Advantages: everything arrived on time and was as described
Disadvantages: delivery charges, sale prices that go down again frustratingly after you've made your purchase

Advantages: The quality of their merchandise is much better than in the old days.
Disadvantages: Customer service. Oh Dear, although not strictly MFI's fault.

...and decided to visit the MFI sale. We were impressed with the wide range of products in the store. The prices were very keen too - we chose two wardrobes, a chest of drawers and two bedside cabinets.The total cost of all these flat-pack items was £175.00! We then went looking for a salesperson – to their eternal credit they don’t descend on you as soon as you enter. The first thing that hit me about the store itself was the air conditioning – a welcome relief in this hot weather. Disadvantages: Units difficult to assemble

...adverts saying that prices at MFI were slashed only for the duration of the Bank Holiday weekend. The MFI salesman literally screamed the offers on the adverts and you felt like turning the TV off. In the 1970s we read the News of the World regularly. I recently bought an MFI bathroom suite (toilet, sink, bath and shower). After placing my order I received a text message thanking me for choosing MFI and informing me of the contact details if I had a problem. About a week before my delivery I received an information pack informing me of the delivery procedure, to my suprise the pack also included a yellow balloon. Our Local MFI in Chester was so busy on Bank Holiday Sunday that afer standing around for a few minutes a gentleman approached us and asked if we would like to make an appointment for the Monday so that we weren't left hanging around to long (especially with a three year old - not very amusing for her!). ...got a good deal from MFI on our new Hygena kitchen which we purchased from the Wigan showroom in February. The salesman did a lovely computer generated design and impressed us with his friendly style and reasonable prices. We paid our 20% deposit and were told to sit back and relax, the fitter would be in touch in due course to carry out his own survey to make sure everything was in order pending actual fitting in about five weeks time. Disadvantages: Not quite as cheap anymore

...brought many a bargain from MFI but I never learnt. I have had to take back pieces that were damaged, pieces that never had the pre drilled holes, and even the packet of fittings that were not even for that item. I have to say that a child could not put these pieces of furniture together. For a start, much of the pieces are much too heavy, and I have struggled many times to screw in a screw that just continues to turn or will not go in completely ... Read review
