Our recent experience with MFI has been a stressful disaster from start to finish. I have always known good things about MFI for their products and service until now. Having had a kitchen from MFI for over 18years gave me the confidence that nothing could possibly go wrong. I recently bought an MFI bathroom suite (toilet, sink, bath and shower). After placing my order I received a text message thanking me for choosing MFI and informing me of the contact details if I had a problem. About a week before my delivery I received an information pack informing me of the delivery procedure, to my suprise the pack also included a yellow balloon. On reading the information further I discovered that the balloon needed to be blown ...

Then came the awful task of checking my delivery, with MFI you only get 72 hours to check your delivery for missing or damaged items to get them replaced. Our Local MFI in Chester was so busy on Bank Holiday Sunday that afer standing around for a few minutes a gentleman approached us and asked if we would like to make an appointment for the Monday so that we weren't left hanging around to long (especially with a three year old - not very amusing for her!). The salesman did a lovely computer generated design and impressed us with his friendly style and reasonable prices. We paid our 20% deposit and were told to sit back and relax, the fitter would be in touch in due course to carry out his own survey to make sure everything was in order pending actual fitting in about five weeks time. ...the first place! MFI offered complete kitchen and bedroom fitments that you had to assemble yourself. They supplied full instructions in step by step drawings, complete with all fittings and screws. The pieces of wood would even have the screw holes ready made! All you needed was a screwdriver, a bradawl and a hammer. It was so simple to assemble that a child could do it, at least that what they were saying! I have brought many a bargain from MFI ...
...back pieces that were damaged, pieces that never had the pre drilled holes, and even the packet of fittings that were not even for that item. I have to say that a child could not put these pieces of furniture together. For a start, much of the pieces are much too heavy, and I have struggled many times to screw in a screw that just continues to turn or will not go in completely to the wood.
