This is the first car I have owned from new. I bought it in 2003 and since then it has given me almost no trouble at all. There were a few niggling things wrong at first, for example the sun visor on one side was loose so it wouldn't stay in the correct position, and the sunglasses holder wouldn't stay closed, but these were sorted out under warranty and were minor issues. The only serious problems I have encountered with the car were with the support struts for the hatchback, which do manage to hold the bootlid up but are very noisy and stiff, so it won't go up by itself. They were replaced ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bumpy Ride compared to other cars of a similar price

Firstly I should make it clear that I am only 16 (at the time of writing) so I have never driven this car or any other car for that matter but I thought I would give my opinion on this car as I have spent at least 35 hours in it over the summer period. I have completed my GCSE's this summer so as a result I have had 2 whole months free to go on many holidays in the car including one to the south of France. Well the most important opinion I can actually give as a passenger is to what it is like to spend a long time in the car. Well this car is extremely comfortable and roomy. There is loads of ... more

I had a 2008 Mazda 6 2.0TS 6 Speed as a hire car while on business while in the UK. Firstly the cabin is well well put together and everything was within easy reach. The model I had was equipped with a few options dual climate, 4 x electric windows, cruise control, electric mirrors, steering mounted controls etc. I found the radio controls fine to use but the display in the center of the dash very difficult to use as it was only 1 line display. Plenty of space in the car and lots of cubby holes for phone etc. There is also a AUX socket in the center arm rest which is useful if you have an ipod ... more

It took along time for me to decide I wanted to buy a brand new car, it took me months more before I had decided on this particular car. As this was to be my first new car I wanted to get the best for my money. I had numerous test drives and when I eventually chose this particular model being the Mazda 2.3 sport, I was looking forward to trouble free fun driving. Not the start of a nightmare that has gone on and on. I should have known this was not going to be good when the original day of collection was changed, it was lucky for me that I phoned them before going straight to Mazda. It was ... more

We bought our Mazda6 in June '03 when it was 6 months old with 5,000 miles on the clock. It's the 2.0S Diesel Estate and does 40+ miles to the gallon easily. It's the most basic of the range of models but comes with ABS and electric windows as standard. We've added a CD player to the radio/cassette fitted. It does have to be Mazda one though as no others will fit the dash. This makes it very secure though. The car is very roomy - plenty of space for my 6'4" husband as driver or passenger, and loads of leg room in the back for the kids. The estate has tons of boot space as you'd expect, and a ... more

Advantages Advantages Sporty Looking, Range of Colours available, Low fuel consumption

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some difficulty with Blind Spots

I have owned my Mazda 6 since Spetember 2003, and I have to say it is the nicest car I'll have for a while. I have not long been driving, and have previously had a Ford Fiesta and Fiat Punto, which are no source for comparison as this is the largest car I have driven, and probably the only one I'll be able to afford for a while. The Mazda 6 I own is Black with a 1.8 litre engine, with alloys, ABS, Cruise Contol and power steering. It handles excellently, has great accelleration and drives beautifully. I am no car expert, but this car has really done what I was told it would do when I bought it ... more

    Advantages Advantages Style, practicality, economy.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Blind spots, cabin finish.

The Mazda 6 was something of a departure for me. Having been spoiled by the Audi A4 and more latterly the Mercedes C240 (both 2nd hand of course) the time had come for some affordable style, practicality and common sense(2nd hand of course). The '6' scores heavily in both departments. I bought mine at 6 months old on a '53 plate and with 8K on the clock. This followed a lot of research on the rivals, a tight budget and a very open mind. Styling is sleek with a high bootline that bears a passing resemblance to the Lexus. This does hinder rear visibility particularly if fitted with a spoiler, so ... more

We bought this car from new, one of the very first ones in 2002. I like the unusual look, very stylish. Vast improvement on the old model 626. Very impressed, many extras including climate control (much better than standard air conditioning), bose CD changer, cruise control, leather seats. There is plenty of leg room in the back. We tried nearly all makes with models of this size, but we found the Mazda to be thebest value for money. We were looking for a good family car and this has proved to have been a good choice. Enough room in the boot for a pushchair and shopping. Space in the back for ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Mazda 6 by mandynorris1 18/05/2007
Last week I had a horrible head on crash -and it is thanks to this car that I am still here. The safety features are great -the car took so much damage but I was so well cushioned and protected I walked away with only a few injuries. The car itself -I had from new (05 reg) and I loved this car so much! A dream to drive -comfy -looks great -handles well -only negative was the not so good accleration (although i am comparing this to my other car -twin turbo 2 litre MR2!). Very sad to see this car ... more

Advantages Advantages Superb Handling, Diesel Engines, Brakes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wind And Road Noise

I bought the Mazda 6 Estate TS2 136 Diesel and considering the price, i was absolutely amazed at what fantastic value for money it was! A special mention has to go to the brakes of this car, they are absolutely fantastic, even on a big load lugging estate that i had, just the slightest touch on the brakes was enough to ping the car to a halt in seconds. The handling of this car is also what sets it apart from the competition, the light steering along with the impressive diesel engines do make this a fantastic car to take round the rural B roads. The diesel engines are all incredibly quiet with ... more
