    Disadvantages Disadvantages cleaning awkward

This car seat was recommended to us by several of our friends and when we looked at reviews from official sites it looked like this was one of the safest to go for. We had a Maxi Cosi newborn car seat and a pushchair which we really liked so we were pleased to go with this brand again. The car seat comes in a number of different colours although we went for plain black so it was universal and wouldn't really cause any issues if we had another baby of a different sex. Installing the car seat looked daunting at first but actually it is very easy to do which I was pleased about as it means that ... more

Advantages Advantages It looks good. It has essentially got good features

Disadvantages Disadvantages It just doesn't live up to promises

Firstly, I have to say it really puzzles me why there are so many great reviews out there on the net for this Car Seat. Usually when I review a baby product it is because I am raving about how great it is. But this is different. I have my reservations about the Maxi-Cosi Tobi, which is the Car Seat I currently have for my 26 month old boy. We had to buy a second Car Seat as my husband drops our son at nursery and I collect him, and due to lack of space the nursery cannot accommodate the seat in my husband's car if he were to take it out and leave it there for me to collect when I lift our son ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages difficult to plug in!

This car seat we bought to go in my parents car for when baby Hope goes to see them or if my Mum comes over and we want to take Hope out in her car. I chose this one because it is meant to be the safest forward facing car seat available for group 1 (this is the second size car seat on the market). Research shows that children should remain rear-facing until they are 4. There are many published papers about the importance of this and so the car seat that we have for our own car is rearward facing and three times the price of this! When my parents started saying they'd like one for their car ... more

When Lauren was approaching 8 months old, it was becoming clear that she was becoming to big for in travel system car seat and we needed to purchase a new one. Again, not having any idea of what we needed, off we went to Toys R Us. When we arrived we stood there for about 15minutes just looking at all the different seats and different prices (the prices ranged from £60 to nearly £200!) After seeking some advice, we decided to get the Maxi Cosi Tobi. Installation was really easy (after the shop assistant had shown us, before that we would not have had a clue, you simply feed the seat belt ... more

This car seat was voted the safest by Which magazine so when it came to choosing a new car seat for our grandchildren we opted for this one. We bought it from John lewis where the staff were very helpful and told us a lot about safety aspects and then showed us how to fit it to our car. The car seat is a stage 2 one which means it is suitable for children about 9kg plus so should last your child from around 1 year to about 3/4 years. Fitting the car seat is actually so easy that I managed to do it by myself with just following the drawings in the booklet! I was very worried that i wouldn't be ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Quality, sturdy, comfortable, looks great, and very easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Harness can spring open quickly - can startle child if sleeping whilst being taken out.

Our baby son has always been on the tall side. He was born at 9.7lbs and grew out of his rear facing infant carrier seat pretty quickly. So when it came to buying a seat the next size up (all of which were forward facing), at first we were extremely reluctant. For fear that it wouldn't be safe, as he was only around eight months and could only just about manage to sit on his own for about twenty seconds. However, we had no choice but to buy something - as he was just too tall for the carrier. For anyone that has used a Mamas and Papas Primo Viaggio seat as their first seat (as we did for our ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent in safety tests, comfortable for children, sturdy, easy to fit

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive and large.

After having the Primo Viaggio stage 0 carseat for our baby and then finding out that it scores very badly in Which? safety tests, we decided to do our research when choosing a stage 1 seat. Our choice was between Britax and Maxi Cosi who are the bit two manufacturers when it comes to child carseats. From looks alone we really liked the Maxi Cosi Tobi as it looked well padded for a comfortable ride. We tried a number of different seats in the back of the car and the Tobi seemed to be the easiest to fit and also the one that appeared the most secure once fitted. Unlike some of the other ... more

Advantages Advantages Fits very securely in the car. High up so the child can see out easily.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Covers are not machine washable. Child could escape easily by getting their arms out of the straps.

We bought this for my son to move into after outgrowing the cabriofix which we loved so thought we'd stay with the same brand. It was thoroughly recommended by the shop. The seat fitted very securely into the car although the fit is very dependant on the car so this excludes quite a chunk of the market and makes it less reliable if you are likley to change cars soon or need to use it in more than one car. The strap links across the top of the seat and then around the bottom - some cars don't have a long enough seat belt but most newer ones do. The base is quite narrow so you can still have ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfortable, easy use harness, easy adjustable strap height

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I absolutely love this car seat. It is lovely and comfortable for your child, with a nice high seat position so that they can see everything. They are surrounded by padding and cusioning so you know they are not going to get a numb bum! The harness is so easy to use as you can just pull it to tighten it without having to press any buttons, and it stays out of the way when you are getting baby into the car. The straps do not get tangled or twisted up either, which I found to be really annoying with my other car seat. Another great thing is the adjustable headrest which when lowered or raised ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages it is bulky

We bought this seat a couple of months back after trailing round several shops. We chose this one as it seemed the sturdiest, comfiest and easiest to use. We bought ours for £129.99 from Kiddicare.com. The seat is easy to fix into the car, using just the seatbelt. The seat has five reclining positions, from upright to a reclining position for when your little darling is asleep. The seat is recommended for use from the age of about 9 months old (providing your child is 9 kg in weight.) to 4 years old. There are several different strap settings up the back of the seat which are easily adjustable ... more
