the fastest MG ever. Only 505 were built and this has to be the ultimate hot hatch, because it was a normal everyday car a bit bland to some people but the MG marque breathed its fire on to it and it became the daddy. Inside it was pretty much the usual maestro story plasticy dash etc. but added to that gripping and very supportive seats enblazoned with the MG logo, leather stearing wheel, red seat belts. One disadvantage is the brakes deffinatley ...

Advantages: Great looks, esp the MG Turbo, cheap to run Disadvantages: Rust
...sold it and bought......., the MG Maestro Efi. Same shape, identical interior, a super 2litre engine and all the usual mod cons (electric windows, central locking, power steering etc). Since then, I have fitted a body kit from the Turbo version and now it looks the business!
The reliability is stunning, the engine is practically bullet-proof - especially when it has been looked after and with a bit of TLC, you can turn the car into a stunner. The ... ...arches and tailgate (boot). But again, with a bit of TLC, you can prevent it. My MG is an 'E' reg, and has no rust what-so-ever.
Overall, I have been a huge Maestro enthusiast since I bought the 1.3L, and I will be one for many years to come!!! ...

Advantages: reliable, quick, cheap Disadvantages: a bit naff really! And Very rusty.
...only downsides to this car were its unfashionable image, and the fact that on the ones I owned the only parts of them that didn't have rust were the windows!
I really liked these cars, it's good to see Rover doing such a good job with MG these days. ...
