Mamas & Papas Protec in Graphite Car Seat

When our son outgrew his travel system rear facing seat, we spent a good deal of time researching all the different seats, looking online and trawling the shops. All the good shops have a mock car seat with a seat belt so that you can try the baby seats out in store, and we spent ages installing each baby seat to see how they worked! We were really looking for a seat that I could shift easily between cars as I often go out with my mum or my sister ...
...really fiddly to fit, you often have to feed the seat belt through tiny gaps between the base and the seat and through a multitude of awkward and fragile-looking clips. So when we tried this M&P one out we knew it was "the one"! It was just so simple to fit. Basically, the seat belt goes round the underside of the chair at the front, plugs in, then the rest of the belt goes across the top of the seat back, (it's covered by a padded cloth flap), ...

...with it. After visiting Mamas and Papas the Store Assistant managed to sell us this car seat, as we were originally going for something else we'd seen on the internet which was around £30 cheaper. As she explained, one of the key benefit of this car seat is the fact that there is a handle near the base that can be turned up to 3 times, to make the seat recline backwards - this is an especially key feature for me in rating this seat as my daughter ...
...was around 10 months. The benefit of this is the fact that if the baby falls asleep in the car, which they tend to do, their head doeasn't flop forward, and instead they are more comfortably asleep. The only downsides of the seat are that it is a little bulky, and maybe slightly confusing for those who are installing the seat for the 1st time. The pro on the other hand is that you can see the seat is really secure and safe with all of the loops ...

Lethal. After 7 months of using this seat the seat belt tensioner pops open leaving the seat loose. Took it back to M&P and was deliberately humiliated and embarassed in front of a shop full of people as the manager fitted it to the demo seat and acused me of fitting it incorrectly. It started to work loose as she ranted on it so she removed it, got me to fit it in my car, ranted on it again, it came loose. Was told to buy a new seat or I could pay them £50 to send it to the repair centre... Awful aftersales service and poor quality fittings that are not up to the job. ...

I have recently purchased this seat as a step up from the M & P Primo Viaggio seat, and its fantastic. Its easy to fit, with 4 basic steps to the fitting process, and is very secure once fitted. It can be used in the front or back seat or your car. The straps can be adjusted both in length and shoulder position, and I've transported several babies aged between 9 and 18 months in it and they have all loved it. I purchased the Mamas and Papas Pro-Tec Car seat a couple of years ago for my eldest daughter when she was about 18mths old. We had been using 3 other car seats in various cars, none of which I was entirely happy with, so I went along to M & P to see what they recommended. The service I received was excellent and when they demonstated how easy the car seat was to fit, and how secure it was with locks at the top and bottom of the seat I bought it. ...
