It isn't often I venture into MacDonald's, but on a damp and grey Bank Holiday Monday, this I where I ended up. I really detest sitting there on yellow chairs watching my kids munching synthetic food, so please be assured this was a rare visit. Yesterday I had a McDonalds hot dog. It looked rather strange (as if the 'bread roll' was made of plastic glazed with varnish), but it arrived at my table in 2 minutes flat, was hot and fresh, and tasted pretty darn good in a 'not real food' kind of way. Im going to start off by telling you that i work for Mcdonalds and have done for the past 4 years. Ok the pay isn't amazing but at least there are some advantages of working there. Free food on your breaks when you work, discounted food when you visit, free health care after 3 years service, sick pay when your ill, 4 weeks holiday pay per year and coupons & vouchers for companys in connection with McDonalds. Love it or loathe it, you can find a McDonalds in most places. When the kids are in the car and they spy that red McDonald's 'M' sign, my heart sinks as the chorus from the back pipes up "Dad, can we have a McDonald's pleeeaase" in the way that melts the hardest of hearts.
