Purple....Pink....Orange....and boobs

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Its rude!!

...that got to do with Max Power Magazine?? Well it was just for like minded people like myself, that lived, eat, slept and did other unspeakable things in the car! The mag had great features on how to make your car faster, louder and more pleasing to the eye. Several pages of adverts selling bits for my car were in there too, this was fantastic! Now, maybe I have grown up a little since I got married, not sure, but I had to buy a 5 door car and ...
...so my days of reading Max power had become something far and few between.... until tonight! As I wandered about the supermarket I say it there on the shelf, not noticing the price I shoved it in the trolley and carried on as normal. When it went through the scanner at the till though it flashed up the price.....£3.75 ALMOST £4!!!! "But" I thought to myself, if it is as good as it was all those years ago when Ford Sierra's were cool it must be ...

...girls or the like. However, Max Power prefers to call them "Max Babes". Now this is all well and good for the male majority (not all), but what about the female readers and those who are of an impressionable age? Well many people have written into the magazine to address this issue, but to no avail. The general view seems to be tough - if you don't like it, don't buy it! What else it there? There are the cars - the whole point of the magazine. ...
...as the best home-grown cars, Max Power also features cars from all over the world. This gives the reader a useful insight into what's hot elsewhere in the world of tuning and modifying. Most notable are those from Japan and America, as well as the rest of Europe. The only problem I have with all of this is the fact that many of the feature cars are well out of the reach of the average reader. Gone are the days where many of the cars were brought ...

Max Power cannot be derived from bra size can it

Advantages: Best cars, worldwide, well designed.
Disadvantages: Amount of advertising, do we really need to see so many 16 year old girls breasts?, EMAPs editorial discretion is questionable.

Max Power magazine, the biggest name in the Tuning Magazine industry. For some reason, Max Power has risen to the top of the pile of this type of magazine, and is now read by hundreds of thousands of regular readers each month. The staff line up isn't as impressive as the other magazines available, but a lot of those who work on magazines gained their reputation here at Max Power. Gez Jones (Fast Car) and Jon 'Proby' Walsh (Redline) are the noticeable ...
...and a feature car in Max is generally regarded as the pinnacle of recognition. Sure, to get a magazine feature in any magazine is a great achievement, but the sheer number of submissions Max Power attracts means they tend to get the 'cream of the crop'. Please note though, that their editorial discretion is not always assured, and the car you see in Max Power this month, was quite possibly the one you saw in Fast Car last month, or is also featured ...

Disadvantages: too many adverts, arrogant attitude to police, some minging girls modeling in it.

...modified cars who all recomended Max Power to get ideas and advice of what to do to my car, and to see what other people have done to thier cars. After buying it for the first time, I was hooked by the whole car tweaking scene. The beauty of this publication is the fact it has a little something for everyone. It has plenty of information on tuning and styling top end performance cars like Saxo VTR's etc, (for the lucky rich boys who own these fine ...
...cars is somewhat judgemental, but Max Power magazine talk about it as if it is the individual police officers fault, when clearly they are just following what theyve been ordered to do. Secondly, Although i like fit girls as much as the next non-Dale Winton bloke, the constant use of page 3 girls with over inflated chests in this mag gets a bit boring. When i want a mag with pretty girls in it, i buy FHM. However, when i want a magazine with info ...

Advantages: Full of good ideas, the latest products and suppliers
Disadvantages: Style of writing and style of presentation

I buy this magazine because I like cars,I like to be different and I like my car to be different. If you want to carry out any sort of modification to your car, styling or performance increase, then this is the place to come to for ideas. Don't take the magazine to seriously. It's written to be understood by teenagers, contains a lot of naked women and has a large number of premium rate numbers advertised in it. Look beyond all of this and you'll ...
...maxing (enhancing) your car. A lot of the cars that are featured in the magazine have had huge amounts of money spent on them. The sort of money you could buy a house with!! I respect people who can spend that amount of time and money on their cars - they do look good. I choose to spend my money on a house though. I do carry out small modifications to my car - air intake, exhaust, brakes, styling etc (totalling well under £1,000). I have found the ...

Fed up to the MAX

Advantages: Some good articles, staff cars
Disadvantages: Poor writing content, some of the cars

I’ve been buying MAX POWER for about a year now and have to say that I’m fed up with it. Don’t get me wrong there are some good articles and features to be read, its just not enough to merit buying it. When they do serious reports on, say car crime or driving under the influence these can be very interesting. There is a regular feature on new cars in which they test its handling and performance, giving guides on how it could be improved and rating ...
...pictures and the cost. MAX POWER is aimed at 17-25 year old males, even so the writing is still too juvenile for my liking. The advice pages are frankly useless as all they do is tell you to contact some company you could have found yourself if you had looked through the masses of adverts. The biggest joke is the letters page called write off, in which people write in about any old rubbish of no interest to most people. MAX POWER does a regular ...

Advantages: Great feature cars, good in-depth info and spec details, lots of nice pictures, half-naked women, not alot of irrelevant ads
Disadvantages: N/A

...number of advertisments published in Max Power is around average for this type of magazine, as there are a good few of the usual parts, spares, and in car entertainment ads scattered throughout for any people looking to modify their cars. However, this isn't too bad and is quite normal for a car magazine as alot of people buy these magazines just for the ads, ie/ looking for a cheap cd player etc. Aside from these ads, there isn't really much in ...

The Guide to tarting up a shopping Trolley

Advantages: Lots of info on how to tart up your shopping trolley
Disadvantages: Read by the worst drivers in the country, and pricey to boot

Max Power Magazine..... I'm sure you've all heard of it..... most likely via the sticker in the rear windscreen of a tarted up shopping trolley such as a Vauxhall Nova or Corsa, or a Citreon Saxo or Peugeot 106 and such like, being driven by some dopey little w***** who's just done one of the stupidest pieces of driving you've ever seen. You hope he gets caught by PC Plod, but then you remember they're all too busy messing about with them Speed camera ...
...I used to read it.... MAX POWER magazine has been around since around 1993/1994 and I read it for a year or two sometime around 1998 after my favourite magazine of the time (the now defunct "PERFORMANCE CAR" Magazine) ended up getting merged with "CAR" having scared off half their readers with an unsuccessful trial attempt at going boring and more upmarket. Some of the articles weren't too bad, like visits to Japan to check out boosted to buggery ...

bums tits cars and players

Advantages: gives manufacturers something to copy
Disadvantages: may not appeal to everyone

Max power, for those of you who dont know is a motoring magazine aimed at 13-30 year olds. The emphisis is on modifying cars to make them go faster, handle better, sound better and have a great sound system. In order to appeal to the audience who are mostly men, max power spreads scantyly clad women (often topless) across its pages. This truely is a great magazine. To understand the true significance of this magazine on influencing the design of ...
...just seem like statements but max power had a huge role in creating this. Where as other publications just featured new cars, max power showed the motoring organisations how cars should look, sound, feel and drive like, this may have been over done by the "maxers" but it showed the way for manufacturers. I also admire the pages that show exactly where speed traps are and how to detect them. Millions of kids must have learnt more about audio equiptment ...

Max Power

Advantages: Cool Mag, full of cool info
Disadvantages: Price, New look going on, adverts

I have been reading Max Power for many years and id say it has to be my favourite mag. Now lately it has changed its look... Good thing or bad thing? Im still not certain yet. Lets start from the front cover.... Its a really bright coloured front page, definatly eye catching! First thing you will notice is the kitted up (Maxed) car which someone has spent £KKKKs doing up and just wants so show off... After all its their pride and joy.... Why shouldn't ...
...bad... Also in this bit, Max Power interview normal people and do a write up on their cars. They feature the spec', design and other bits of info about their pride and joys... Next bit now.... The accessories bit.... This is where there are plenty of reviews about cars, products, accessories and the must buys for your vehicle. Whats going on then..... There is a feature of stuff thats going on. Want to find out about a car meet, (cruise), car ...

MAX filth

Advantages: good advice and features
Disadvantages: aimed at school kids

I have bought this mag since it was launched a few years back. At the time it was ground breaking because it was aimed at people like you and me and the cars featured could be our own. It still has the same basic concept and is still written in a jovial way but over the past year it has become stuck in a rut and a few other mags have actually passed it in terms of quality. Saying that it is still a good read with a mix of cars, ICE, cruises, tuning ...

Advantages: saves money, interesting reading
Disadvantages: does not appeal to everyone

...quite a few issues of max power, and i do find it to be interesting reading (Although not to be taken too seriously) as i do a lot of modifying on my own car. There are a lot of tips and tricks of the trade that have saved me probably half the money that it would have cost at the garage. Also in the middle section of this magazine there are a lot of body kits, in car entertainment etc that you can buy, and mostly can easily fit them yourself. (although ...
...garages advertised for extra charge) I do find these accessories to be quite reasonably priced, again saving me a lot of money. I also like the section at the back of this magazine, (after the advertising and 0901 numbers) called "cars for sale/spares" which is prety self explainatory. There are also a few car reviews throughout this magazine which i find usefull. I do think that for a car modification mag it is a bit overated but if you have any ...

Advantages: none unless something comes free with the mag
Disadvantages: utter crap

I dont buy this anymore. It used to be about buying a shed and doing it up for not much money and squeezing some extra bhp's out of it. Now every cover car is brand new. The people buy a brand new car and soup it up and add body kitt etc. Why not just buy a better car in the first place. They dont go on too much about Novas and escorts nowadays its japanese roadsters like MR2 and Suzuki Imprezas. The advice section is very patronising aswell they ...

Modified to the Max

Advantages: Best of all the car magazines, Subscription savings are huge
Disadvantages: Never any decent free gifts

I was looking to buy my first car, and being an 18 year old male i wanted a good looking one.Restrained by a £1000 budget and a realisation that the insurance wud cripple me no matter what, i sought after a way to make a standard (Corsa,Punto,Micra,Fiesta etc) look more than average. The price is very reasonable, although there are a lot of adverts not relating to cars (Lotsa premium rate dirty hotlines) Fantastic car to girl ration makes this ...
...the most novice car enthusiast. One criticism i wud have is the it is sometimes aimed at the more well off boy racers, with some cars ideas costing £60,000 or more. It tends to be the same cars featured again and again (Honda civic is a popular front pager) but the products on offer are second to none. Recently lost its section for used car sales, similar to Steven Gerrard losing his right foot. Still a very good read though, Miles ahead of rival ...

Disadvantages: Too much porn

Maybe max power is losing a bit of direction - very shortly i may have to stop buying it due to the increasing content of tits and bums - my girlfriend is not too pleased with it. What an utter shame - the articles are written with as much devotion as the cars themselves. Maybe if they did a suplemnt of porn then i could just choose to throw that away and get on with the real business of reading about performance cars. So then guys if your reading ...
