The game Operation thankfully involves no blood and gore and it is good, clean fun. I'm still not sure what happened to my Operation game, however about 2 years ago my little brother James received Operation from Santa and I got to re-live my childhood all over again! The 'operating table' or ... more

Advantages Advantages A great traditional game

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be tricky for younger children

For me, the old games are the best which is why most of them are still going strong now and one of my favourite all time games is ‘operation’. I had this game as a child and loved it and my mother in law brought it for my son for Christmas. Many of the older style games such as Monopoly have been brought into the 21st century and updated to a degree where the game just isn’t the same anymore so I was pleased to find that Operation has been left well alone and is still the game it always was. The game consists of the playing board which shows a man lying down as if on the operating table. Over ... more

About:I was bought this game around 10 years ago as a christmas present. I never owned many board games and this one certainly was different to all the others I had seen. I still think it is rather different as not many games are interactive like this.I played once or twice with others but most of the time no one else wanted to play as it was not their thing, so I played one player most of the time. The board:The board sits on top of a red plastic tray which has shapes cut into it for the body parts to sit in. Outlining the entrance where the holes are also cut in the board, there is metal ... more

Operation is a game of skill and a steady hand is required if you want to do well and win against the other players. The aim of the game is to ‘perform surgery’ by using a pair of tweasers to take different body parts from a very sad man on the operating table who was nicknamed ‘Sam’. Though if you don’t keep your hand steady and hit the metal outlining of the boy’s body then this nose glows red, and a buzzer sounds loudly and you have failed your challenge. Each player takes it on turn to draw a card, and on each card you will find a body part that you will then need to pull out of ‘Sam’ ... more

Well what can be said about this game, I am sure everyone knows about the game operation, it's fun and entertainment for all the family. The game states that this is for aged 5+ and I think that is a reasonable age to have this game. When you open the box, you have a plastic bed with a man laid on it, the man has quite a few slots in his body that are empty, but they have metal on the bottom and the surrounding areas f these slots. In the slots is where you put the different body parts. You have a pair of tweezers that are attached to the bed by a little rope of plastic, which is where the ... more
