my quest is over.

Advantages: very comfortable,light,folds well
Disadvantages: none yet!

...comparing prices.I have always liked Maclaren buggys and was interested in both the quest and the more expensive techno. The techno is a lot more expensive than the quest(about £50)and is suitable from birth as it reclines further than the quest, but as my baby is 18 months old this was a feature I didn't need.I did look at other makes such as the mothercare jive at £30,butI felt the seat unit was quite small with a low back. Before making a final decision ...
...buying elsewhere!I also considered the Maclaren volo, but this model does not recline and it has no rain cover. Now for the tecnical details! The quest is light -5.6 KG it has an aluminium frame and foam grip ergonomic handles.I'm not sure how the form will re-act if the buggy gets wet as I've not used it in the rain yet!The instructions state that the buggy has 4 positions but to me it just reclines! The mechinism to recline the seat is easy to operate ...

A Life Saver!

Advantages: Light, Easy to Use, Compact, Sturdy
Disadvantages: Brakes no good, Expensive

...and so I bought a Maclaren Quest to complement the Bugaboo. At 5.5kg, the Maclaren Quest weighs less than my growing baby, so I find that I can even carry baby in one arm and the pram in the other (not that I would ever need to do this!). The light weight of the pram is a major plus as it's easy to even wheel up and down stairs, something I've found extremely daunting with my Bugaboo. Because the pram is light and can also be folded quite compactly, ...
...prefer not to use the Maclaren Quest. The pram seat itself is comfortable and with the footmuff (which unfortunately is an extra), my baby seems quite happy strapped into it. The seat itself can be reclined and the mechanism is very easy to work. However, the lowest position is about a 45 degree angle. This prevents my baby from having a comfortable sleep unfortunately, which means that I am restricted to using the Maclaren Quest for short trips ...

A good lightweight every day stroller

Advantages: Good lightweight easy to push
Disadvantages: very small basket for shopping

After 3 months of lugging my heavy 3 wheeler (off road) stroller in and out of the boot I was desperate for an easier stroller. So off I went to toys r us to test drive lightweight strollers. The Quest was one of the more expensive at £100 but was noticeably easier to push and manoeuver than the other lightweight strollers on offer. Even so I could not bring my self to buy it then and there. So at home I went online and after extensive searching ...
...easier to justify than 100. Also as many other parents seemed to be pushing Maclarens they couldn't all be wrong. 2 years later it's still my stroller of choice for quick in town trips. There are a variety of colours, I went for blue although I have seen both grey and red versions. It is suitable from 3 months of age and reclines for when your baby wants to sleep. Although the challenge now is to recline it gently enough that I don't wake him up. ...

no need for a quest to find this maclaren

Advantages: the reliability of a maclaren
Disadvantages: brakes and poss fault with wheel

We had our maclaren quest for four years that should tell you a lot about this product. Ok it doesnt really all it tells you is it was durable for this long. Does it mean it had four years good use. Yes it does, so much that I can honestly say that the only reason its no longer in use is one of the back wheels wore down and we found it hard to replace. Not sure if this is a common fault as I've seen the same model with exact same wheel worn down ...
...can tell you it was 3yrs before the wear started. I brought this as soon as my baby turned 3 mths as adviced. This is because it doesnt fully recline thus needing the baby to have some ample head control. However with baby so young, he seemed quite comfy as optional leg rest so his legs werent hanging and I brought the maclren footmuff which fitted perfectly to keep him snug. Average height handles made of foam that didnt wear too great.. Shopping ...

Wat a great product

Advantages: Light weight and easy to fold
Disadvantages: None

...to get on busses etc...the maclaren quest made such a difference, my daughter always seemed very comfortable and it has three positions so she didnt have to be sat up all the time which meant when she was aslepp i could lay her down so she was comfortable. The basket underneath is not very big but it does hold quite a bit, there is also a pocket in the cover which i put her dummy in and my keys etc, the rain cover was also easy to use and the buggy ...
...There is a handle on the side which makes it easier to carry when getting on and off busses/trains etc. Its very easy to steer and not too bulky so walking round shops is easy and there is no worry of knocking everything over or fitting down the isles. What is also good is the seat, there are too little clips that can be pulled out making it longer so your child can lay flat or pushed in so your child can sit up proparly. The rubber handles give ...

MACLAREN QUEST ----- I love this buggy, i had it for my daughter when she was 3 and she i pretty tall and still she looked so comfortable in it, then again i do love most maclarens they are very strudy and durable you can always seem to trust them. This comes in a range of funky colours to suit everyone, it is very easy t o push and handle and i found i could push it one handed when needed. The shopping basket is average size but its pretty strong ...
...get dirty very quickly but maclaren have made it very easy to strip all the covers off and stick them in the washing machine which is fantastic for them messy little fingers! its also super easy to fold and very easy to store as its nice and slim and also light to carry the only problem i have had with it is the brakes sometimes release themselves so you do have to watch that when on the buses etc. PROS ----- lightweight, easy to push, easy to ...

Buggytastic!

Advantages: Reclining seat
Disadvantages: None

This is a fantastic buggy. I love the style of it- it looks so much more deluxe than other buggies of this type. The hood is useful as it shelters your child from light rain and also provides great shade in sunny weather. The seat is very veratile- it has an extendable piece useful if your child is napping. The seat also reclines which is excellent when you are trying to get your child to sleep. For the older child, there is a foot rest for tired ...
...and nappy bags. I also like the fact that you can hang shopping bags on the handles-some buggies have a bar handle right across which makes this impossible to do. It folds down very compactly, with a great carry handle. Both my children have loved this buggy-we've had three different buggies and this is the firm favourite. ...

Worth consideration

Advantages: Very Lightweight, easy to assemble
Disadvantages: Wouldn't be particular 'cosy' in the Winter

...the Ciao website about the Maclaren Quest we decided to buy one for our 6 month old daughter. We had previously been using a travel system and in comparison the Maclaren Quest is very lightweight, making it easy to get in and out of the car and on/off public transport and it is very easy to manoeuvre. Another advantage over the travel system is that your baby can see much better as they can sit quite upright. It is easy to put up and down, although ...
...(as suggested in the instructions), to pull the lever to fold it down. The seat material is wipe clean not washable. I read in one of the reviews that the brakes were hard to turn on and off, but so far I have found the brakes easy to operate with your foot. In comparison to other buggies, it is one of the lighter buggies, but it is still sturdy enough to withstand your growing baby! It comes with instructions, which are very easy to read and ...

Quick review of Maclaren Quest Buggy

we too were initially impressed with the Maclaren Quest sport. But we took it on holiday and the carry strap broke in transit. (perhaps over zealous baggage handlers are at fault - but perhaps clips should be made of less vulnerable, brittle plastic!). Main problem though is the rain hood. It looks like it has warped in the heat and now sags, which means when it rains it collects on the hood - very poor quality. Maclaren are washing their hands of responsibility and Babys-mart, who we bought it from have awful customer service...DO NOT BUY FROM BABYS-MART!!! ...

whizz around town!!

Advantages: Light,practical,funky looking,fantastic steering,
Disadvantages: brakes difficult, shopping space,

I have recently purchased a Maclaren Quest. I am a mad buggy buyer as I have purchased 4 pushchairs since the birth of my baby who is only 4 months old! It is light, fairly easy to fold and looks pretty good. I love the seat extension which just adds a little bit of extra comfort than some budget pushchairs give. It basically gives the baby extra material where their legs hang over the edge. I like the steering of Quest it's fantastic compared to ...
...handed with this. It is good for any surfaces too. The brakes are difficult to operate though as they don't seem to click into the gaps easily. The shopping basket isn't huge but lets face it not many pushchairs that are lightweight have a great deal of space. My baby seems very comfortable in it and he is extremely fussy and would cry if not 100 % happy. ...

Watch out!! it's about to fall.

Advantages: The sreering, light weight, easy to fold, reasonable price.
Disadvantages: difficult brakes, tips back very easily,

I have to say I am only writing this review because I feel so strongly about the fact that you cannot find a suitable buggy unless you try it first, I have had 5 kids and bought many pushchairs over the years and sadly this has to be the worst, don't get me wrong it has it advantages and may suit many other people but it just wasn't for me. My daughter is 2 and a half so this was to be my last pushchair and only needed to last me about a year which ...
...use a pushchair now for the school run and for out and about shopping. The first thing I found I didn't like was the brakes I just couldn't seem to get them to stay on hence when I thought they were on my daughter went rolling off down a slope at nursery, I hadn't quite managed to click it into the right groove!! but with a bit of fiddling about I finally managed to lock them. Secondly did you know that you are not supposed to put any sort of bag ...

a good light weight stroller

Advantages: compact and lightweight
Disadvantages: not the easiest of breaking systems

I have found this a good second buggy . It has a forward facing design which can be used from 4 months to approximately 3 years. It has 4 back positions for babies comfort which is good for the younger baby. It is easy to fold and light enough and small enough to use when travelling on public transport . It weighs around 5kgs which makes it one of the lightest on the market. We bought the grey colour but I believe that it can be bought in a couple ...
...as it is very practicle and easy to clean. The buggy is easy to fold and takes up a small amount of room in the boot of a standard car when folded. The rain canopy is a bit fiddly to get on the bottom hooks but it does keep baby dry. For the summer I would also recommend that a stroller umbrella shade is used, most fit to this stroller and can be bought for around £9-£14. This stroller is easy to get in and out of shopping aisles but needs two ...
