Advantages Advantages Cheap and versatile disks

Disadvantages Disadvantages Distinctly mediocre performance by latest standards.

MAXTOR was formed in 1982 and currently enjoys an annual sales turnover in excess of four billion dollars. Clearly they’re doing something right! Whilst I’ve recently read some rather uncomplimentary comments about MAXSTOR disks which suggest their previously legendary reputation for manufacturing reliable hard disks has taken something of a back seat, I’m pleased to say I’ve not witnessed any such problems. Shortly before I acquired my latest PC – I sought to upgrade one of my ‘back office storage servers’ with an extra disk, specifically the 120Gb DiamondMax Plus 9 ATA/133 model. It cost me ... more

Advantages Advantages It's Huge and Fast

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Aren't Any Really

Memory/Capacity At 120Gb it will take you a long time to fill it up, or so you would think anyway. Mine is about half full, but then I have installed practically every bit of software I own onto it. The overall usable size will depend how you set it up. For instance if you set it as one 120Gb drive you will only loose around 3Gb when you format it to set it up. But should split it into two 60Gb drives you may find you loose around 5Gb and likewise if you split it to be read as more drives. Basically you can split any drive to be seen as separate partitions, but each partition needs it’s own ... more

Advantages Advantages Very quick data transfer

Disadvantages Disadvantages Produces quite alot of heat

A moderate to advanced user. First off the good things, its easy to install, with 4 screws and the wright cables connected your sorted!! The drive comes with two different power connectors fitted to the driver as standard ie. It has a standard power port that you can use straight from your power supply or as i got was a normal to serial-ata power adapter with my motherdoard. So far i have had my drive for 4 months. I've had no problems what so ever either!! I am about to get another 2 same drives but with a greater capacity!! With a 1.5 MB broadband line and only 120GB to save to it soon fills ... more

Advantages Advantages has plenty of room to store files e.g musicand documents

Disadvantages Disadvantages because its cheap its not the best to buy. but very good for the price

I have recently bought the 120GB maxtor hard dirve and i have had no problems with it as of yet. I am expecting some though because of how cheap the hard dricve was but i think that the hard drive is probably the best to get if u want room and not efficientcy. Because i have lots of documents and games i found this hard drvive to be very useful for me and the rest of the family because of how much space we needed for us to save school work office work and games and photos. I would recommend this hard dirve to any one who doesnt have enough money to buy a new computer and only wants to upgrade ... more
