Advantages: Comfortable, safe Disadvantages: heavy
I was recommended to buy this car seat by a friend and now I can see why they rated it so highly.
Which magazine have rated Maxi Cosi as one of their safest car seats and it's been a great buy for us.
The seat itself is very well padded and comes with a head hugger which has extra padding on it which is velcroed on. You easily detach this once your baby has out grown it. The head hugger is really great though for when your baby is tiny. It gives ... ...head hugger stayed in our car seat until our baby was 5 months old. The padding around the rest of the seat is really sound comfortable but not so overly padded that it seems too soft and therefore not safe. When the baby is sat in it it doesn't hunch them up like in other car seats, instead the baby is well supported and has plenty of room to spread out and lie back. It definitely looks comfortable and lies the baby in what looks like a healthy ...

Advantages: Strong, safe, really comfortablt, baby loves sleeping in it, fits many pushchairs Disadvantages: Quite heavy and fairly expensive
Like most other expectant mums, I was completely bewildered by the selection of car seats on the market before my little boy was born. In the end I chose the Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seat as I felt it was the safest on the market and compatible with the icandy pushchair I had chosen. I am thrilled with my choice, it has been worth every penny.
My baby was only 5lb 11oz when born and although he was tiny, I felt he was very safe in this seat. It is very ... ...little boy absolutely loves this seat as it is really comfortable for him. He is now 6 months old and he was only ever cried twice in the car - he usually falls alseep within a couple of minutes! I have been known to take him round the block to calm him down. If he is awake in the seat and it is on a hard floor (say in a shop) he loves rocking himself backwards and forwards and there is a built-in sun canope which attaches to the handle - very handy ...

...into the rim of the Maxi-Cosi or pulls out and hooks on the bar. This is very useful, it's made of a fabric not unlike umbrella material, but thinner, and not water proof and is entirely unlike umbrella material! It keeps the rain off enough for the dash from car to house. It also creates a little dark individual room for the girls to easily sleep in when in the car, free from distractions of, usually, the other baby.
A mentioned before, the bar ... ...provide a rocking chair on the floor. This has been used successfully using a foot while nursing the other baby. Or it moves round to provide a firm base for a steady seat on the floor. We have used the seat in the early days of weaning to feed them. To move the bar you have to press two buttons on the hinge which is easy enough, however, you must press both buttons at the same time, and this is impossible while holding baby, I would rather just ...

Advantages: Easy to fit, easy to clean, compatible with some Quinny systems Disadvantages: Baby sweats more easily
We bought the Maxi-Cosi carseat to use with our Quinny Zapp travel system - lucky for us as otherwise we probably wouldn't have looked at it!
Initially this carseat seemed more expensive than some others, but as soon as we investigated in the shops I could certainly see why. It seems to be a higher quality than other, cheaper carseats on the market, with an interesting design that I've never seen elsewhere.
There is no assembly or fiddling required ... ...home is have a browse through the instructions, then off you go! Fixing the carseat into your vehicle using a seatbelt is very easy - I tend to be very easily confused (embarrassing but true) but even I find this very straightforward and obvious. The seat comes complete with a cushion insert so that younger babies can lie in a more horizontal position; much more comfortable for your little ones than having to sit further upright, where little heads ...

Where to buy:
This car seat is readily available. You can buy it from all the shops you'd expect to be able to buy them from including Halfords, mothercare, john lewis', toys r us etc.
What do they cost:
prices vary depending up on offers and stores but usually this car seat retails at £100.
How do they attach?
This car seat is different to many of the others on the market. It clips onto a base which is attached to your car, This makes it easy ... ...car without waking up the baby. The car seat base is attached by the seat belt securing it in place and a metal leg which keeps it stable.
Are they comfortable?
This car seat is very padded and so a nice cosy seat for your baby. It comes with a head hugger which makes it cosy and safe for a newborn. This headhugger can be removed revealing much more space so your baby can fit in the seat for longer. They are a nice shape, I've seen some car seats ...

Advantages: see rview Disadvantages: expense, heavy
I bought this when I had my baby as it was apparently the best on the market and I really can't find fault with it at all it has been the most reliable of our baby products and can't rate it highly enough.
This car seat is different from others as it is suitable for up to 9 months whilst the majority of others are just up to 6 months.
The seat is well padded and has a 'head hugger' so it is safer for newborns. This headhugger can then be removed ... ...be adjusted once your baby grows so that it is still safe and comfortable. The straps are easy to use- at first they were fiddly but once you have the hang of them then you know what you're doing they're easy! once you have strapped your baby in you then pull on the straps to make them tight so that your baby is safetly in place- sometimes if your baby has lots of layers on you need more slack so this is a really good feature to get the straps taught.

Advantages: Excellent for safety, comfort and totally practical Disadvantages: no negatives for this product
I used this for my daughter and used it from birth right through to the upper weight limit which is actually higher than most other car seats in this category. She always seemed so content in it and happily napped when travelling. The sun canopy is excellent, great for protecting the baby when driving and carrying about. Sun canopy also stores away easily when not in use, remaining attatched but out for the way. I also bought the easybase which made ... ...- especially when its raining which it so often does here. Also purchased mosquito net & Raincover both excellent purchases and in the UK I certainly needed them. I liked the fact that there were internal pads that could be removed as she grew to enable more comfort and space for her within the seat. Covers are easily removed for washing and seemed to dry very quickly. You could wash them in the afternoon and they could be refitted and ready for ...

Advantages: Safe and easy to use Disadvantages: cost
I bought a maxi-cosi cabrio car seat (with isofix base) for use purely as a carseat (we were given a pram otherwise I would have chosen one of the compatible prams e.g. bugaloo and quinney). It is rather expensive at around £200 for seat and isofix base and I would have thought that it was possible for Maxi-cosi to do it for quite a bit less. Despite that criticism I thought it well made and althought there is room for improvement, I do not regret ... ...For me the key plus points are the ease of use and the peace of mind it provides. With its traffic light system (red and green indicators) you can be sure it is fitted correctly every time. I found is very valuable as so many car seats are fitted incorrectly and you are buying a carseat for safety reasons so want to get it right.
I have found the carseat looks good and as new even after a few months of use.
The minor downsides are as follows:

Advantages: Easy to use, safety, build quality, adjustability. Disadvantages: Slightly heavier then some lesser models
I purchased the maxi cosi cabrio car seat for a number of reasons but mainly for its build quality, reputation and isofix attachements.
Another good point is that it was easy to fit to our Bugaboo pram.
The covers can be removed for easy cleaning and there is a great scope for adjustment with the straps.
The extra head guard cushion is a fantastic inclusion and really keeps your child stable and secure.
Having the isofix base already in the car ... ...out, and the green safety indicators on the base show when it is securely locked in place.
Having used some other lighter weight car seats that fasten via the seatbelt, i couldnt wait to get back to our secure base and seat.
We are using ours on our second child now and the seat and base do not look a day older then when new (other then the usual baby accoutrements!)
Absolute must ! ...

Advantages: Attractive and lightweight Disadvantages: Far too small
I chose this particular baby carrier as it fitted onto our Quinny travel system. I also found that this was quite a popular choice as well as being aesthetically pleasing and surprisingly lightweight. I chose the bright and colourful skydive design from the many colour options available.

I spoke to the store where we purchased this item and was told that it was fine for my baby's legs to overhang, despite the uncomfortable position. However around a week later whilst on a car journey, as my son's legs were bent against the seat, he managed to tip the infant carrier forward and his neck dropped down. Advantages: Stylish, simple to use and slim design so light weight Disadvantages: none
This is a fantastic car seat for up to a year old baby. It is very user friendly with easy instructions if you can't work out certain things. It is a slim design so it is quite light and easy to carry, the seat belt is a stylish and simple design where you have to interlock the arm straps then fasten between the legs. The handle can be placed in three positions:
1. behind the seat on the floor to stop seat rocking
2. behind the baby's head so it ... ...to carry it.
The seat also comes standard with a fabric cover which attaches to the handle to protect the baby from bright sunlight, and when not in use sits snuggly back in its pouch. Personally we have it up all the time as its always to bright for the baby.
Other accessories that come with it are padding for a new born baby which is used till about 3-4 months then it can easily taken out and stored for the next baby. There is a fantastic little ...

Advantages: Easy to fit and fasten up Disadvantages: Doesn't really last that long
When I was pregnant I saw everyone with this car seat and also using it as a push chair. I thought great, I'll have one of them. Get the baby out of the car and straight on it's wheels - perfect. However when I went into Edershaws Cardiff, I was advised that the car seat was the best on the market but the baby should only really be in there for a maximum of two hours - ideally only half an hour due to the breathing problems a slunched up baby may ... ...As I had a very small car at the time, the maxi cosi car seat fitted perfectly in the back and it was light to carry I only bought the seat and opted for a different push chair. I love the choice of colors and any stains get removed with a damp cloth. The newborn baby head rest cushion is fantastic ...
