I paid £269 for the complete system from John Lewis in Reading ,who offer free delivery and will price match with anywhere in the country.The travel system included a surefix base,which is attached to the car seat(not where an airbag is fitted),the seat then clicks onto the base insuring the seat is correcty fitted each time.When you consider that 8 out of 10 car seats are incorrectly ...

We were given a mamas and papas travel system from a family friend for our first baby. The car seat looked like it had been well used and we wanted to buy a new one for safety reasons so we decided on the one to match the pram. What a mistake! We got a matching one mainly so we could use it as a travel system which in hindsight wasn't a good basis for our desicion as we hardly ever use it like this. Advantages to this seat: Its well padded and comfy for baby, the covers can be wiped down or removed and washed. Customer services told me it is so upright as that is the safest position for the baby's spine should there be a crash. If that is the case, how come no other manufacturers are of the same opinion?? This is a rear racing car seat which is suitable from birth to 13kg (9-12 months approx) I brought this car seat from John Lewis for £150.00 even though I have since seen it on line for £135.00. This seamed fairly expensive to me but I had read reviews on it before purchasing and it seamed to have been highly recommended for its safety factor including its advanced side impact protection. I think this car seat is ok. The base makes it quicker to get going and seems pretty sturdy. In my vauxall astra the handle did not clip forward against the seat very well but in my ford galaxy it is much better. My main problem with this is that the seat is very upright and the padding does not seem to hold my baby's head very well, his head keeps rolling forwards and looks very uncomfortable, this has become less of a problem but for his first month it was not good. The seat is very heavy and difficult to clip into the buggy. I think if there was an accident the seat would do a good job. David Lee ...

Total con. Bought this thinking the "surefix" system was a click in and click out mchanism like the "Isofix" system. It's not. The base offers no absolutely no advantage - after clicking the carseat into the base, you still have to wrap the seatbelt around the carseat. GIven the difficulty of further extending a seat belt which is already fixed - the whole exercise takes more trouble than strapping in the seat alone would do. The base may make the seat slighlty more level in some cars but this offers no safety improvement. I am now binning mine and buying Isofix. Save yourself the trouble and just buy isofix ...

Extremely disappointed with car seat and sure fix base, although it has side impact protection padding it is of no use as the seat sits so upright that my baby's head falls to far forward for them to give any support. The store supposedly tested the seat in our car (Astra 55 plate) to make sure it fitted but having now tried to actually use said seat we feel that they were more interested in making a sale than actual safety. the seat belt is not ...

I bought this car seat to go with the pliko p3 pushchair. My son was born 6lbs 12ozs and when we first put him in the seat we were worried we made the wrong decision. The car seat sat quite upright and so his little head would constantly fall forward. We stuck with the car seat and are very pleased with it now. My son is now 1 and is still in his car seat. It is suitable for up to 13kgs in weight (about 28lbs) and so my son, at 22lbs, still fits ...
...others for the same price that only go up to 9kg (about 19lbs). It is a very bulky car seat and you can find yourself wrestling with it in and out of the car but it is very well padded and once your baby is a little bigger is very supportive. I have found the primo viaggio car seat very easy to use. It fits into and out of the base very easily, so saves hassle when taking baby in and out of car. It feels very sturdy when it is fitted. It releases from the base with just one pull on a handle! The carry handle has several fixed positions to use for different purposes. One for carrying, one to stabilise the seat into a fixed sitting position. Another to secure the seat against a car seat ...
