Advantages: so damn tasty! Very fruity Disadvantages: you can never just have one
...my favourite unchocolatey sweet, namely Maynards Wine Gums.
Last night I chewed through a whole packet in less than a minute (not literally through the packet you understand, I DID take the wrapper off first!). I suppose I should be feeling guilty as 1) I didn't share, and 2) they were meant to be my daughters but I nicked them.
I was introduced to these my my dear old uncle Dave as he always had a packet as a travel sweet to distract him from ...

Advantages: good flavours, chewy, last ages Disadvantages: may be too chewy for some
In previous reviews I have pondered the differences between adult’s confectionary and children’s confectionary. There is no doubt in my mind that there are some product only a child would buy (or admit to buying) and then again there are some products which just do not appeal to children. For example children seem more likely to pick Skittles, Starburst or Refreshers whereas adults seem more likely to choose Opal Fruits (a name which just made so ...

...as well as the price. Maynards Wine Gums also come in tubes of 200g. Sorry I don't have a price for them either.
For about £1.30p you can buy a bag of Wine gums which weighs about 180g per bag, which is home to different shaped sweets. The shapes being kidneys, crowns, diamonds, circles and rectangles. Each Wine gum has the name of a drink on them: Port, sherry, champagne, burgundy and claret.
The cylinder packet is mainly bright red with the ...

Hello and welcome to the review that should have been here. It was here but its not here now as I have taken it and put it into my private stash somewhere else. It may well appear somewhere else online and if it does it will have my name on it. Thank you to everyone, to all the people in my COT over the years who have stuck by me and who have been great influences over the reviews I have written. It is indeed a sad case that reviewers have to come ...

Advantages: A delightfully moorish sweet that doesn't hurt your teeth Disadvantages: they make you fat if you eat too many!
...that I have ever tasted. Maynards are my brand of choice too, having tried many other 'inferior' brand versions of them. No other brand has that same richness of flavour or 'squishyness' of sweet. The only other sweet that has come close in my opinion are those squishable bugs that have that gooey liquid in the middle. But these are meant for kids and haven't the right image for an adult to buy without feeling a little silly.
If you haven't tried ...

Advantages: Taste good and very nice as a sweet snack. Disadvantages: They can become quite addictive, or is that just me?
Maynards wine gums, in my opinion are the best of all sweets which do not contain chocolate and there are not many days that go by when I don’t suffer a packet of wine gums.
Wine gums come in two different sorts, round sweets which are in a roll and they weight 52g and different shapes in a bag these weight 150 or 200g I can never remember which they are. The shaped wine gums have different types of alcoholic drinks written on the top.
I am ...

Advantages: soft, juicy and lovely! Disadvantages: cant think of any
I went to the supermarket the other day and as usually a wanted something sweet; so I thought to myself what sweets have I not had for ages? I know, Wine Gums!
THE PACKAGING
The packaging for wine gums is very bright and stands out to you. They come in small packets, larger packets and at Christmas and Easter they do large tube of them too. The packaging is all the same design, thick bright coloured stripes in green, yellow, black and red coming ...

Advantages: Yummy! Disadvantages: Granny and Grandad might have trouble with these
I have been thinking for a while as to what my next review could be about so while grocery shopping last night I decided to treat myself (for the benefit of Ciao of course!) to some nice, tasty Maynard’s Wine Gums.
These have been my all-time favourite non-chocolate sweet since I can remember. When we would go for day trips anywhere at weekends and stopped by anywhere that would sell sweets I would always ask for Wine Gums, and the answer ...

Advantages: AN AGE OLD FAVOURITE STILL GOING STRONG AND JUST AS NICE NOW AS WHEN I WAS WEE! Disadvantages: CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, THEY WON'T GET YOU DRUNK...!!!
Maynards Wine Gums
For those of you who have never encountered these wonderfully fruity, gummy, chewy sweets, well you've certainly been missing out! They have been around forever, or at least, for a very , very long time. As a child I'm certain there were rumours we heard that eating too many of them could make you drunk, but as they came, at that time, in a roll of about 14, there was never really the opportunity to eat too many!
The sweets ...

Advantages: Tasty, Easy to Eat, Disadvantages: None
...there is NO WINE in Maynards Wine Gums.
Maynard Wine Gums were introduced in 1896 and have gone from strength ever since. In 2001 Wine Pastilles were introduced.
My Opinion:
Ok, having done a review on Fruit Gums (see previous review done) I decded that I had to do a review on Wine Gums which I currently much prefer.
Now Wine Gums have an excellent taste. I personally like the Black ones most of all as they have such a strong tasty taste. ...

Wine gums - one of those evil inventions that puts on the pounds. Once you start with a role of them or open a bag, it will be very hard to resist temptation to stop eating them.
Maynards wine gums either can be bought in a role or in a bag.
The wine gums in the roll are all round - and they come in a long oval red plastic wrapper with a twist at teach end. As the roll only contains about 12 sweets, I much prefer the red plastic bag, which contains ...

My wife buys a pack of 4 wine gums every week to help fill up our ever decreasing sweet tin. She also buys 'Chewits' 'Maoam' 'Flumps' and other kids sweets but the Wine Gums almost always end up in my tummy not the kids.
I don't know why but I just love ...

Advantages: Great Taste! Disadvantages: A bit sticky, Not That Chep
I think we all know what Wine Gums are. If you don't know they are chewy sweet which come in all different flavours. They also come in different shapes and sizes. Maynard's Wine Gums have been around for ages and are a good quality and reliable sweet.
Packaging + Cost:
As far as I am aware you can buy Wine Gums in two different packets. Firstly there are the small tubes which are normally green with a picture of...you guessed it Wine Gums on the ...

Wine gums have to be among my top favourite sweets. The most common version of them is in a roll which is decorated in bright colours, reflecting the different colours of sweets that there are. They come in in 50g roll packs, 180g or 225g bags, 300g and 600g cartons and can be bought at corner shops, supermarkets and other stores that sell confectionery.
They rolls contain all round sweets but the packs contain different shapes: Kidney, crown, ...
