Well, quite naturally, I was taken aback. As the woman of the house, I felt that I should have at least some say in this process. "Hold on," I replied. "At least give me a chance to have a look!" That meant waiting until the weekend, of course. Meanwhile, I was strongly lobbied on behalf of the Maytag Neptune:

...His recommendation was either the Maytag and another brand because he didn't see them often getting repaired. And he would consider one of those when his Hoover died. He forewarned me though, the Maytag would be more expensive than the other brand. Also I would have to look around as not many shops sold the bigger MAYTAG Models.There is a smaller MAYTAG very similar to most other machines you see in salesrooms. They are painted metal not baked enamel.
