A fantastic speaker! I use two of these mainly for my band and have found them to sound exceptional for the price. They have a really wide dispersion meaning that everyone in the room can hear the highs, as well as the lows, which believe me are not lacking from what you may thing is a small 12" speaker. The Mackie SRM450 is an extremely versatile speaker. It has the advantage of built in amplifiers, together with thermal and overload protection. I run a hire firm, pa2hire.co.uk, and we like these for several reasons - for one, they are difficult to damage, you can't overdrive them very easily as the limiter kicks in. We have had the SRM 450s for almost 3 yrs now . we run a monthly salsa night in a fairly big social club . thay are fantastic for what we do ,together with our CDJ 200 and DJM 600 mixer, they are LOUD with good sound . we only have to have the mixer on half volume and its way loud enough ( pushing the clubs sound level meter to the red ). being active it cuts down on carrying seperate amps etc . still look like new . we are very happy with the SRM 450's

This speaker immerses you in the sound, you feel a part of whatever you're doing with it. Not only are you taking aback by it's cutting-edge design but its performance also. I personally use it with my Korg Trinity, a match made in heaven.
