There have recently been one or two reviews slating Mango Book Club, so it seems only fair that I say that my experience of them has been without problems so far. Not the best of starts, as my introductory book was left in my dustbin - it was a relatively new one and had been emptied that morning, but even so I didn't find that acceptable. However, that was the fault of the delivery company rather than Mango. I didn't actually want that particular book, so I listed it on Amazon Marketplace and sold it within twenty-four hours at a very decent price, considering Mango only charged me 99p for it ... more

Mango...The book club I joined a year and half or so ago. How did I come about joining a book club? Quite easy really, there was a leaflet in a magazine I had brought. (you know the ones that as soon as you open to start reading your greeted with six different flyers) I had a look through the leaflet and the intoductory offer seemed quite tempting. But for someone who didn't read much it may seem a little pointless. I have always liked reading it was just a case of not bothering to buy books and the fact that I just never really seemed to have time. This was soo about to change now I had ... more

Advantages Advantages Good choice of contemporary and 'trendy' female fiction

Ever since the age of two, when I’d sit in my wooden swiss chalet in the garden, surrounded with Enid Blyton books, I’ve always been an avid reader. I’m the sort of person who, wherever I’m going, always has to pack a book in case of emergencies – being kept waiting for a train for example! Consequently, because I get through books so quickly, I’ve been on the look out for many years for ways to acquire them more cheaply. Before I became such a frequent net user, I was always keen to join bookclubs, since books were usually cheaper here than on the high ... more

Mango are a book club, I first heard of them when I used to go on websites and see their banners telling me how I could get a free gift for joining, as I am up for all free things I decided to log onto www.mango.co.uk and have a look at what they were offering, as I am not a huge book club fan and don't read much. I looked around the website then on the join section it said what you could do at the time I was joining, well when I finally got round to it a month after seeing the banner the offer had changed and it wasn't a free bag being given but 5 books for 99p and not just books they select ... more

As a bookaholic who thinks nothing of devouring 3 or 4 books a week, I love Mango! Mango is a division of WorldBooks, the mail-order book giant and I joined around 6 months ago. Mango caters for the recent load of books that are among the Bridget Jones type style, full of lovely, juicy reads that are hard to put down. As an introductory offer to get you to join, they usually offer 5 books for £5 or similar deals. When I joined it was buy 5 books for £5 plus I got £15 worth of vouchers off my next order. Each month you get sent a small brochure of books they’re offering you this month and ... more

Advantages Advantages Beats going to the bookshop!

Disadvantages Disadvantages They demand payment before you can re-order (not a bad thing l suppose!)

I joined Mango approximately 2 years ago (I think) having previously been a member of World Books - which l found to heavy and really only dealt in hard backed books. I found Mango by chance really - a leaflet fell out of a magazine. As a sucker for gimmicks and junk mail - l read it and thought is sounded appealing. Paper backed books a cut price, delivered to your door - excellent. The novels range from the top ten best sellers in the UK, to Contemporary Novels, to non-fiction Books. Perhaps not so good if you enjoy classics or crime thriller type books. To join there is an opening offer - l ... more

Mango is a book club for women. I first heard about them when I got a leaflet through the door. I decided to join as I love reading books and they were doing an offer of buy 5 books for 99p. The books you will find in the Mango catalogue are usually:- Romance Horror Biographies They send you a catalogue once a month, so you can see if there are any books that you would like. You do not have to buy from every catalogue either. They do not put any pressure on you to buy any more once you have bought the required amount in your first year. In your first year of being a member, you have to order ... more

Advantages Advantages A way to expand your library - on the cheap!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Books are mainly fun and female – definitely not recommended for ‘wider’ tastes.

If I had to describe myself in any context, one thing that would surely come up would be the fact that I am a book-sinner. This simply meaning that I spend far too much of my time reading books to the detriment of all other meaningful life tasks, household chores, personal hygiene (only kidding) etc. Saying this, the day was bound to come when I would assign myself to a bookclub (cheap books even if JUST part of introductory offers are too good to miss) and Mango was the first one I joined. Talking currently, the opening deal with Mango (as going right to press) is that you can take advantage ... more

I was happily searching one day on the net and came across a site called Mango- ahh books so quickly i clicked and arrived at the website. This was back in around february this year...it was advertising so many books for so much and a free book to boot - the catch was to buy 4 books within your first year of membership. EASY for me i read books like no tomorrow. So i clicked away on things like Sushi for beginners and some others (can't remember them now but they were good)...he site has a little basket comes up when you have clicked so you can decide if you want to keep them or not. i chose ... more

Advantages Advantages Good selection, easy to use website

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slow delivery, appaling customer services

Ive been a member of Mango for several years now and am a chicklit addict. Its just my kind of books. The books themselves are great, the club less and less so. The books dont seem the same bargain they used to be, delivery is a lot slower and as for Customer Services dont get me started! However if these are your kind of books and you fancy getting the newest releases delivered to your door then you might want to take a look. Joining is easy. They usually have a special offer of 5 books at 1p each or 5 for 49p. The joining selection isnt as varied as the actual site but you get a choice from ... more
