5 Stars Max-imum Cosi-ness for my babies Review with images 04/02/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Comfort, Quality and Safety Features

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Higher End price

When looking for car seats safety was my top priority. I knew I would be spending all 9 months (well 8 in my case) of my pregnancy doing what I could to look after my babies so I wanted to ensure when they came into the world they were safe where ever we went. My other requirement was that I had car seats which were suitable for use with my travel system (iCandy Pear). After looking into this and speaking to other parents the Maxio Cosi Cabrio Infant Carrier seemed to be clear winner. ***Maxi-Cosi Cabrio*** The Maxi- Cosi Cabrio is a child car seat which is suitable for children from use from ... more

5 Stars The best car seat on the market Review with images 09/01/2010
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages safe, comfortable, easy to install

    Disadvantages Disadvantages slightly heavy!

A rather bold title for my review but one that I stand by. This car seat is the best one on the market both in my opinion and in the opinion of Which? magazine. I am now at the stage where the next size up seat is needed and I will miss using this seat as it has proven to be very reliable, useful and efficient. Choosing a car seat There are so many options available to you when you look into buying a cart seat for a newborn. I was pretty bewildered by the amount of choice and the variation between them all. At first glance they look very similar but then they vary so different in price and ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, dodgy sweaty fabric

Well, since my last reviews on baby equipment have been well received I thought Id continue the trend and tell you all about another piece of equipment we have owned… the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix. Technically we owned the Maxi-Cosi Cabrio, but the new style is called the 'Cabriofix' and as I work in a baby shop I am in the perfect position to tell you about the new and old styles. The Cabrio was the predecessor- it could only be fastened with the three-point seat belt, but the cabriofix has the addition of two bars at the bottom which enables it to click on and off the Easybase/ Easy Fix Base ... more

5 Stars As cosy as the name implies. Review with images 08/02/2008

Advantages Advantages Safe and comfortable for baby. Easy to fit, use and carry for parents.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only suitable for up to 13 kg (1 year approximately)

As a proud and excited first-time grandmother, I promised my daughter a pram and car seat as my initial contribution to the phenomenal expense that the new baby would bring. As any one who is familiar with my daughter (l0bsterquadrille) could guess, she did not choose a popular brand of buggy but opted instead for the somewhat unusual Stokke Xplory. One of our first considerations then was a car seat that would fit effortlessly onto the Xplory making the transition between car and buggy as smooth and easy as possible. One of the options was the Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix. Adapters fitted to the side ... more

When it came to picking a car seat for our little one the choice was overwhelming but because we had a Bugaboo stroller we decided to go for the Maxi Cosi CabrioFix Infant carrier as this was adaptable to be able to fix onto our stroller wheels. This Maxi Cosi also won the CabrioFix and EasyFix Base: Winners of Best Infant Carrier - Practical Parenting Awards 2009/10 so we knew it was a good quality product too. The car seat is a rear facing car seat which is the way you need to put babies until a certain age and is suitable from birth to about 13kg (about 12 months) of age. We first had to ... more

5 Stars Cosi little seat! Review with images 16/08/2009
    User recommends the product

    Advantages Advantages Comfortable, safe

    Disadvantages Disadvantages heavy

I was recommended to buy this car seat by a friend and now I can see why they rated it so highly. Which magazine have rated Maxi Cosi as one of their safest car seats and it's been a great buy for us. The seat itself is very well padded and comes with a head hugger which has extra padding on it which is velcroed on. You easily detach this once your baby has out grown it. The head hugger is really great though for when your baby is tiny. It gives that extra comfort and support which a newborn needs. The head hugger stayed in our car seat until our baby was 5 months old. The padding around the ... more

    5 Stars Safest seat 20/08/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages safe, practical, easy to install

    Disadvantages Disadvantages hard to clean

This car seat is one which my grandchildren have had and we have been made familiar with again due to the new arrival! It has been used for 3 of the grandchildren now which I think just goes to reflect how substantial and good quality it is. The car seat is suitable for newborns up to around 9 months, if you have a large baby then it may be more like 6 months but it is measured by size and their weight too, both are taken into consideration before they are moved up to the next size seat. This seat faces backwards in the car which is a requirement by law. It comes with a head-hugger section ... more

Advantages Advantages Strong, safe, really comfortablt, baby loves sleeping in it, fits many pushchairs

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite heavy and fairly expensive

Like most other expectant mums, I was completely bewildered by the selection of car seats on the market before my little boy was born. In the end I chose the Maxi Cosi Cabrio car seat as I felt it was the safest on the market and compatible with the icandy pushchair I had chosen. I am thrilled with my choice, it has been worth every penny. My baby was only 5lb 11oz when born and although he was tiny, I felt he was very safe in this seat. It is very strong and safe but equally as important to me, my little boy absolutely loves this seat as it is really comfortable for him. He is now 6 months ... more

Advantages Advantages Fits Bugaboo Frog Pushchair, Mid-Range Price, Easy to install.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Strap for tightening harness can be tricky when fitted in car.

The Maxi Cosi Cabrio is a Group0 (0-13kg) rear facing baby seat which is easy to install and not too heavy. The handle bar has three positions - upright for carrying and travelling in the car, midway so the seat can rock when not in the car and fully down behind so the seat does not rock when on the floor. The imminent arrival of twins and a day trip to John Lewis faced us with a bewildering choice of baby seats, which I had basically decided on pre purchase research was going to be a Britax seat of sorts. All the pre purchase research was binned when my wife decided on the day that we were ... more

This car seat came top in the Which research for safest carseat for a newborn baby which was why we bought it. It comes in various colours so you can chose which style you like. There are various ones such as Black, charcoal, cappucino, red, pink, blue... a huge variety and some with patterns on too so you can really customise to what you like. It is suitable from birth. It has a 'head hugger' in it which makes the seat a bit smaller for when your baby is tiny. The head hugger helps to support the head and provide a cushioning too. The straps are padded so that they don't rub your baby's body ... more
