Advantages Advantages It leaves my hair feeling softter; A little goes a long way; the smell

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's expensive; Not easily available

For the last two months now I have been using Macadamia Healing Oil treatment on my hair before drying it. Although I keep my hair in a short bob which doesn’t require too much attention, my hair is rather thick and there isn’t time to let it dry naturally before I go to work. Without using any kind of protection against the heat of the hair dryer or my GHD straighteners, it becomes dry and coarse. Given that I also go to the expense of getting it coloured nearly every time I’m at the hairdressers, I figure I ought to try to look after it well when I’m at home too. The last two occasions I’ve ... more

Advantages Advantages Leaves hair sleek, shiny and smelling good, a little goes a long way

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Pretty expensive

As someone who is plagued by greasy hair, the last thing I imagined myself writing a positive review about is an OIL for my hair, but that’s the great thing about monthly beauty sample boxes. I never would have chosen this product ordinarily, but it has made such a difference to the appearance of my hair. A little background, my hair is naturally quite straight, and in its current cut I allow it to air dry before straightening/styling. I’m all about low maintenance hair, although as I said it is prone to greasiness so I do find myself washing my hair more often than I necessarily enjoy. It is ... more

Advantages Advantages nourishes and smoothens the hair, a bottle lasts ages

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive if you buy the bigger sizes

I believe I have mentioned Macadamia Oil in a few previous reviews and it is a product I have been meaning to review for quite some time. I've been using the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment for around a year and a half. I was first introduced to it when I received a 10ml bottle in a beauty box and I liked it so much I have been using it ever since. Macadamia oil is described on the bottle as being a 'Healing oil treatment' for the hair. It is a natural oil blend the main ingredients being macadamia oil and argan oil. It is suitable for all hair types, but people with dry or damaged hair will ... more

Advantages Advantages leaves my hair soft and looking really healthy

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none for me

I recently got my hair dip dyed, and ever since, the bleach has left my ends really dried out and unhealthy looking. My sister, who is a hairdresser said that the salon she is working in sells Macadamia oil, and that it has been getting lots of sales and great results in the salon. I decided to buy a bottle to see what all the fuss was about and I must say, this is a really lovely, luxury product. Application The bottle that this oil comes in looks tiny when you first get it, I thought that I had been ripped off, however you only need a little bit of this oil to get really good results. You ... more

Advantages Advantages Leaves hair soft, smooth and sleek!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey

I have recently got into using hair oils as part of my hair care routine and am finding that they are really improving the condition of my hair. I recently received the Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment in a Boudoir Prive sample box and have been testing this out for the past few weeks. In comparison to many other hair oils I have used, I would say that this one is a thicker consistency and as such I find that I require only the tiniest amount to run through the ends of my hair. For those who are unaware, the purpose of a hair oil is to add an extra conditioning element to your haircare routine ... more

Advantages Advantages Left hair very soft and silky, good value for money considering how long it lasts

Disadvantages Disadvantages Didn't particularly like the smell

I originally purchased this Oil Treatment online (just £14.75 at CheapSmells.com) after a friend recommended it to me and said it did wonders for her dry and damaged hair. Let me first start off by explaining my hair type. I have long, thick, wavy, coarse hair just above waist length, which is very dry and damaged at the bottom 4 or 5 inches due to several bleaching attempts (my hair is dip dyed) , yet very oily at the roots. Due to age, length and state of the ends of my hair I decided to give this treatment, made up with natural macadamia nut oil and argan oil, a go. "How to use: Work a ... more

    Advantages Advantages packaging, smell

Disadvantages Disadvantages a little on the pricy side

I don't remember how much I paid for this, but it certainly wasn't cheap. It smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling silky soft and smelling great!! Now, this is an oil, so if you have very fine hair I wouldn't recommend you use much; in fact, only a few drops. My hair is long, curly, and dry, so I use about a tablespoon of it. And I can't stress enough how good this smells. It may not be for everyone, though, as it's a very sweet smell. Not like flowers, but like vanilla mixed with baby lotion....? I don't know. It just smells good. And the smell lasts, too. You can apply it when your ... more

Advantages Advantages Left hair very soft and silky

Disadvantages Disadvantages The smell could be a little better

Ideal for dry and damaged hair! Used around 3-4 pumps through my waist long dry damaged hair after washing thoroughly and found that it really hydrated my hair and sealed off split ends. My hair was instantly softer and detangled and the oil was absorbed almost instantly with no horrible greasy or heavy feeling which I was particularly worried about. It is even light enough to put over dry hair as a sort of smoothing serum or finishing oil. The smell isn't the best, a sort of nutty oily smell to be honest, but it disappears almost entirely after the hair dried or about half an hour afterwards ... more
