Advantages: Very similar to Windows XP Disadvantages: Very different from Mac OS 9
I use an Mac for work purposes and a PC at home. On the Mac, time is of great importance and every feature that saves time saves money and there are quite a few great time saving features on Mac OS X that do just that!
If you are a PC user and currently use Windows XP then the new operating for the Apple Mac will be very appealing to you. It is very similar in many ways to that of Windows XP. One of the main differences that Mac OS X has which is ... ...This was never possible in Mac OS 9. This feature is available by pressing one of the F keys at the top of the keyboard - I only found this out by chance myself.
The only real disadvantage is that it is very different from OS 9 and does take a while to get use to. I think it is an advantage that the Mac is now being made to look more like a PC as I think this will increase its popularity and maybe even PC users could now easily use Macs.

Advantages: Not Windows Disadvantages: Apple are about to release OSX Tiger
...is called Safari, and although mac also has Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari can be up to four times faster loading pages.
Apple Works can seem slightly daunting at first if you are used to Microsoft Office, but you will soon find that it is probably easier to use. Transferring documents from MAC to Windows is some times a problem, but this can be sorted out with Virtual PC(which i mentioned earlier) or by saving a document as a PDF file. There ... ...make it clear again.
Mac itself has limited software avalable. Lots and lots of design and editing stuff and there is a company called macsoft which formates pc games for mac. The program i talked about earlier called virtualPC enable you to use both mac and mindows software. so therefor you can use anything really provided you are not too worried about putting XP on a Mac whick to be honest is something i am going to try and aviod because I can ...

(+) Superb screen, superior speakers, huge capacity, multiplicity of functions, brilliant photo suite (-) A new 'language' to learn and company support not as good as one would expect.
(+) Faster, good networking with other Windows machine, so far it has not crashed. (-) price, best to do a fresh install which will involve backup & restore of information
