I've read quite a few "how to draw manga" books, and I honestly have to say that this is the best foundation one out there. The only ones I have found better than this is consisted of a series of hardback books, which were priced at around £8 each (the full set comprised of over 30 books! ) and were full of surplus information. I found this book really helpful. It wasn't condescending like other tutorial books are instead it was very helpful. It gave you a drawing style showed you how to create a simple model using an simple wire example. Then simply let you go where you wanted to from there. Other tutorials simply promote the reader to trace and copy what they show and never really help the user to expand thier knowledge and talents in creating thier own characters and ideas. Many people have published books on this subject, and this series is no the best of them.
