Advantages Advantages It goes anywhere you want.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Have you ever tried to hear your Strat in a crowded room with no amp, or worse have a new idea in your mind but don't want to wake up the whole house Try the MS-2. The Marshall MS2 is a dinky little amp designed to look and sound like the real thing, the best part being it's, portable and even clips on your belt like a mobile phone. This wicked bit of kit only weighs about half a pound including it's battery (pp3), and really kicks out a groovy sound, and if you want to you can run it via a power pack to save cash on batteries. The MS-2 is based on the original 100 - 150 watt range of combo's ... more

    Advantages Advantages Portable, oher uses

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor OD Channel

This amp has got 1 volume, 1 tone and one Off/Clean/OD knob. It has a single input at the front and a headphone out on the side. As stated above it has a clean and an overdrive channel, the latter being much louder. I mainly use this amp when I'm playing in the garden or outside. I also use it as an iPod speaker thanks to a patch cable and a jack adapter. I play too many styles to mention and it handles about half of them. One feature I wish this amp had was a gain knob as the distortion can be very weak. I use this amp with a Harley Benton superstrat or with an Epiphone LP 100. As mentioned ... more

Advantages Advantages Very Cheap For a Marshall : ) Portable and Simple

Disadvantages Disadvantages Batteries Won't Last Long

The Marshall MS-2 is the smallest amp I have ever seen and it can be taken anywhere to use as a practice amp. The MS-2 is so small I have had people ask me if it actually works and then be amazed when I plugged it in, it is so small you can attach it to your belt with the clip on the back! If you ever wanted an amp to carry around with you and practice with then this will be a good purchase. Even though the amp is so small it is actually quite loud. It would not be loud enough to practice with friends on 10 watt amps, but its enough to practice alone. One problem I experienced was when turning ... more

    Advantages Advantages Small, portable, practical

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slight loss of sound quality at high volumes, eats up batteries

Features: 2 watt speaker, Input socket, headphone socket, tone control, volume control, on/off/overdrive control, on/off indicator light, belt clip and a mains adapter socket. This small amp is perfect for you if you like playing guitar well into the night since it has a headphone socket and it is also quite a quiet amp but it can also be a beast when you pump up the volume or, if you travel around a lot and you don’t want to lug around a bigger amp. It also makes a good first amp since it is relitvly cheap but for what you pay it is extremely good value for money. The Marshall MS-2 is an ... more

Advantages Advantages great classic marshal stack looks tiny package

Disadvantages Disadvantages sound quality is not that great

Well the marshall ms 2, possibly one of the the worlds smallest and best looking "stack'a'likes". This tiny 2 channel beast could not be any simple to use, it runs off a 9 volt battery for absolutely ages (I havent replaced mine in about 2 years!), has one input jack, one headphone jack, a volume, tone and an ON/OFF/OD and a handy little belt clip so you can rock as you walk ALL the way around your bedroom! For those of you expecting to sound like a rock god from this amp you probably shouldn't buy this as the sound quality is not great on its own, The clean channel is very twangy and distorts ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, Small, Excellent Sound

Disadvantages Disadvantages Maybe too weak a sound for real enthusiasts

Owned my Marshall MS-2 amp for a few years now and thought i\'d write my thought on the little blighter!! lol If you are not familiar with this amp, i believe it is the same one ad used by Jack Black in School of Rock. This little blighter is almost perfect if you\'re looking for a small, portable practice amp. For strumming on the couch, taking to your mates, camping or a jam session at a friend\'s house or on in your garage, shed or wherever else your partner banishes you to when your playing with your axe!! The amp is great. Looking at other people\'s reviews, you\'ll find them complaining ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't Last Long, Bad Quality

"You Get What You Pay For" Never has this phrase been more true for me. I went in to a guitar shop after my 14th birthday with £300. I expected to be able to buy a guitar, a half decent amp, straps etc, but the guitar cost more than expected so I bought this. Anyway, I took it home and plugged it in, and I was fairly impressed with the sound. Not top notch, but I wouldn't expect it to be for it's size, price and Watts. I could play some of my favourite songs, and they'd sound... okay. However, after about a month, the sound quality became terrible, and the feedback on the OD setting would be ... more

Advantages Advantages sounds great, easy to move around

Disadvantages Disadvantages not many settings to chose from

i strongly agree that the marshall ms 2 pocket amp is perfect for people who cant pull around a big heavy amp. it is perfect for practicing or if your on the road, it is very transportable and it can be cliped onto your belt and because it uses battery not just mains electric you can walk and play aswell. i think that it is a great value for money and wont depreciate so if you decide to sell you will get your money back. the only down side is that it doesn't have as many setting and options as a usuall amp does, but is only a small price to pay for such a great sound. it is very durable so it ... more

Advantages Advantages It is very wasy to move from place to place.Easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not perfect sound

The MS2 is a really great small guitar practice amplifier from Marshall. I was able to try it few weeks ago. If you want to go out and if you need portable amp MS2 can be perfect solution. When i saw it for the first time , I thought it was a toy but once I plugged my guitar in, it’s actually a serious amplifier. I was very surprised by the performance of this cool little amplifier. You can move it whenever you want and you can practice your guitar outside of your home.Sound is not perfect but still it is very good.I must say that MS 2 is very easy to use.But if you want to use it as street ... more
