This is the first car I have owned from new. I bought it in 2003 and since then it has given me almost no trouble at all. There were a few niggling things wrong at first, for example the sun visor on one side was loose so it wouldn't stay in the correct position, and the sunglasses holder wouldn't stay closed, but these were sorted out under warranty and were minor issues.
The only serious problems I have encountered with the car were with the support ... ...bootlid up but are very noisy and stiff, so it won't go up by itself. They were replaced under warranty but the problem came back and now the warranty is finished :( There is a potentially dangerous problem with the rear seat belts which sometimes lock up for no reason and will not release unless you take it right back to the start position. This is very serious as the belt just gets tighter and tighter and you have to take it off to release it, ...

Advantages: Lots of room, Comfortable, Powerful Disadvantages: Bumpy Ride compared to other cars of a similar price
Firstly I should make it clear that I am only 16 (at the time of writing) so I have never driven this car or any other car for that matter but I thought I would give my opinion on this car as I have spent at least 35 hours in it over the summer period.
I have completed my GCSE's this summer so as a result I have had 2 whole months free to go on many holidays in the car including one to the south of France.
Well the most important opinion I can ... ...like to spend a long time in the car. Well this car is extremely comfortable and roomy. There is loads of leg room in the front and loads of room in the back. The front seats can be adjusted with ease. This does lead to a problem with parking, because a sacrifice for all of this is that the car is very long. The particular engine of this car is a 2.0 litre unleaded. This makes the car very powerful with a very fast acceleration and high top speed ...

I had a 2008 Mazda 6 2.0TS 6 Speed as a hire car while on business while in the UK. Firstly the cabin is well well put together and everything was within easy reach. The model I had was equipped with a few options dual climate, 4 x electric windows, cruise control, electric mirrors, steering mounted controls etc. I found the radio controls fine to use but the display in the center of the dash very difficult to use as it was only 1 line display. Plenty ... ...its acceleration would leave the mazda 6 in its wake! Handling is quiet good, very direct steering. The ride is quiet rough though. One thing I didnt like was the manner in which the cruise control was set up. When cruise was "on" a amber cruise light appeared on the dash, when the cruising speed was set it turned to green. I found the amber "stanby state" can be slightly distracting especially driving at night. ...

...It does have to be Mazda one though as no others will fit the dash. This makes it very secure though. The car is very roomy - plenty of space for my 6'4" husband as driver or passenger, and loads of leg room in the back for the kids. The estate has tons of boot space as you'd expect, and a tonneau cover hides any valuables you leave in the car when you're away. It's got a good low boot too so it's easy to get large stuff in and out.
The advert is ... ...wheels replaced as they have corroded, but we're told this is a common problem and Mazda are getting another supplier of wheels.
It can be a bit noisy on some road surfaces - not sure if this is the tyres we've fitted but I just turn up the stereo! ...

...this particular model being the Mazda 2.3 sport, I was looking forward to trouble free fun driving. Not the start of a nightmare that has gone on and on.
I should have known this was not going to be good when the original day of collection was changed, it was lucky for me that I phoned them before going straight to Mazda. It was something to do with it not being registered, so as a goodwill gesture they told me that they would fill the petrol tank ... ...had a letter from a Mazda dealer, who told me the clutch had in fact been worn out and in a performance car this can be achieved in an afternoon. The letter goes on to quote this can be achieved by motoring journalists. I consider myself to be a careful driver, although I enjoy top gear I am not Mr J Clarkson.
When I collected the car a few days later, I noticed the trip computer was not working, (this rectified after a few days) and there was a ...

I have owned my Mazda 6 since Spetember 2003, and I have to say it is the nicest car I'll have for a while. I have not long been driving, and have previously had a Ford Fiesta and Fiat Punto, which are no source for comparison as this is the largest car I have driven, and probably the only one I'll be able to afford for a while.
The Mazda 6 I own is Black with a 1.8 litre engine, with alloys, ABS, Cruise Contol and power steering. It handles excellently, ... ...I recieved highly.
This Mazda is an all-round great car. I'd think it'd be suitable for families, due to the large amounts of room in the boot and the back of the car, as well as being suitable for short and long journeys...just be extra careful when parking in a multi-storey car-park as I wouldn't say this is a car I'd like to "dink" on a pillar. ...

The Mazda 6 was something of a departure for me. Having been spoiled by the Audi A4 and more latterly the Mercedes C240 (both 2nd hand of course) the time had come for some affordable style, practicality and common sense(2nd hand of course). The '6' scores heavily in both departments. I bought mine at 6 months old on a '53 plate and with 8K on the clock. This followed a lot of research on the rivals, a tight budget and a very open mind.
Styling ... ...In my view the Mazda 6 is a class leader that offers more personality than its fairly anonymous rivals. This is borne out by the increasing numbers you are seeing on the road - testament to the value for money offered by this package. Residuals should establish in line with the cars reputation, build quality and reliability, but are unlikely to match the Honda.
Regrets? -None. Enjoyable to drive, stylish and versatile. You won't be disappointed ...

...size, but we found the Mazda to be thebest value for money. We were looking for a good family car and this has proved to have been a good choice. Enough room in the boot for a pushchair and shopping. Space in the back for the baby's car seat and two passengers.
The stereo is brilliant, very good sound. We had the 6 cd multichanger, well worth it, plus it is fiited in the dash so no lost boot space!
Very comfortable ride, easily adjustable driver ...

Last week I had a horrible head on crash -and it is thanks to this car that I am still here. The safety features are great -the car took so much damage but I was so well cushioned and protected I walked away with only a few injuries. The car itself -I had from new (05 reg) and I loved this car so much! A dream to drive -comfy -looks great -handles well -only negative was the not so good accleration (although i am comparing this to my other car -twin turbo 2 litre MR2!).
Very sad to see this car go -but I am replacing it with the mazda katano.
All in all -top marks. ...

I bought the Mazda 6 Estate TS2 136 Diesel and considering the price, i was absolutely amazed at what fantastic value for money it was! A special mention has to go to the brakes of this car, they are absolutely fantastic, even on a big load lugging estate that i had, just the slightest touch on the brakes was enough to ping the car to a halt in seconds. The handling of this car is also what sets it apart from the competition, the light steering along ... ...that is great about the Mazda 6, but in a load lugging form so you get a nice big boot to pack plenty of bags into and with the rear seats which fold perfectly flat, you can fit a lot more luggage into your car. The customer service offered by Mazda is first class and the included European Assistance by Mazda comes in really handy especially as we required it and the service was absolutely superb. The only problem i had with this car is the amount ...

I loved my Mazda 6 1.8TS, which now sadly has to go, to be replaced by the wildly over-rated BMW 320d company car.
Great handling, probably a little underpowered, comfortable on short and long journeys, decent stereo, loads of space when converted van style with the seats down. Never had any reliability problems over 32000 miles, spread across towns, motorways and family holidays.
Before choosing the Mazda looked at A4 (twice the price for similar spec but not twice the car), X Type Jag - a bit "old". Would definitely recommend a 6 to anyone. Fun to drive, cheap to run, good looking, and comfortable. ...

...I decided to purchase a Mazda 6 (1.8 S Hatchback). I found that the local franchise dealer prices were much higher than car supermarkets so it was worth searching the internet before purchasing.
Having now owned the car for over a year I have found that the performance from the 1.8 engine is ok rather than sparkling, and that it gives a fairly firm ride, but has proved a very comfortable drive over long distances.
In choosing a Mazda I had hoped ... ...or 60,000 miles).
The Mazda 6 scores on space, with loads of legroom especially for passengers in the back (three large teenage lads fitting in comfortably). The cabin space is complimented by a huge boot.
The biggest drawback has been the fuel consumption with the average at only just over 30 mpg, despite careful driving. Although after a recent service this has picked up to around 36 mpg. ...

My 2003 Mazda 6 clutch is slipping. I researched it and found that this is a problem for many Mazda owners. I decided to make a petition because I do not think we should pay for their mistake. I got my first Mazda 6 back in April 2003. Mine was the TS2 with black leather interior and alloy wheels. The car proved to be extremely reliable, comfortable and enjoyable to drive, these were important to me, not least because when I changed my car earlier this year, it had over 100,000 miles on the clock.
