DisadvantagesTiny screen in a none-standard res, bad graphics card

"This MSI Wind comes in many different flavours, the version I have is the Advent 4211. A rebadged MSI Wind by PC World. The MSI Wind is part of a new wave of "SSCs" (Small Cheap Computers). Low powered computers sold cheap. In general they come in two sizes (8" and 10"), most use the with the same hardware under the hood. The current standard is a Intel Atom 1.6GHz, between 512 MB and 1GB of RAM and a Intel 945 graphics adapter. The different brands ..." Read review

AMAZING Things Come In Small Packages

AdvantagesVery Portable, Easy To Use, Good Value For Money, Has A Webcam, Quite Fast

DisadvantagesKeys Can Be Hard To Press

"...students to office workers. The MSI WIND is a great addition to the large range of notebooks already on the market and is quite possible up there with the best. ''' A little bit about the WIND ''' The WIND was created by Taiwan based company Micro Star International. WIND stands for Wi-Fi Network Device so as you would probably imagine this was not designed for serious gaming. It was designed mainly for surfing the internet and typing up documents ..." Excellent value netbook

AdvantagesSmall and lightweight with good screen and keyboard size

Disadvantages3-cell battery only lasts 2 hours so buy one with a 6-cell battery

"I bought the MSI Wind U100 in October 2008 whilst on holiday in the US for just $380 and it is one of the best purchases I have made in the last year. I have used it every day since then and have had no problems at all with it. It is extremely portable due to its small size and low weight and does everything I need it to. My primary use for it is surfing the internet and typing up reports. I also make use of the built in card reader to transfer pictures ..." Read review

Quick review of MSI WIND U100

"Very nice notebook. Why I only voted this good... Firstly, if you plan on using CD/DVD's where you're at, you'll need a portable DVD player, which could be more clutter to carry around with you. Secondly, the screen size is a down point for me, personally. When I worked on an Excel document, I discovered that the screen doesn't show the whole document, and it actually moves with your mouse if you move to the corners. I guess it would have looked stupid if the notebook actually fitted the document in the small screen area. But I found it a bit frustrating. Otherwise, also, very robust computer, stylish and eye catching.

Advent 4211c (re-branded MSI Wind)

AdvantagesCheap and easy to use

DisadvantagesNo optical drive,battery not amazing

"...overlooked re-branded version of the MSI Wind. It is powered by the Intel Atom 1.6GHZ processor and has 1GB RAM as standard which I upgraded to 2GB. My version has the 80GB hard drive which is plenty of space for me. I find the 10.2in monitor just big enough to be comfortable and wouldn't recommend going for any Netbooks with 8in monitors as they would be a little small. It runs a cut down version of XP Home with ease and can cope with most general ..." Read review

MSI Wind U100 Notebook

AdvantagesBattery life, Size

DisadvantagesPixels on the screen

"I bought my MSI Wind around a year ago, I have since fallen in love with it, bbut come to hate it on occasions! It is brilliant for the creation of Word Documents and is a good way to carry about my Business documents, however in terms of Pure processing power, it falls down flat on its face. The MSI Wind boasts a Dual Core 1.6 GHz processor (which means 2 800Mhz Cores). If the processor wasn't a dual core, I dont think it could even run windows! ..." Read review

"This is a fairly decent little netbook, the only complaints are that it was not very reliable for me, until i upgraded the ram to 1.49gb and loaded the machine with windows 7 ultimate and now its as quick as a fiddle and i use it for iphone app developing without any problems. its ram is upgradeable to a max of 2gigs and it can easily handle windows 7 with a minimum of 1gig. i use it mainly for travel and data storage with its 80gb sata hd which is ..."
