MCC Smart Limited

Update - I loved it so much I bought one. This op will now serve as a pre-owning review, and I will shortly be writing a comprehensive review on the MCC Smart Passion in its seperate category! The Smart is a ‘Micro Car’ or ‘Road Legal Go-Kart’ if you like. It’s produced by MCC (the Micro Car Company), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Daimler-Chrysler group. I sold the car mentioned below in 2004 to a very helpful Smart Car dealer in Hove,Sussex, because I bought a third car, a Mondeo Estate "banger" for my dogs. The reason for selling was that I could not find an insurance dealer who would insure three cars on the basis that my wife and I would be the only drivers, so one car would always remain undriven. I was refused even if I paid the insurance rate for the most expensive two of the three cars. I purchased my smart pulse in Sept 2001 and I loved it, I loved it so much that I was going to purchase a soft top version next year. However this has now changed. I took my smart to a licensed dealer/service centre for it's 2nd MOT and an A service. My Smart, which has only completed 3500miles, that I treat with tender loving care, failed it's MOT to the tune of £1500. After only 35000 miles it had broken suspension front and rear, broken manifold studs and a destorted manifold that needed replacing.
