...OS. One of the greatest Apple ever released. Just enter bedtime and time limits for using the Mac, specifying different times for weekdays and weekends if you wish. Advantages: Superb screen, superior speakers, huge capacity, multiplicity of functions, brilliant photo suite Disadvantages: A new 'language' to learn and company support not as good as one would expect.
We bought the Apple Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard recently. This cost a little under £1K from PC World (there are other outlets). The main reason why we bought this product is that we wanted to get away from the problems of 'Vista' and other issues with Microsoft Windows. This is a superb computer. It has a magnificent 24" flat screen and is very well constructed. It has a very impressive capacity and since we bought it in August it has run very well indeed. ... ...would need it. Terminology with Apple Mac is different from Microsoft, and they should provide a glossary of terms with the computer, which they don't. The manual provided is not user-friendly for over-50s (like me) as the print is so small; I fail to understand this obsession with instructions being in miniature! The best thing to do, if you are transferring from Windows to Mac, is to avail yourself of tuition at a Mac store during the 90 day period. ...

Advantages: Many new features, Full support for Windows Disadvantages: OS upgrades used to be free
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is the biggest update to the Mac operating system since OS X was first released. It is the first update that I would recommend purchasing on it's own rather than waiting till you need to upgrade to a new Macintosh computer. Some of the most useful features are Time Machine which is a one button backup system (it requires an external hard drive), Spaces, an application that helps organize applications when multitasking , and ... ...on Intel Macintosh computers. Bootcamp alone gives you the functionality of having a whole other computer if you need to run windows applications and don't wish to use a program like parallels or virtual PC that don't run at native speeds. Quicklook and Stacks in the dock are both excellent time saving features. Quicklook allows a small preview window to appear for almost any file type which shows the content of the file without fully opening it. ...
