    I’m forever on a quest to find the perfect mascara and I’ve read lots of articles in the various gossip magazines in the past praising Maybelline Great Lash Mascara so I thought I’d give it a try. I bought the Waterproof version of this as I wear contact lenses and in my experience waterproof mascaras are better at not flaking off into my eyes. I paid £4.99 for this in Boots which I thought was an excellent price for a mascara. It is also available at supermarkets and pharmacies. The packaging is a little cheap looking in my opinion.     Advantages Advantages Everything really, apart from not giving me 'dramatic' lashes!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't give me fat, fluttery, pretty lashes that I so desperately want!

    Anyone who has ever read any of my mascara reviews through the years on here will be aware that its one of my bug bears. I never ever find anything really good and either it agitates my extremely sensitive eyes or clumps and I simply find the stuff disgusting. Having said that I wouldn't dream of applying make up and not using mascara. Go figure! I have tried permanent mascara (doing it myself with a kit and at a salon) and found the results be disappointing to say the least.     Ok so how often do I wear mascara.........so seldom that everytime I go to put some on the tubes empty-thanks Cerise (thats my 14 year old daughter). But I do like to have mascara in the house and must admit never really thought much about how good it was etc etc. Until I came to Ciao that is and started reading ops on certain brand named mascaras and how good or not so good they are. My most recent purchase of mascara was also by Maybelline-its called Jade here in Germany.     I love my Max Factor Masterpiece mascaras, they're absolutely fantastic and my they're my first choice when it comes to eye make-up. I've been using Max Factor mascara for years, and was reluctant to change, but at £9 a go, I was hoping I could find something cheaper as I'm trying to save money at the moment. I decided to try Maybelline's Great Lash mascara which I bought from Boots a while back with one of those '£2 off make-up' vouchers that they do now and again.     Father Christmas dropped one of these into my stocking on Christmas eve coz he knows how much I love Maybelline make up products, particularly their mascaras ;) I hadn't tried this one before but my old one had pretty much ran out so I started using it straight away. I love the bottle it comes in. It's pink with a black lid and black writing and has a cute retro look. It looks great on my dressing table or in my make up bag :) I found the mascara easy to apply, and it rarely clumps. I usually find with Maybelline mascaras that they make my lashes super super long, but this one wasn't quite as ... more

    Advantages Advantages Very very waterproof, lives up to the description, Amazing when curled.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Hard to build, Hard to remove, can be annoying if not removed at end of day

    I was really looking forward to using this mascara as i love the newer Maybelline ones, such as falsies and collossal (amazing btw).. Plus after seeing it around for years i thought it would be a standalone product. It's product description is perfectly defines lashes with a clean and separate finish, not too much volume so if thats what you are looking for it's perfect, note it doesn't add too much length.     I decided to try this mascara as som many magazines etc say how wonderful Maybelline Great Lash mascara is. I cannot pass comment on the regular variety but I found this waterproof one to be very disappointing. The product is in a pink tube with bright green top so very distinctive and easy to spot. It has the wording in black down the side. It cost me £4.79 in Boots but I'm sure a better price could be found if you shop around.     I've had this for about two months now and I've still got loads left, and I normally apply a lot of mascara to my eyelashes! I say this is a bargain for a fiver. The packaging may look small but if you look carefully it gives you more ml of mascara than other mascaras on which the packaging in double the size. I like how the brush is small and quite thin. Normally mascaras with fat brushes have half the mascara on the brush! This only takes me a couple of coats to give me thick, volumising lashes.     After reading some of the reviews about this mascara I was persuaded to go out and buy a tube to try. I thought I would go for the waterproof version just because it was raining that week and I decided upon 'very black' as the colour. I bought this from Boots and it cost me £4.88. I was a bit sceptical at first as I thought the tube looked a bit cheap - its bright pink with a black handle - and I wasn't sure if I wanted to change from my usual brand.     I bought this mascara on a whim from the Superdrug website with the Scarlett and Crimson liquid eyeliner pen. I had bought it bought them to achieve the dramatic smokey-eyed look for when my partner and I were going out to dinner, and I still use it on the odd occasion. It is one of the three mascaras I regularly use. I like the shape of this mascara as it has two geometrical shapes as a base. The lid is in the shape of a cylinder (like most mascara lids) and the tube is a long cuboid shape.
