...second year of study at Manchester Metropolitan University, affectionately known as ManMet or MMU. My course is Consumer Marketing and I’m reading for a Degree.
Initially I never wanted to go to university. All the way through high school I wanted to be a chef and chose to do NVQs relevant to this field instead of sitting A-Levels. So the time came when I left college with my NVQs and had to get a job. This I did. I worked hard for about a ... ...reason that I lived in Manchester anyway and couldn’t really afford to leave and have to set up home somewhere else. The two other universities in Manchester, Victoria and UMIST, both require a high standard of secondary education i.e. high graded A-Levels which I did not have. MMU however looked at my work history and achievements and made me an unconditional offer on the Consumer Marketing course.
ManMet has a number of campuses, not all ...

...am currently studying at the Manchester Metropolitan University at the Hollings campus in Fallowfield studying Events Management. On the course elsewhere. ...fun. Eventually he settled on Manchester University and, whilst I didn't want to do the English degree there, I found that I did want to do the course offered at Manchester Metropolitan University, which was very nearby. I also thought the people there would be a bit more fun. There's a time for work, but there's also a time for play and I was afraid I'd be surrounded by horrifically intelligent people and seem a bit dense in comparison!
I'll admit ... ...I liked the idea of Manchester because it was close enough to where my parents lived if I ever wanted to go home and far enough away so I could gain some well needed independence and experience. I learned a great deal whilst I was studying (both in terms of education and life!) and met some fabulous people including my fiance, so it was obviously a good choice for me! Nearly all of my university friends have stayed in the city and have bought houses ...

...evening.
I went to Manchester University and although the Union was ok, it was a bit grotty, especially in the Cellar. I started going to the Met Union as I had a friend there, and it is great. There are two main bars, and on 'club' nights it has the advantgae that you can use both. Top Bar becomes a sort of night club where you can but chips and cheap drinks, while the other remains a normal bar and can be used as a 'chill out' zone. The music ...

Um - so ive been to the union and it is truly ace - as are the eateries that surround it:)
I do go to the met- it really is a top place to study.
My course is an arts one and they really have a good library and academic staff. The campus is also quite well arranged in the town centre.... and not too far from the train station.

There is a good union jobshop, the met also has its own agency which if you register there without the jobshop you get paid more and there are loads of ways to earn through the year showing visitors around.
The union shop has a good supply of art materials and other things. ...

The Crewe institute of education is in my opinion excellent, but I feel that one has to be extremely ruthless when choosing your course at it can often save you a huge amount of money. for example:
A four year course in primary education ICT would cost you 4 years of maintenace loan plus four years of tuition fees.
Alternativley you could profit from your university experience by taking a two year course in secondary Business and ICT education, ...

...go to part of the manchester metropolitan university in Alsager. Its such a nice place to live, great scenery. Its in the middle of no where, but the student union organises nights out into the closest town for clubbing. Which if you go with the right people you can have the best night ever.
