    "Hi, I would like 1 Extra Value Cheese Meal please." It's what I have always said, and what I always will. McDonald's in my mind is the best place to go if you are feeling hungry on a Saturday afternoon, after lugging around all the usual high street shops. Of course McDonalds is by far a popular place at lunchtime, so I don’t really need to suggest it to you. Some people pick KFC, or Burger King, however I am MaccyD right the way through.     The competition there is these days for being the better food chain is quite ridiculous. The 2 real main competitors in the food battle of business have mainly been MCDONALDS and BURGER KING, 2 High Street stores, both well known and very popular yet biggest retailing enemys. Which one has the most trade!? Which company earns the most!? Which sells the better food!? These are all questions and points people discuss each day, whether with our mates in town or our family at home.     McDonald’s has been around since before I was born. As a child, I can remember what a treat it was to be able to go to McDonald’s for a meal. At that time, the restaurants were small with a golden arch on each end. Each one resembled a drive-in more than a restaurant. Most food had to be taken out to the car to eat, as there was little, if any, seating in the restaurant itself. Now, the McDonalds we all know is a booming business.     Even holiday abroad you can’t fail to notice a McDonalds, aren’t they just great? A lot of people often have bad things to say about this fast food restaurant, but I think they are excellent, where else could you get a good hot snack for a few pounds. It may be unhealthy and you may be served by exploited kids working but the food is excellent. When of course it’s not cold. Great to go with your friends and eat a Happy Meal, drink a milk shake and have a chat. It’s fast, and easy and convenient.     I have been a massive fan of McDonalds for years and once even worked for them for a great length of time and enjoyed the whole experience. I have read many opinions on both of the fast food giants and have often found that McDonald’s comes out fairly poorly in a lot of them, this is mainly due to hear say and not actual experiences.     As most of you know, I have a boyfriend on here (JackW24) who write lots of controversial ops on anything from mp3's to cloning. This is where i come in (NO, not the cloning silly!) because i really want to rip his opinion on McDonalds.. Read on! So we are all sitting here ripping Mcdonalds to shreds with comments of bad food and awful prices but they are only there for one reason - to sell! McDonalds wouldn't be making money if everyone was telling the truth and really didn't go to Macdonalds. Now Sexy Kay, who is a vegetarian, is one of those people to make these comments.     Most people are opinionated on McDonalds - you are either for them or against them. Either you are a Big Maccer or a Whopper – unless of course you are a veggie and neither floats your boat! McDonalds in Northern Ireland is only a fairly recent phenomenon – having only been around perhaps only over the last 10 years or so. Of late though, they seem to be appearing on every corner – breeding like rabbits they are! I think lm a McDonalds ‘lover’ – l do however use this term loosely!     OK so this is a slightly ‘different’ style of opinion from those I have written so far. (I wasn’t even sure whether it should come under a McDonalds or a Burger King op) So why am I writing it?? Well really so I can say ‘What on earth is going on!’. But let’s carry on to why I’m saying it. It began with a trip to Burger King.     Dill .... Dill .... what the hell is Dill .... I will tell you folks - Dill is that odd green thing which EVERYONE lifts surreptitiously out of their CHEEZBOIGER and deposits carefully in the container where no one can see it... Now it seems every McDonlads freak wants to know - is it Dill? Or Gherkin? Or courgette? Answers on a postcard please to THE SAD MAN, GOLDEN ARCHES, SOMEWHERE IN THE US...     I must be in the minority but I hate McDonalds, not the food, but the whole concept. Right from the start as you join the queue its painful to see the young harrassed staff waiting for you to spit your order out so they can keep the turnover going and get on to the next person. Sometimes difficult to find a seat, as usually crowded, you tend to think you have to get it down your gullet as fast as you can and get out to make space for the others. Everything (except consumed food and drink) has to be disposed of and put in the bin what a waste. Who wants to eat out of cardboard and plastic ... more
