Probably not quite the counting the hours anticipation that comes with those huge 'killer app' titles though. --Introduction--
The original Mario Kart first appeared on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) back in the early 1990's. Since then, Nintendos famous plumber and his gang have appeared on every Nintendo format and now its time for them to make their appearance on the Wii. ...most addictive game. Wii + Mario Kart = hours of my life wasted, please stop Nintendo I need to sleep.
Why I find this game so addictive is hard to pin down. I've played racing games before and not become so hooked. Perhaps it's the wackiness of the game or the competitiveness. I know what it is, it's just plain good fun, what more do you need.
The premise is simple, race around tracks as a Nintendo character against other Nintendo characters and ... ...also online competitions on the Mario Kart channel, you do your challenge off line and post your result. ==What is Mario Kart?==
Mario Kart is a racing game using characters from the Super Mario Bros series. Unlike most other racing games, Mario Kart uses items to make the racing more interesting. ===The Predecessors===
Mario Kart started life on the SNES console in 1992 with Super Mario Kart. The game had 20 tracks over 4 cups, each with 5 tracks. WHAT IS IT:
Mario Kart is a racing game for the Nintendo Wii, that features old and new courses, and all the famous Nintendo characters. There are 24 characters, 36 vehicles, and 32 tracks (half of which are new).Priced at £35 in Game, Mario Kart comes with a cool steering wheel that holds the Wii remote. IS IT ANY GOOD:
First up, I've never had a Nintendo before now, so know nothing of the characters and classic tracks beyond a vague knowledge ... ...of game-play, which is where this title is so good.
The emphasis of the game is not on driving ability, but on fun; you don't just race around, but you also hit boxes which give you speed increases, or set traps for other players / shoot them etc etc. This means that you are constantly losing and gaining places due to hazards, which makes it a very fun game to play. Because of this, anyone can win, and everyone is on a pretty even keel, even if ...

...Feast you eyes on my Mario Kart Wii Review!

Mario Kart Wii is a edition to the popular series of games, Mario Kart. The game started way back in 1992, when Super Mario Kart for the SNES was released, a lot has changed but will Mario Kart Wii be a great edition?
~~~ CONTROLS ~~~
In my opinion, the controls for Mario Kart Wii are very simple. you hold down 2 on the Wii-mote to go, 1 is Brake/Drift. turn the Wii-mote to stear, up on the D-pad to throw and item forwards and down to throw it ... ...like what you see on Mario Kart DS. I prefer graphics that are 3-D on racing games because they give you a real feeling that you're driving.
~~~ AUDIO ~~~
The audio on MKW is good, because you get music everywhere, but you often get phrases repeat over and over again, and it might get annoying if Mario keeps on saying "Ya-hoo!" 5 times in a row. The music that you get when you're racing is great.
~~~ DIFFICULTY & COMPLEXITY ~~~
I find MKW not ...
Advantages: Great Longevity, Brilliant Multiplayer, Huge fun Disadvantages: Sound could be better
...its fair to say that Mario Kart has taken up a disproportionately large amount of my "study" time. The game is remarkably simple to get into, with the gameplay focused on trying to put everyone on a level footing. Sound is probably the weakest area of the game, although people get so frustrated and excited playing the game half the time you cant hear the sound!
