5 Stars MAX FACTOR COLOUR ADAPT FOUNDATION Review with images 18/10/2010

    Advantages Advantages A fantastic foundation

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None for me

LET YOUR TRUE COLOUR COME SHINING THROUGH With COLOUR ADAPT By MAX FACTOR I am not going to admit to how many but, suffice to say, I have had lots of years of wearing make up and looking for the ideal foundation. I think that now, at long last I have found it. In my teenage years I used to, like many young girls, slap on the foundation, in an effort to try to conceal spots, and any imperfections. I wouldn't have stepped out of the house during my teens without having first applied foundation. Then, in my later teens or early twenties, I thought that it was better to ease up on the foundation ... more

Having read other's reviews, I noted how different some were, which was interesting as when one buys a beauty product and finds it the best ever, it's a little puzzling to discover other's don't rate it so well! Of course, beauty products, especially facial creams and foundation will perform differently on different age-groups and skin types. I confess, I am a make-up-aholic! have been wearing make-up since I was 14 but If I'd known then how blessed I was to have lovely skin then, I would never have covered it up with foundation, but girls will be girls! So, I'm 55 now and still have a good ... more

Advantages Advantages Reasonable price, seems to blend to skintone OK, good quality, lasts a while on skin

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough coverage for me personally

You may know by now if you have read any of my other make up reviews that I am a big fan of Max Factor. This foundation is one of Max Factor's most popular foundations and can be bought at £9.99 from Boots - and is also priced variously on eBay. I have tried all of the Max Factor foundations so throughout this review please bear in mind that I may be critical of the product and compare it to some of the other foundations from the same brand. This is probably a good thing for me to do though so that you can get an idea of which foundation is the best and know which one would suit you best ... more

Advantages Advantages Perfection in foundation, it get's no better than this ladies!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None!

I've had a long running love affair with Max Factor! Don't know when and where it started but I'm mighty pleased that it did! In my make up kit I've got plenty of Max Factor 'pieces' and I love them all, it really is a brand you can trust. There are some product's (not many) that I will purchase time and time again. Mainly I'm the type of woman that picks up whatever is a decent brand and going cheap or involved in some kind of offer, I'm not made of money! However this is the one thing that I will now buy time and time again because I know there's no problem at all with it. I originally tried ... more

    Advantages Advantages A flawless complexion

Disadvantages Disadvantages OOooh, a little pricey.

I was on my usual trawl around the freebie sites trying to bag what I could when I stumbled across www.maxfactor.co.uk who were promising free samples of their new skin tone adapting make-up, Colour Adapt. I registered to the site, joined the Max Factor Club and ordered my free sample and waited for it to arrive through the post. I was quite surprised when it arrived only 2 weeks later. I didn't actually give the little foil pouch much thought and it floated around my bathroom for several days before I decided to try it out. We had been invited to a wedding and I had to look perfect. I was ... more

Advantages Advantages Lasts all day, does exactly what it says, colour available for every shade/type of skin!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The price!

Now, I know the above title is a catchphrase for another brand but I think it is quite apt and very applicable to me at this moment in time. Considering I'm now 22 and female I recently decided that it was about time I started caring about my appearence... really caring and not just looking in the mirror an moaning once in a while! Me being me I couldn't just try the popular cheaper stuff could I? No, that would be too easy on my wallet. Instead I went for the Clarins, the Clinique... and this new product that all of the beauty magazines were raving about, yup... Max Factor Colour Adapt ... more

Ello Chickens, I'd like to introduce you to the new magic formula provided by Max Factor International, that inspirational cosmetics house which, as we all know from the commercials, provides the make up of make up artists. It's been a while since I wrote you gorgeous lovelies a review so please forgive me (yet rate accordingly) if this offering is below par. I don't mean to waste your time, yet I am getting rather excited and may veer off into insipid rambling. Anyway, I have it here in my hand and on my face. And it promises me beauty, the likes of which I have never yet faced. I am all of a ... more

This max factor colour adapt foundation isn't supposed to cover up and hide your skin it's supposed to actually match your skin tone. Max factor claim that this foundation has the ability to pick up and reflect the different pigments in your complexion to give a totally sheer look without masking your skin's true radiance. Looking through my many make up bags I found this the other day and it still had a little bit left so I thought I'd give it ago. This comes in six shades. *creamy ivory *warm almond *blushing beige *natural *golden *bronze I have shade 50 which is porcelain. I've had this ... more

    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Natural looking, smooth even coverage, feels nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages Makes fine lines more obvious

Max Factor Colour Adapt foundation was the first skin tone adapting makeup on the market, and is probably still the best known. You can get it from beauty retailers, as well as some chemists and online for around £11 - £12. It comes in 9 shades, from 'creamy ivory' and 'warm almond' right through to 'toffee' and 'soft sable'. The foundation contains Colour Adapt Particles which adapt to your individual skin tones to give a flawless but perfectly natural looking base. It's supposed to even out your skin tone without masking it and blend away imperfections. It's also oil-free so suitable even ... more

Advantages Advantages Great range of shades, Great coverage, Fair price, Suitable for most skin tones.

Disadvantages Disadvantages None that I can think of.

I usually have trouble finding foundations to match my very pale, cool toned skin. Most foundations on the market today are a few shades darker with warmer, more yellow undertones. After a long day of stopping at every department store counter only to be told "I'm sorry, it doesn't look like we have a shade pale enough for you..." I decided to head to Boots and take a look there too. Rimmel's were all too orange, Revlon's didn't have the right coverage available and Maybelline irritates my skin. I almost gave up (again!) until I saw the Max Factor display. Colour Adapt is sold as 'skin tone ... more
