...1.0, go immediately to the Maxtor website and download v1.1. This worked first time and it was extremely smooth and easy to use. It can be a little slow to do large back-ups, but I'd rather that it did it slowly and properly, than quickly with errors. You can also set it up to do regular backups, or just when ever you want. So the software it is supplied with is a let down, but this can be easily rectified and I would recommend that everyone upgrades ... Read review

...I decided to go for Maxtor as my older one was made by the same company, although it was obviously an older model. I was concerned it would be difficult to set up but it couldn't be easier. If I didn't have a problem with it then anyone can do it. The instructions don't go into too much detail but then its not really necessary for them to.
