Advantages: Looks natural Disadvantages: The pump dispenser
Having read other's reviews, I noted how different some were, which was interesting as when one buys a beauty product and finds it the best ever, it's a little puzzling to discover other's don't rate it so well! Of course, beauty products, especially facial creams and foundation will perform differently on different age-groups and skin types.
I confess, I am a make-up-aholic! have been wearing make-up since I was 14 but If I'd known then how blessed ... ...have covered it up with foundation, but girls will be girls!
So, I'm 55 now and still have a good skin. Although drugs for rheumatoid arthritis and a nasty couple of years with dreadful hot flushes brought about broken capilleries over my cheeks (and no, I'm not a lush!). What to do? I couldn't afford those expensive zapper treatments to get rid of the redness. So I started slapping on more of my usual (expensive) foundation, over the cheek area. ...

...to the site, joined the Max Factor Club and ordered my free sample and waited for it to arrive through the post. I was quite surprised when it arrived only 2 weeks later. I didn't actually give the little foil pouch much thought and it floated around my bathroom for several days before I decided to try it out.

...magazines were raving about, yup... Max Factor Colour Adapt foundation. And now I have the urge to spread the name around like wildfire because it has to be the best investment I have ever made beauty-wise.
My skin is what I would call OK - far from perfect, has it's off days but generally appears to be fine. It is also quite pale and freckly so I can't wear anything too heavy because it looks as though I can't apply it to save my life. Sheer foundations ... ...available almost everywhere that stocks Max Factor make-up - Boots, Superdrug, Sainsburys, other supermarkets and pharmacies. It comes in 8 shades - Sand, Creamy Ivory, Golden, Natural, Warm Almond, Bronze, Blushing Beige and Toffee. Some of these shades aren't available at the moment in Boots so I don't know whether they are anywhere else, or coming out soon. ...new magic formula provided by Max Factor International, that inspirational cosmetics house which, as we all know from the commercials, provides the make up of make up artists.
It's been a while since I wrote you gorgeous lovelies a review so please forgive me (yet rate accordingly) if this offering is below par. I don't mean to waste your time, yet I am getting rather excited and may veer off into insipid rambling.
Anyway, I have it here in my ... ...not covered by it. Max factor themselves give its coeverage a rating of 'good', which sounds, well, good until you notice that most of its other foundations have been awarded 'great'.
It's also quite pricey. I got it on special at £8.99, but I've seen it more commonly priced at £10.99 which is steep for mid-range. Might as well bite the bullet and go glam with Estee Lauder or Clinique if you ask me.

...(again!) until I saw the Max Factor display. Colour Adapt is sold as 'skin tone adapting make-up' that is said to adapt to your individual skin tone to provide a flawless look that it 'perfectly you.' Sounds promising - and the best part? The shade 40: Creamy Ivory was a *perfect* match for my skin and at only £11.95 for 34ml's I decided to give it a try. It dissapears into the skin, leaving an almost bare-faced-but-better finish. Due to it's creamy texture, it can leave the face feeling very slightly tacky, so I set with a small amount of MAC's Studio Fix Powder with a large, fluffy brush, not only mattifying but improving the foundations wear too. This combination lasts throughout the day with very few to no touchups ...

...the years. I first used Max Factor Colour Adapt when I got a free sample of it after buying some other Max Factor products. Colour Adapt comes in five shades: Creamy Ivory, Warm Almond, Blushing Beige, the uninformatively-named Natural, and Golden. It claims to adapt to your natural skin tones to provide a natural finish. It works well over moisturiser. It doesn't cling to dry skin or look cakey. ...I actually got my Max Factor Colour Adapt as part of a special promotion at Boots, so mine is only a sample size. Price: £11.95 - Sainsburys (may be cheaper elsewhere)
34ml tube
I tried 70 - natural
What is it?
This is a foundation that apparently adapts to your own skin tone. I've seen this advertised on television but had not got around to trying it out. I've recently tried the Age Renew which I found to be very silky on the skin - a little too silky for me. This also made me look shiny in photos. This ... ...the top it says - Max Factor - colour adapt.
The dispensing part of the tube is a large white push down nozzle which dispenses a tiny amount of foundation onto your finger, or whatever you are using to apply the foundation with. This way there is no waste. Covering the nozzle is a clear white plastic lid.
Smell:
Unlike the Age Renew which had a sweet smell to it, this Colour Adapt foundation had no smell at all. None that I could detect anyway.

...ask a representative at the Max Factor counter. I told her my budget, what my skin tends to be like, how much coverage I wanted and how often I'd be using foundation. For those who'd like to know (and I already explained my skin at the beginning), it went something like this:
- £10-£15 Budget.
- Medium to full coverage.
- I use foundation practically every day.
She recommended Max Factor Colour Adapt, it was around £11 and she happily went into ... ...easily sort that out by using moisturiser first, it's quite a liquidy consistancy and you only need to use a pea sized amount, it sets almost powder like. Sounded great to me, so I went ahead and got it.
So, Amy, what was it like?
Well, Ciao, I've been using this for around 2 weeks now and it definitely evened out my skin tone; even brought a bit more colour to my face without it looking too tacky/obvious, that's a great plus with this product. ...

...I received a sample of Max Factors colour adapt foundation and was absolutely amazed. Although it's a bit pricey at around £8.99 a bottle, I just had to have some! ...not to lose it. Max Factor Colour Adapt is written across the front of the bottle. The colour of the foundartion is written underneath the Max Factor Logo.
Price
This is the one downfall of this foundation, its quite expensive at £11.95 for 35ml. I don't actually wear make up that often so this bottle lasts me a very long time. Although I am not sure how long it would last if you were wearing it every day.
Applying It And The Effect
The texture ... ...spreads over my skin so nicely and blends into my natural skin tone with ease. Before applying the foundation, I always shake the bottle to try and make sure that all the foundation will come out evenly. Push down on the pump and a squirt of the foundation will come out onto your hand. I find that 2-3 pumps on the bottle provides me with enough foundation to fully cover my face. This foundation gives such a natural coverage and the foundation itself ...

Advantages: Really does adapt to your skin tones. Disadvantages: Quite pricey - but worth it.
One lonely, boring day at work I requested a sample of this foundation. Sure enough within two or three days, the sample arrived through my letterbox. The packaging claims that this foundation comprises of particles which adapt to the different natural variations of colour on one's face. To apply I used a makeup sponge (I should note here that Maxfactor recommend that you use your finger tips to apply ...
